I have an Apocalypse City -
Chapter 1256 - Chapter 1256 Chapter 1258 Zhenmo Temple
Chapter 1256: Chapter 1258: Zhenmo Temple Chapter 1256: Chapter 1258: Zhenmo Temple Song Jian looked down and saw strands of black and red breath, like ropes, winding around the stone figure Gulu’s entire body. Even Gulu’s consciousness seemed to have fallen into an illusion and was completely unable to receive any orders from Song Jian.
“To speak to a lady in such a manner is really impolite!” The town girl walked up slowly with an expressionless face, and her ruby-like eyes shone with dangerous light.
The dragon head on her armor’s left shoulder eerily turned to stare at Song Jian, as if it were a living Giant Dragon. Feeling its gaze, Song Jian felt a chill at the back of his neck and involuntarily took two steps back.
“Ahem, I am very interested in knowing how to rapidly enhance my strength and advance to the Legendary Realm,” Song Jian coughed and said.
“That’s more like it, hmph!” The girl snorted coldly and beckoned to Song Jian with a curl of her little finger, “Follow me, you brought back the complete Demon Suppression Tower for me, and I am very happy. This can be considered a reward for you!”
With no other choice, Song Jian could only recall the battle pet stone figure Gulu back to the Pet Space and then followed closely behind the girl.
In the midst of the fog, Song Jian’s perception was greatly suppressed; he could only sense the area within three to four meters around him. The girl walked ahead, and Song Jian had to follow closely behind. Otherwise, a slight delay could cause him to lose sight of the girl and find himself lost in the Mysterious Town.
After walking for about fifteen minutes, Song Jian felt that they had left the area of the Mysterious Town. The girl stopped under a large tree and beckoned to Song Jian to come closer.
Hurrying over, Song Jian saw that there was an ancient well under the tree which seemed to have been abandoned for many years, with black bricks piled around it, many of which were already cracked and covered in dust, surrounded by dead branches and fallen leaves.
Peering down, he saw a grey vapor slowly rotating inside the well. Song Jian was alarmed; this ancient well was actually an independent Teleportation Array!
“Jump down!” the girl said, pointing to the ancient well.
“Where does it lead?” Song Jian asked with a frown.
An unfamiliar Teleportation Array was the most dangerous thing in games, leading to the unknown, and for players, such a mysterious array was very likely to be a deathtrap. Once inside, it was a situation of facing near certain death or even a certain doom!
“It leads to a shortcut! A place that can allow you to rapidly enhance your strength,” the girl said with a smile, her aura surging, with ferocious Magic Dragon phantoms emerging behind her. An ethereal figure holding a scepter stood behind her, with the Magic Dragon phantoms swirling around the figure, appearing as tiny as pythons.
“This aura has definitely surpassed the Legendary Realm!” Song Jian thought in surprise.
“Go in, and if you can come out on your own strength, our debts and grievances will be wiped clean,” the girl said, her expressionless face revealing a cold murderous intent, as if she would kill Song Jian on the spot if he dared to utter a word of refusal.
Song Jian’s thoughts raced in his mind. If the other party was only a Legendary Realm powerhouse, maybe he could combat by unleashing the Opening Heaven Style. But now, he clearly sensed that her strength was beyond the Legendary Realm, and to make an enemy of her now was tantamount to seeking death.
Glancing at the girl, Song Jian turned to look at the ancient well. The slowly rotating vapor emitted a sense of tranquility and peace and didn’t reveal a trace of danger, but that didn’t mean the other side of the Teleportation Array was safe.
Seeing the girl’s expression growing more impatient, Song Jian took a deep breath and leaped into the ancient well.
Watching Song Jian’s figure disappear into the well, a smile appeared on the girl’s face as she muttered to herself, “The sacrifice is complete; at last, I have found an excellent offering. I hope you can survive, giggle~”
After jumping into the ancient well, Song Jian suddenly heard a booming sound in his ears.
Boom~
In his originally dim field of view, countless lines of latitude and longitude appeared instantaneously, emerging around Song Jian like a huge net, resembling entry into an alternate dimension.
After an indeterminate amount of time, the scene in front of Song Jian shattered like glass, and he found himself crashing onto a patch of grass. He rolled twice on the grass to absorb the momentum, then got up to find himself standing amidst waist-high grass. Looking up, it was dusk, and in the distance, he could faintly make out a temple with a plaque approximately ten feet wide and thirty feet long, on which the three big characters “Zhenmo Temple” were vaguely visible.
[Warning: Player has entered a special game area, the communication system is temporarily closed!]
[Warning: Player has entered a special game area, flight function is temporarily closed, including flying battle pets and mounts, which cannot be summoned in this area!]
[Warning: The player has passively accepted the hidden mission, “The Devil’s Sacrifice”. Mission clues are within Zhenmo Temple; please proceed to Zhenmo Temple to find the mission clue!]
Three warnings suddenly appeared in front of Song Jian’s eyes, each one an ominous dark red, as if written in blood, giving an inauspicious and dangerous feeling.
These three warning messages lingered before Song Jian’s eyes for a full thirty seconds before they slowly dissipated, and at the same time, a corresponding hidden mission, “The Devil’s Sacrifice”, appeared in the mission bar. However, the mission content was just a string of question marks, and the mission prompt had only one instruction: go to the core area of Zhenmo Temple to find Master Yiwen! It was followed by the words “Unfinished”.
Looking towards the distant Zhenmo Temple, although the temple itself did not give off a sense of danger, the quiet surroundings and the empty grassland which hosted such a temple felt very mysterious.
What was most important was the name of the temple itself, Zhenmo Temple, which gave Song Jian a feeling of unease.
Song Jian crouched low in the waist-high wild grass, slowly approaching the Zhenmo Temple ahead. The Zhenmo Temple was built at the top of a small mountain. The peak was not very high, only about several dozen meters tall, with a path leading directly from the base of the mountain to the front of the temple. Because of the distance and the fact that the area was now in twilight, with dim lighting, Song Jian could only make out the temple gate and a row of dark red brick walls.
Arriving at the foot of the mountain, Song Jian looked up to see two lanterns hanging beside the temple gate, eerily black, with a large white “Zhen” character painted on them.
These two lanterns cast an eerie ambiance over the entire temple. Although the temple gate was open, no one was coming or going, as if it were a land of the dead.
As Song Jian stepped onto the stone path leading to the top of the mountain, he hesitated after just a couple of steps; it seemed inadvisable to enter the temple so brazenly. He felt there was something inherently wrong, and after a moment’s hesitation, he skirted around the base of the mountain, looking for a more concealed way to enter the temple.
Soon, he saw a set of steps on one side of the small mountain. These steps were much narrower than the stone path in front of the temple, wide enough for only one person. On these steps, dark red stains appeared intermittently, looking almost like blood that had been spilled.
After thinking for a moment, Song Jian decided to enter the temple via these steps. A few steps later, a monk in gray robes emerged from the woods beside the staircase, hands clasped together, blocking Song Jian’s way.
