I have an Apocalypse City
Chapter 1255 - Chapter 1255 Chapter 1257 Idea

Chapter 1255: Chapter 1257: Idea Chapter 1255: Chapter 1257: Idea After the three elders of the Imperial Sword Sect had departed, Song Jian instructed the members of the alliance to begin searching throughout the City of Hope for the diagram of the Protection Array. If the diagram was still in existence, it would surely be located somewhere within the City of Hope.

If Song Jian were to search alone, it would likely take a vast amount of time and energy. Thus, he had to enlist the help of the alliance players to search. Once they found the diagram of the Protection Array, and combined it with the Purple Heaven Thunder Punishing Gods Array, they would be able to set up a defensive formation for the city capable of repelling attackers of the Legendary Realm. Once this formation was established, problems like the previous monster assaults on the city would no longer be a matter of concern.

“Do not worry, City Lord. Even if we have to dig three feet into the ground of the City of Hope, we will find that diagram!” Wang Qi assured Song Jian.

“Alright!” Song Jian nodded and asked, “How is the condition of Song Ya and the other two now?”

Song Ya and the other two were the ones who had entered the Mysterious Town with Song Jian and had been cursed. If Song Jian could not deliver the Demon Suppression Tower to the young girl of the town in time, their lives would be in great peril!

“They have mostly recovered now, but oddly, at some point, they were afflicted with a weakening effect causing them to experience an hour of weakness every day, during which their attributes are reduced by 80%. After an hour, the effect mysteriously disappears, and the duration is getting longer over time. Now they are weakened for over three hours each day!” Wang Qi frowned deeply and continued, “We’ve tried many methods, used various healing spells and potions, all to no avail. Even the divine arts from the Temple of Gods seem ineffective…”

Song Jian nodded, seeing that the young girl of the town hadn’t deceived him; she truly had placed a curse on the three. If he failed to deliver the Demon Suppression Tower to her in time, their fate would be dire indeed!

“Alright, I’ll be leaving the City of Hope for a few days in the hope of finding a cure for them…” Song Jian nodded and said.

It had already become a common occurrence for Song Jian to be away from the City of Hope. Wang Qi understood that keeping Song Jian in the City of Hope would only hold him back. Therefore, he was not surprised by Song Jian’s regular departures and simply nodded, advising him to be cautious.

After leaving the City of Hope, Song Jian immediately engaged in the Sword Flight Art, flying towards the previous Mysterious Town. Approaching within thirty li of the town, he suddenly felt his body grow heavy and plummeted harshly towards the ground.

Traces of formation energy swirled around Song Jian’s body. As he fell, he showed no sign of panic; instead, he carefully sensed the surrounding formation energy.

This was possible only because of the high level of his Formation Atlas skill; otherwise, he would not have been able to detect the formation energy at all.

“Is this… a no-fly array?” Song Jian thought to himself. He had not been flying very high, so even if he did nothing and just fell, he wouldn’t sustain any injuries.

Taking a deep breath, Song Jian eyed a large tree below. As he descended towards the crown of the tree, his right foot lightly touched the treetop, and his body suddenly drifted sideways towards the ground as lightly as a feather.

With the falling force dissipated, Song Jian gently landed on the ground. Looking at the thick mist ahead, he immediately summoned his stone golem, Gulu.

Standing over eighteen meters tall, the stone golem Gulu resembled a towering building. After being summoned, Gulu carefully scooped up Song Jian in his right hand and gently placed him on his shoulder. Under Song Jian’s directive, Gulu took giant strides towards the mist-covered Mysterious Town in the distance.

After the war to defend the city had ended, the Black Dragon returned to the poison swamp to continue guarding the Dragon Head Strange Tree. It seemed that only when the Dragon Head Strange Tree could no longer enhance the Black Dragon’s combat power would it cease the vigil and potentially agree to return and continue serving as Song Jian’s battle pet, engaging alongside him in battle. Considering the current closeness between the Black Dragon and Song Jian, there was a substantial likelihood that the Black Dragon would return to Song Jian’s side.

The Black Dragon boasted much greater aptitude than the stone golem Gulu but also displayed a greater pride. In contrast, Gulu was utterly loyal to Song Jian, never questioning his commands, even if it meant facing death–a command that Gulu would execute without hesitation!

Moreover, under Song Jian’s nurturing, the stone creature Gulu had reached the peak of third-tier combat power. Although its rank was still that of a Lord, its strength was comparable to that of a Commander-level BOSS. However, elevating the rank of a battle beast required a large number of promotion artifacts, a kind of treasure that was hard to come by and nearly impossible to buy with Doomsday Coins!

Standing on the shoulder of the stone creature Gulu, Song Jian swiftly arrived at the fog-shrouded Mysterious Town. Standing at the center of the town, his gaze fell on the Abyss Fortress he had entered before.

By then, the gates of the Abyss Fortress had been completely opened, and it was difficult to find any trace of the fortress’s former self. Thick tendrils had enveloped the entire structure, with countless vines extending into the gates of the fortress, circulating a blood-like energy that flowed rhythmically within them.

“Hey, it seems that the Imperial Sword Sect values you quite a bit, huh? They even imparted you their sect’s core technique, the Chaos Sword Canon!” A familiar voice rang out behind Song Jian.

Turning around, he once again saw that familiar figure of the girl.

“Here is the Demon Suppression Tower you wanted, I hope you will keep your word!” Song Jian took out a small tower radiating with a purple-golden glow from his inventory and tossed it towards the girl.

Watching the arc of purple-golden light traced by the tower through the air, Song Jian also felt a pang of heartache. It was a legendary-quality treasure, invaluable, and Song Jian had only managed to acquire three fragments after much effort, finally assembling them into a complete piece!

“Hehe, I thought at most you would bring back one or two fragments for me. I didn’t expect you to bring back a complete artifact!” The girl weighed the small tower in her hand, smiling at Song Jian.

“Now that I’ve given you the item, it’s time for you to lift the restrictions on my three friends, right?” Song Jian stared at the girl as he spoke.

The aura emanating from the girl was deep and vast. Even though Song Jian did not know her exact strength, it was certainly at least of the Legendary Realm, if not higher, which made him somewhat uneasy.

“Hehe, I am a descendant of the demon god Istana, why would I break my word to such an insignificant human like you?” Looking down on Song Jian with a contemptuous gaze, the girl raised her right hand, and the surrounding mist began to converge in her palm, forming three streams of vapor that rotated continuously, eventually coalescing into three black beetles, which emitted a “squeak squeak” chirping from her palm.

With a smile, the girl flicked the three beetles into the air. The beetles took flight, heading towards the direction where the City of Hope lay.

“Alright, the deal is done. The curse restrictions on your three friends have been lifted,” the girl said with a smile.

Song Jian nodded at the girl and controlled the stone creature, preparing to leave. He felt uncomfortable all over here; the girl’s strength was too formidable, and her moods too unpredictable. Song Jian just wanted to stay as far away from her as possible.

“By the way, do you have any thoughts on advancing to the Legendary Realm?” The girl suddenly asked, “I mean, in terms of rapid improvement!”

“No thoughts!” Song Jian said expressionlessly. After speaking, he issued the command to leave to the stone creature Gulu, but Gulu seemed as if it had not heard and stood still, unmoving.
