Chapter 260: 172 Thank you for your eighteen generations of ancestors (4000)_2 Chapter 260: 172 Thank you for your eighteen generations of ancestors (4000)_2 Through this process, Casio grew increasingly impressed with the beleaguered magician. The magician was quite a talent, regularly breaking out of tricky situations in unexpected ways. For example, when they encountered the third Steam Demon Puppet, the magician pretended to flee but secretly set up fine metal wires which were difficult to detect at night.
The metal wires were controlled by telekinesis and were deeply embedded in two tree trunks. The unsuspecting Steam Demon Puppet charged directly into it, resulting in a sparkly flash and the puppet’s metal helmet-like head directly dropping off. It essentially decapitated itself using its own force. However, there was a slight disappointment.
The Steam Demon Puppet had a strong regenerative ability.
Although it wasn’t as extreme as immortality, it did require the destruction of most of its body or dismemberment to fully take it down.
Hence, the Steam Demon Puppet survived.
It was then blasted by Casio, who arrived just in time.
Under the moonlight, Casio strode forward. Several meters diagonally across, a Steam Demon Puppet staggered towards him.
“Why does this puppet have such a strange running posture?”
Casio immediately moved backward with caution. He then utilized the surrounding trees as obstacles to maneuver and pull the Steam Demon Puppet. This tactic was based on the advantage that Casio was much faster. It wasn’t something a normal person should try.
After a few seconds, he drew a conclusion.
It was the doing of that magician again. He had manipulated the metal wire using telekinesis to approach the Steam Demon Puppet. He then tied a knot around the puppet’s ankle, turning it into something like a shackled chain.
By doing so, he restricted the pace of the Steam Demon Puppet. It couldn’t take large strides and therefore, couldn’t catch up with the magician. Unlike normal humans, the puppet lacked self-awareness.
It didn’t realize the abnormality with its feet and try to free itself.
Next, either the metal wire would shatter under repeated force, or the Puppet’s ankles would break.
Either way, it gave the magician a temporary relief.
A few meters away from Casio, the Steam Demon Puppet progressed awkwardly, its ankles entwined by a shiny silver thread.
“Interesting.”
Before his words settled down, an afterimage flashed before the puppet.
A hand, strong as iron, lifted the rocky puppet effortlessly into mid-air.
Swoosh!
His arm, like a spear, pierced through the air, it smashed through the puppet’s chest amid a howling noise, creating a vortex of stone powder and cold, dark steam.
Casio shook his arms and the puppet split open.
His right hand retracted like lightning, revealing a specialty steel wire as fine as a strand of hair, giving off a sharp and icy sensation.
In the moonlight, Casio rolled the wire in his hand and simply broke it by pulling with both hands. The wire snapped and curled up.
The magician was an interesting character, or it could be said that he thought more out of the box than the usual transcendent beings, rather brilliant.
In the time of the Bronze Ring’s retrospection, Casio had seen the power of the masses. Together, they could mercilessly shut down the Black Rain Villa. If it were only Casio left during the final battle, he definitely wouldn’t be able to complete the obsession of twilight.
The feeling of having unanimous support was exhilarating.
Back in the real world, Casio happened to be the fourth in command in the Black Spade “A” Organization’s Assassination Department. In theory, he should have his assassination team, many underlings. If he really decides to form a team, the Black Spade “A” Organization would gladly fund it.
As for personnel, they would mostly be transferred assassins.
Casio didn’t think highly of them, although he could cultivate a foundation over time, he needed one or two capable individuals to begin with.
The magician, a psychic, was quite powerful. His combat style was sly, and his techniques were innovative. Plus, he was quite cautious and adaptable. Perhaps he could be a good asset.
In high spirits, Casio followed once more in big strides.
Five minutes later, in a clearing within the forest.
“Pant…pant…pant…”
The magician was panting heavily, his chest heaving. The lining of his suit was completely soaked in sweat.
After all, his physical quality wasn’t like Catwoman’s. Being a psychic, his strength came from his telekinetic power rather than physical quality. Naturally, during a high-intensity running escape, his energy drained rapidly.
“Huff…” He gasped heavily.
Looking back, he saw a mass of fog closing in rapidly.
“Goddamn! The puppet is still after me!”
The magician turned around and violently swung his right hand, causing two steel balls to instantly fly out, whirring away as they accelerated thanks to his telekinesis.
He didn’t bother to look back at the result, his face turning even more pale as he continued to run. The magician’s telekinetic energy was almost depleted.
The grey-black fog lingered in place, only a few seconds later…
A tall silhouette emerged from inside. He held in his left hand a helmet that had been twisted out of shape, while in his right hand, he held the two steel balls. Watching the exhausted figure of the magician, Casio quietly murmured, “Still too weak, is this his limit…”
Throughout the chase, Casio had been doggedly hanging back, neither revealing himself nor giving up. Every so often, as the magician seemed unable to go on, he would approach, drawing the attention of the steam demon puppet, keeping the magician on edge.
Casio wanted to see what kind of character the magician would display under sustained life-and-death pressure, this was the trial Casio had set for him.
If the magician passed the trial, he could become part of Casio’s team.
Magician: Thanks for thinking so highly of me, torturing me in this way, and please also extend my thanks to your eighteen generations of ancestors.

At the same time, somewhere else, close to the Blue Star Villa.
Yana, Ali, and Lo, having finally made it back to the concrete road, were all drenched in sweat and their cheeks were flushed with heat.
The fear had made them run back home as quickly as they could because they were just kids and it was normal to be afraid.
Even adults would most likely have reacted in the same way.
“Phew…finally made it back. I’m dead beat,” Yana said, rubbing her slender and fair legs, her long hair stuck to her cheeks.
“Huh? Why is it getting foggy?”
Red-haired Ali looked around and saw grey fog moving in from both sides of the road, spreading in all directions like flowing sea water under the moonlight, creating an obscure scenery.
Blue-eyed Lo also looked up towards the distance. The Blue Star Villa was there, where the entire villa was now shrouded in fog. It was as if it was an enormous entity lying in the clouds, and it looked strange and unfamiliar.
Dense fog layered upon layer, inside the unseen Blue Star Villa.
The grey fog billowed, touching the buildings and the ground as though it whispered while moving along the soft veil.
The villa was very quiet, there was no noise.
In each of the residential rooms, at each of the staff’s posts, they were all silently sleeping. Some were laying on their beds, others were slumped next to the toilet, and others were leaning on the floor.
Swoosh!
A pair of black boots broke the silence.
In the fog, a group of people dressed in black entered the villa. They all wore a silver watch with a skull shape on their right hand.
On the surface of their shoulders, there was the logo of a white clock.
At the forefront of the group, a man wearing three silver rings on his hand stopped and looked up. His skin was pale, his hawk-like nose was noticeable, his brown hair was curly, and his eyes were indifferent. He has an aura of grimness that was quite oppressive.
He then lowered his head slowly.
Below him was a man in a security guard’s uniform.
“These pig-headed fools are sleeping…. heh heh….”
The man sneered coldly, then stomped his foot down. A dull thud echoed as dust flew up, causing a tingling sensation on the foot soles of the men behind him.
“How many people are in the Blue Star Villa in total?” He asked.
“Reporting to the captain, there are 219 people.”
Someone replied.
“Should be enough, right? If not, we can capture more from down the hill, after all they are all ordinary fools. They are just right to be used as cannon fodder.”
A cruel smile spread across the curly-haired man’s face.
Immediately, the group continued their march towards the centre of the villa, leaving behind a headless corpse back where they started and a line of blood stains that slowly spread out as if it were the trail left by a devil.
