Chapter 180: 137 Akaba Ruins (4100)_1 Chapter 180: 137 Akaba Ruins (4100)_1 “Bang!”
A dark heavy fist swung like a meteor hammer, hitting hard on the chin of the humanoid monster. The creature was thrown violently, crashing into the wooden door at the side of the street. With a crack sound, the wooden door shattered into yellow and white splinters.
Casio walked over, his expression cold.
The sound of his rain boots crunching against the doorframe echoed.
Whoosh!
A claw, as crinkled and dry as a tree branch, suddenly reached out from the darkness. The five-pointed icy gleam aimed straight for Casio’s neck.
Snap!
A strong hand collided with the claw, fingers swiftly contracted. The immense power surged like a torrential flood.
“Ahhh!!!”
A piercing shriek echoed from the shadows like a crying infant.
The claw that had reached out had been crushed into a pulp, its bones and meridians twisted and entwined with the skin.
Whoosh.
A strong roaring sound passed through the air.
It was Casio, using his strength to lift the creature in the darkness, swinging it in the air like a meteor hammer.
The pale creature that looked like a mummy wailed and shrieked in the air before crashing heavily onto the ground. It was then immediately lifted up again, and brought down against a wall. The sound of the hard impact echoed like beating a drum.
“Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang …”
Crack!
The mummified creature’s arm fell off, its entire body being thrown like a flying trapeze artist. It skidded across the ground, leaving a long trail of marks. In the end with a splat sound, its bloody, pulpy head crashed against a solid wall.
It convulsed a few times as if electrocuted.
Afterwards it slumped, legs stretching out. It was dead.
Whoosh.
An arm, dry as a tree trunk, flew over and landed precisely on the arm of the mummy.
From a distance, it looked like a drunkard collapsed at the street corner.
Seemingly sleeping sweetly.
In the distance, Casio had already turned and departed. Black Blade and Iri obediently followed closely behind, not daring to stray.
They’d begun to understand that they’d entered into the mysterious and dangerous unknown of the Black Rain Villa. It was likely those areas marked by warning signs. From the rumors circulating among the Eerie Night Guests, if one gets lost in such a place the chance of finding a way out was practically zero. Whether they were alone or in a group.
On the grey street, square grey residential buildings stood on both sides, looking like distinctive building blocks.
Even during the day, the Black Rain Villa was dim. Some of these residential buildings had oil lamps lit. From the windows and doorways, one could see a dim yellow glow and the blurred outlines of people inside.
The sound of an old man coughing, a couple arguing, a baby crying, the scraping of moving furniture, the noise of people ascending and descending the stairs….
This street was both quiet and noisy at once, resembling a thriving living community, filled with human warmth.
However, Iri felt only creepiness.
This wasn’t some vibrant city or town, but the world in the rain, the Black Rain Villa! The more normal it seemed, the more weird it was. The quieter it seemed, the more horrifying it was. The more common it seemed, the more spooky it was. How could there be ordinary people in the villa?!
“Tap tap tap…”
The three walked with steady and forceful steps, Black Blade and Iri following Casio’s rhythm. If not for him, they would have already fled like rabbits in the face of the eerie situation.
Iri’s heart pounded wildly as he swallowed hard.
Suddenly!
A drunk man wielding a wine bottle darted out of a nearby shop.
Iri was nearly scared enough to have a cardiac arrest on the spot.
The drunk man grabbed Iri’s arm instantly: “Kind sir, lend me some money! Let me buy another bottle of wine! I…”
Bang!
The drunken man’s head exploded like a ripe melon.
A large hand reached out and directly stuck the wine bottle into his severed neck. The fist then hammered into him like a pile driver. The glass bottle was forcefully shoved down his blood-spewing neck.
“Fuck!”
Seeing the bloody scene at such close proximity, Iri’s eyes bulged larger than bells. He stuttered, pointing shakily at the bleeding corpse.
Meanwhile, a shadow whipped past him and propelled the corpse away, sending it flying several meters instantly.
“Don’t just stand there. Hurry up.”
Casio’s cold voice brought Iri back to his senses.
He immediately wiped the blood off his face and sprinted forward.
Five minutes later at the entrance of a shop-like building.
A towering figure blocked the entrance. Each roaring monster that charged from within was grabbed by him and forced into the wall next door like a hammer. The continuous mighty impact made the entire building tremble.
Not much later.
The grey wall grew four to five half-human-half-bull creatures, their lifeless limbs dangling slightly as they swayed.
“The appearance rate of monsters is getting higher…”
Casio dusted off his hands.
Either it meant he was close to the border of the normal zone in Black Rain Villa and a horde of monsters were gathering to block him, or Casio had entered an even more dangerous and bizarre region, going in the opposite direction from the goal.
He believed his luck wouldn’t be that awful.
“We’re almost out. Stay close to me!”
Casio turned his head, assuredly told the two. Black Blade and Iri nodded heads vigorously like pecking chicks, understanding that their survival depended on following Casio’s pace.
Sensing the seemingly nonexistent danger ahead.
Casio slowly exhaled hot breath and quickly removed his cloak, passing it to Iri beside him.
