He felt there was something inherently wrong, and after a moment’s hesitation, he skirted around the base of the mountain, looking for a more concealed way to enter the temple.

Soon, he saw a set of steps on one side of the small mountain. These steps were much narrower than the stone path in front of the temple, wide enough for only one person. On these steps, dark red stains appeared intermittently, looking almost like blood that had been spilled.

After thinking for a moment, Song Jian decided to enter the temple via these steps. A few steps later, a monk in gray robes emerged from the woods beside the staircase, hands clasped together, blocking Song Jian’s way.
