I Can Program My Body?
Chapter 123: Increasing Profits

Chapter 123: Increasing Profits

Fighting Matteo, Nash held back more of his strength, not wanting to hurt and delay their operation later.

With most of his void energy channeled into raw power, Matteo was more fragile.

In just thirty seconds, one of his arms was broken, and his nose began to bleed.

Yet, instead of giving up, Matteo grew fiercer, attacking without caring for his life.

Unfortunately, power without speed or flexibility could never hit Nash.

Even so, even when his body was about to collapse, he still didn’t give up.

"Enough. You’re qualified to join our team," Nash said, impressed.

This was another ruthless fighter. If Nash hadn’t stopped the fight, he doubted Matteo would have surrendered.

"It’s over already? Come on, let’s fight a bit longer!" Matteo urged, licking his lips.

"This isn’t about winning or losing. I’m just assessing your ability," Nash said, shaking his head.

"Then can we fight a little longer?" Matteo muttered, still unsatisfied.

"No."

"But—"

"Tsk, Boss said it’s enough, don’t be so crazy!" Colson quickly held back his friend.

Ignoring the battle-crazed warrior, Nash walked toward the dozens of people taking the assessment.

---

Ten minutes later, the test ended.

Collecting the papers, Nash quickly reviewed them.

"Not bad. Fifteen of you passed!"

He hadn’t expected to recruit as many as fifteen knowledgeable void warriors.

With such a team, their efficiency in gathering herbs would soar.

Dismissing those who didn’t pass the test, Nash began to gather the team.

"Have you listed everyone, Kye?" he asked his assistant.

Kye was the most meticulous member of the team, which led Nash to assign him to handle these miscellaneous tasks.

"Yes, including you, boss, we have 32 people: five four-star void warriors and 26 three-star void warriors. But William didn’t show up. Do you know what happened, boss?"

"Hmm, William had other business and won’t be able to join us for a while." After explaining, Nash began briefing the newcomers on their roles, positions, protocols, communication signals, and more.

Next on the list was the profit share. Nash would get 35% of the profit, the four-star void warriors would each receive 4% of the total harvest, while the remaining 25 members would get 1.5% to 2% based on their seniority and ability.

Having covered the basics, Nash led everyone to the Willow Jungle.

---

Twelve hours later, after spending all their time on the Dark Plane, the newly formed team completed their first operation.

Returning to the Dark Willow Shelter, they couldn’t wait to sort through their harvest.

"Whoa! So much! This has to be at least double our last haul!"

"No, this pile must be worth at least 500 thousand merits, right?"

"It has to be! Haha, the Verdant Group must feel like eating dirt right now!"

Looking at the pile of herbs and imagining the sour expressions of those evaluators from the Verdant Group, they couldn’t help but laugh.

As expected, when Leslie and the evaluators arrived at their residence and saw the heap of herbs, more than double their usual amount, their faces looked like someone had died.

"Are you sure you didn’t buy these herbs from a third-party source?" Leslie asked, seeking confirmation.

"It’s freshly dug from the soil," Nash replied with a confident smile.

"Hmph! Just checking!" Though Leslie knew Nash wouldn’t dare cheat the Verdant Group, she was still bitter.

With this many herbs, how could they make a living?

Wasn’t this like treating them as unpaid laborers?

Familiar with the process, it didn’t take long to calculate the herbs’ worth.

"Everything’s worth about 560 thousand merits," the evaluator said coldly.

"What?! 560 thousand?! Haha, we made it!"

"With our share, that’s over ten thousand merits each!"

"Haha, as expected, more people means more money!"

Seeing the group jumping in celebration, the evaluator quickly packed up the herbs and left as if fleeing a plague.

"See you tomorrow!"

"Bring more people so you can count even faster!"

"Alright, don’t tease them," Nash said, reining in the team.

"Haha, we’re just happy, boss! This is the first time we’ve earned over ten thousand merits in a single hunt."

"Indeed, this is more than ten times our usual income. We couldn’t be happier!" one of the people who just joined the team said.

Even as a three-star void warrior, they would be lucky enough to earn a thousand merits in a single hunt.

Earning ten times that amount felt like a dream.

"It’s our luck to have joined such a mighty boss!"

"Should we have a celebration for the new team, boss?"

"Of course, how could we forget to celebrate?" Nash smiled, equally satisfied with their harvest.

Though his share dropped from 50% to 35%, his income still rose from about 100 thousand to roughly 200 thousand merits.

This was still because most of the new members were still unfamiliar with the work. With a little training and full integration into the team, their harvest could increase by another 100 thousand.

The only problem was that the herbs in the Willow Jungle would deplete faster.

After harvesting all the herbs in the Willow Jungle, they could only go to the Willow Swamp next.

However, recalling the geography of the Willow Swamp, Nash knew it held far fewer herbs than the Willow Jungle.

Thinking about this problem, he couldn’t help but think about the Willow Primeval Forest, a mid-scale danger zone.

With their large numbers, if they grew a bit stronger, they should have no trouble venturing into the danger zone’s periphery.

Plus, earning over 10 thousand merits every hunt, they should be able to increase their saturation rate to at least a hundred percent before they clear the Willow Jungle.

Unlike Nash, who needed millions of merits to increase each hundred percent of his void saturation, they only required hundreds of thousands.

Given time and a bit of comprehension, they could become a four-star void warrior in the coming days.

Having thought it through, Nash judged it highly feasible.

As they celebrated, Nash clinked his glass on the table.

"Once we’ve finished combing the Willow Jungle, we’ll head straight to the Willow Primeval Forest."

"In the coming weeks, you’d better train and prepare with all your heart."

"We’re going to the Willow Primeval Forest next?!"
