Chapter 261: 173 Your death has already arrived (4000)_1 Chapter 261: 173 Your death has already arrived (4000)_1 Ding!
A metallic pillar about as thick as a finger was firmly pounded into the ground by a tremendous force, sinking about a third of the way in, while the remaining two thirds were just about waist-high to an adult.
The metallic pillar was perfectly black, with extremely fine grooves inscribed into its surface like thorns scaling a pillar.
On the road, black-clad individuals planted these pillars into the ground every few yards. And it wasn’t simply done randomly, but in a pattern with a clear rationale. From a top-view, one could see an incomplete black pattern gradually taking shape, like some sort of ceremony rail.
In particular, two muscular individuals clad in black are transporting a peculiar gadget, taking step after burdensome step towards the plaza at the heart of the mansion. After reaching their destination, the gadget was gently settled down.
This machine was a metallic pillar with a diameter about half the size of an average individual, with countless complex patterns covering its surface. Its structure was similar to a pile driver, encased in a framework with a drill pillar capable of moving up and down in the center. The drill bit possessed a transparent color similar to a gem, looking extremely hard and solid.
“Two hundred and nineteen individuals, a third of which are adult males,” said the curly-haired man, who had just finished glancing at the guest registration records of the mansion. With a light rub of his fingers, the entire notebook miraculously turned into white dust.
Swish! The dust was scattered by the wind across the ground.
“Number Five, is the magic water ceremony ready yet? Number Two wants you to hurry up,” a voice called out from the nearby shadows.
Immediately after, a tall and thin silhouette emerged from the fog. A man around thirty years old with a neat mustache, high nose-bridge, and hazel eyes. Sporting shoulder-length hair tied into a small braid at the back, he gave off the impression of an artistic painter from his art studio.
“I’ve said it before, don’t call me Old Five, call me Number Five, or call me Shockwave. Would you like it if others called you Old Four?” the curly-haired man retorted coolly, his expression revealing his disapproval.
“Also, don’t rush me. The position of each blood sacrifice pillar in the magic water ceremony must be extremely precise. The slightest miscalculation could lead to disaster. If any one pillar is misplaced, the ceremony won’t proceed, and unknown dangers might emerge.”
“Alright, alright, be careful. There absolutely cannot be any problems with the ceremony. This time, we want the fourth level crystallized black magic water. Hopefully, our first attempt will be successful.” The mustachioed man shrugged his shoulders, his eyes filled with anticipation.
They are members of an organization called the White Skull Organization.
They represent the radicals among the New Humans, believing that humans are merely degenerate and outdated beings, no better than swine. They disregard life and often treat human lives as expendable.
They had previously carried out several terror attacks across the Hong Li Federation.
The main objective of these attacks was related to the current magic water ceremony.
Decades ago, several special areas displaying supernatural phenomena appeared across the globe. Within these areas, black magic water could be found.
Normally, to obtain black magic water, one would have to enter these special areas and explore, hoping to stumble upon it by chance. Success mostly depended on luck, with experience playing a minor role.
The White Skull Organization differs in their approach. They mastered a nefarious, secret method which used numerous blood sacrifice pillars to form a large-scale ritual. The lives of all humans within the scope of the ritual would be extinguished. The vitality of these lives would then be harvested and collected by the ceremonial rails.
This would repeatedly attract the black magic water present in the special region, forming a fountain of extremely high concentration.
“If there are no accidents, the probability of success is quite high,”
The curly-haired man glanced at the plaza where several muscular men were working to position the largest of the metallic pillars, constantly adjusting its position to ensure no errors occur during the actual ceremony.
“No accidents… heh heh… there will definitely be accidents.”
Number Four massaged his chin, squinting his eyes.
“Are you referring to those annoying flies? Heh heh… They’ve been doggedly pursuing us ever since we killed a bunch of swine. They claim to be New Humans, yet they’re willing to mix with ordinary humans. It just proves that they’re all base and despicable.” Number Five realized what the ‘accident’ could be.
Number Four slowly shook his head, “The Silver Organization has some experts, like Silver Spear Soro. Number Six’s death three months ago is somehow connected to him, or he might even be the one responsible for killing him.”
“Didn’t they say he was ambushed? If it was truly Soro leading the assault, then he is at least an A-grade New Human. If he fought one-on-one, his ranking could possibly be an A+!”
Number Five, the curly-haired man, furrowed his brows. The White Skull Organization had a total of ten team leaders, each designated a number from one to ten.
The weakest of them was Number Ten, a B+ in the New Human classification. However, Number Ten had a special supportive ability and thus retained his position as team leader despite being the weakest.
The remaining nine team leaders were all ‘A’ grade New Humans, ranging from A-, ‘A’, to A+. Number Six, although he had already reached the ‘A’ grade and had formidable combat capabilities, still met his untimely end during a solo mission three months ago.
This time, for the mission at Anta Mountains, the White Skull Organization had deployed three team leaders. Namely Number Five, Number Four, and Number Two, all of whom were higher-ranking team leaders adept at combat. This underlines how serious the White Skull Organization is regarding this mission.
The deployment of the three combat-focused team leaders also had something to do with the conflict three months ago. The Silver Organization and the White Skull Organization are extremes of each other: one embraces humans while the other despises them.
