I Don't Want To Be An Omega In My Sister's Trashy Reverse Harem [BL] -
Chapter 46: Rin, The Chef!
Chapter 46: Rin, The Chef!
Rin trudged toward the kitchen with Niblet trailing after him. His bare feet padded softly against the cold marble floor, and he couldn’t help but glance around as they walked.
The hallway was dark and gloomy, but the second he opened the kitchen door, his breath caught.
"Holy... wow."
The kitchen was huge. No, huge didn’t even cover it... It was massive. It looked like a high-end culinary studio wrapped in pristine white marble and black counters that gleamed like they were polished daily. Rin blinked, expecting to see at least one sign of life... Perhaps... burnt crumbs, a faint smell of garlic... anything.
But there was nothing. The place was so clean, it was suspicious.
"Has anyone ever cooked here?" Rin whispered to himself.
Niblet barked once, sniffing around the floor with clear disinterest. Rin walked further in, trailing his fingers along the counters, as he was looking for some clue like a detective. He opened a few drawers and found the usual pots and pans... Except they weren’t the usual kind. Not the kind he had seen before.
"Okay... what the hell is this?" he muttered.
The pans were light, almost weightless, with runes etched along the handles. The pots glowed faintly when he touched them.
"Ohhh! Do they cook themselves?" Rin said, half-joking. "I’d love that."
He pulled a few out and set them on the counter. Then he began his hunt for ingredients.
He spotted a door on the far side of the kitchen and pushed it open. A gust of chilled air brushed against him. It was a storeroom... no, a magical food vault. The shelves lined the walls, stacked neatly with everything from vegetables to meat cuts, cheeses, and spices.
"Bingo."
He grabbed a basket from the shelf and started loading it up. Tomatoes, butter, cheese, chicken, potatoes, and a few herbs that looked like they could be basil and rosemary’s magical cousins.
It felt like a supermarket trip. Except that it was free.
Rin loaded everything onto the counter, staring at it. He wanted to see if anything was missing.
"I guess that’s all," he muttered and put on the apron hanging by a hook. He tried tying the string behind his back, arms twisting awkwardly.
"Ugh, why is this always the hardest part..." He grumbled, still struggling to tie it.
Then, a large hand took the apron tie from him.
"Here."
Rin froze as he let go of the tie.
The hand tightened the knot just a bit too tightly. Rin stood on his toes, flinching slightly as he made a soft sound.
’Wait! Was that...?’ he thought to himself as he slammed his hand to cover his mouth.
"...Did you just... moan?" Evan’s voice whispered close to his ears as his head leaned on Rin’s shoulder.
"No!" Rin spun, cheeks red. "I... I was just groaning! Not moaning. There’s a big difference. Thanks though."
Evan raised a brow and smirked. He leaned on the counter, eyeing the ingredients.
"Chicken and potatoes? Let me guess... soup?" Evan looked slightly disappointed. "I was hoping you’d try something new."
"Something new?" Rin asked, tilting his head to the side.
The Duke gazed at Rin for a beat too long, and Rin suddenly felt his lewd gaze on him. He flinched.
"Can you not look at me, sir? It’s uncomfortable,"
Evan’s eyes traced every bit of him.
"There’s no way I can stop staring. But you know... I could always skip dinner and have you instead."
"Please, leave," Rin pointed at the door, wearing a fake ’customer care’ smile on his face.
Evan chuckled darkly.
"Fine. I’ll go train outside. Call me when dinner is ready." He tapped Rin’s hand lightly before strolling out.
Rin exhaled heavily.
"Creep."
Niblet barked in agreement.
Rin then cracked his knuckles as a grin appeared on his face.
"Now, let’s make some fried chicken and fries..."
He got to work immediately.
Rin placed the chicken on a tray and examined the spices. They didn’t look like the spices from Earth, but the smells were strong and familiar... Something like garlic, thyme, chilli, and a smoky paprika-like blend.
"This will do..."
He marinated the chicken with a mix of these spices, salt, and what seemed like lemon juice. Then he added a splash of milk from a crystal bottle and a spoonful of honey.
He let the chicken soak while he peeled and sliced the potatoes into thin strips. He found a crystal-clear bottle of oil and poured it into one of the rune-pans. The base shimmered as the oil heated instantly.
"Oh, it really does cook itself."
Once the chicken was ready, he coated it in a flour mixture... some from a bag labelled with a glowing glyph, possibly wheat... and gently dropped it into the pan. It sizzled.
He fried the chicken until it was golden, then tossed in the potatoes. The fries came out crisp and perfect.
He tasted one of them and placed a hand on his cheek like one of those middle-aged women in drama.
"It tastes even better than KFC,"
Niblet barked close to him. He grabbed a handful and threw it at Niblet. He watched the dog chew everything on the floor.
"I wish he’d eat that every day and not my blood,"
Finally, he made a dipping sauce... a mixture of crushed tomatoes, chopped herbs, a spicy paste he found, and something that tasted oddly like mayonnaise. He whipped it together, seasoning with salt.
"I miss this..."
He missed cooking. Apart from his mother being the family cook, Rin learnt how to cook, instead of his sister. She was always busy with stuff and writing... So, Rin learnt instead and now, he was glad he didn’t refuse to learn it then.
.
.
Two hours later, Rin placed the last plate on the long dining table. He stared at his work... Which was obviously a work of art!
The golden, crispy fried chicken. Fries stacked like a crunchy mountain. A bowl of spicy dipping sauce. And... a bottle of magically chilled beer he found in the storeroom.
He grinned proudly.
"It suddenly feels like home. I guess I should call the Duke in for dinner,"
But then...
Thunder rumbled outside.
He jumped while Niblet barked. It was pouring hard.
Rin turned to the window.
"Wait... It’s raining?"
It was the first time that he’d seen rain since he arrived in that world.
Then, he panicked.
"Hold on! The Duke... he’s outside."
He flung off his apron and bolted out.
The rain hit him instantly, cold and hard. In seconds, he was drenched.
"Why is it raining so heavily? Should I head back?" He asked himself. But then, he wondered if the Duke would keep training outside if Rin didn’t call him in for Dinner.
"Fuck!" He cursed under his breath and then pushed through it.
He found the training yard behind the mansion, and sure enough, Evan was still there, shirtless and soaked, swinging a massive sword.
"DUKE VORTELLION!" Rin yelled.
Evan paused, with his sword hanging mid-air. Then, he turned around with a frown on his face.
"What the hell are you doing out here?"
"Dinner’s ready!" Rin shouted back, his hand hovering over his head because of the rain.
Evan walked over quickly and lifted Rin onto his shoulder like a sack.
"Hey! Put me down!"
"You’re soaked. Omegas are fragile and weak. You’ll get sick." Evan said.
"Sick? Because of the rain? I’m not a porcelain doll!" Rin kicked, but Evan didn’t let him go.
He was only set down once they were inside. A towel hit his face.
"Next time, don’t step out in the rain."
Rin grumbled, unbuttoned his wet shirt and wrapped the towel around his shoulder.
"Just go eat, you wet demon."
Evan smirked and walked to the dining room.
He stopped.
"What... is this?"
"Dinner," Rin grinned. "Fried chicken and fries."
"Fried... what?" He asked as he sat in the chair.
"Just dip the chicken in the sauce. Same with the fries." Rin pointed.
Evan did as Rin had explained, then took a bite.
His eyes widened.
"This... This is amazing." He chewed slowly. "It’s crispy, spicy, soft inside... What is this magic?"
Rin beamed, proudly.
"My kind of magic. Hehe!"
Rin began eating too. His hands could be seen all over the table as he stuffed his mouth.
"Oh, this tastes like heaven!"
He moaned in delight.
Evan blinked.
"Why don’t you quit your job and work in my estate?"
"No," Rin said through a mouthful of chicken.
"You didn’t even think about it,"
"I don’t need to think about it. I don’t want to work in your estate, Duke!" He made himself clear and Evan sat still, without saying anything. He just watched Rin silently.
He watched as the blanket slowly slid off Rin’s shoulder.
His eyes dropped down to his chest.
Rin’s pink nipples and pale skin were visible, the towel barely covered anything now.
Evan swallowed hard.
’Is this little omega tempting me? How can he be so... feminine?’
But Rin looked up.
"You’re not eating?"
"I’m full,"
"Then, can I eat all of this?" He asked, getting excited already.
"Of course... but, there’s sauce on your lips," Evan said, voice husky. "Come closer."
Rin leaned forward, puckering his lips.
He expected the duke to grab a napkin, but what he got was Evan’s tongue.
’Huh?’
His eyes shot wider.
The Duke leaned in, licking the sauce from Rin’s lips slowly, with their eyes locked.
Rin froze.
His heart slammed against his chest.
"What are you doing?" he whispered.
But Evan just smirked.
"I knew it... It tastes better if I eat it from your body,"
