Chapter 67: Son of Providence
Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Son of Providence
Qin De and his friend Hong found themself in a barren terrain where it was just sand as far as the eye could see. Fortunately, it wasn’t just the two of them who were here but also Yu Fen and her squad, Gong Jun and last but definitely not least, Grey was actually with them.
The girls were enamoured by Grey’s handsomeness and kept stealing at him. Grey remained composed and kept looking around as though he was trying to figure something out. The sky was dark with twinkling stars and it has always been like this but the high concentration levels of Death Qi further debuffed and weakened all non-demon.
"Qin De, why are you here?! Were you secretly following us with that foul mouth friend of yours?! How shameless!"
"Yeah, everywhere we go you’re there! What’s your problem, Yu Fen doesn’t like you! She doesn’t love you, not even a single bit, instead, she’s disgusted by you! Get that through your thick skull!"
Yu Fen’s entourage immediately got on Qin De’s case just after seeing him. The more they spoke, the darker Qin De’s expression became.
"Keep quiet, I can’t organise my thoughts with all your barking!" said Gong Jun when Qin De was about to speak. Everyone except Grey had expressions of shock and utter disbelief. This was because Gong Jun was known to be a crazy person. According to rumours, Gong Jun was a genius who could master techniques after practicing a few times.
One day, an unknown figure gave Gong Jun a Six Star Cultivation Technique to practice but went insane right after reading it. From young till now, Gong Jun wasn’t mentally stable but now here he was, talking normally like everyone.
Gong Jun ignored everyone and looked at the sky that was filled with stars but he seemed to see something else.
’I only have one chance to do this so I should make it count. Fortunately, this place is highly concentrated with Nether Qi, much better than before. Just what is this place?’ thought Gong Jun as he sat cross legged, closed his eyes and made hand seals. The Death/Nether Qi was devoured by him in large quantities, making his skin very pale, turned his hair grey and a ghostly aura was released by him.
[GO!] he shouted as he opened his eyes which were now reptilian and filled with malice. A phantom and ghostly snake came out of him and ascended into the sky at incredible speed. Only Grey could see the snake and the rest didn’t see it, as the snake flew up, it mutated, growing four dragon claws, scales and horns and its body enlarged many times over. By the time it reached outer space, it was larger than even the Nether Tree. It then opened its mouth wide and a powerful suction force pulled everything into its mouth and swallowed.
It seemed satisfied with what it had eaten and flew back into the Demon Plane and entered Gong Jun’s body.
’With this, I can finally achieve it! I can finally create the Phantom Dragon Physique!’
...
<Gozzl, my ten Venerable Ghosts have just been devoured by that Phantom Dragon Soul>
<I saw. And judging by its strength, it was definitely above the Venerable Realm so how could those ghosts resist.>
<That’s not the point! Many Venerables will soon invade this place and I don’t even have a single Rank 13 Demon to contend with them. Plus, I keep having this that something else is at play here. Soon, this place will become a chaotic place with corpses everywhere.> said the Nether Tree.
<But isn’t that what you wanted. With more people dying here, it will be good fertiliser for new demons of this new Plane to be born and it will also boost the Plane’s growth. Once that happens, we can finally alleviate some of the pressure from the Realm Spirit. Relax and just go with the flow, we now have a foothold in the Life Domain and no one important is paying attention to us.>
<I wonder just what the Realm Lords are so preoccupied with that they even ignore the greatest threat right under their nose.>
...
When Zixin woke up, he felt that something about him had changed and felt that the change would affect even his future so he inspected himself. He hadn’t undergone any physical changes so he checked his internal system because that was the second thing about him that could be checked, the Soul and Body were one so he couldn’t check it.
’Mhm, what’s this?’ thought Zixin after analysing his internal system. The only change Zixin noticed was that of his hearts had changed. Initially, he had two hearts but now he only had one heart and it wasn’t a normal heart in any way, shape or form.
Zixin’s new heart wasn’t shaped like the gourd that entered his body because it was the gourd but the insect totems had disappeared. The heart was also bigger than all his organs and even contained an empty small world inside it. With every heartbeat, an unknown and mysterious energy was sent into Zixin’s blood.
Just as Zixin wondered what the gourd was used for, a vast amount of information poured into his brain, leaving him in a dazed state as he absorbed and read all the information. While in the dazed state, the Nether Tree tattoo on his back slowly faded away but didn’t disappear forever, instead, the NetherTree tattoo reappeared on the gourd heart.
On the tree bark and leaves, the insect totems appeared there and the shape of blue flame leaves changed shape into that of insects like ants, centipedes, spiders, wasps, mosquitoes, etc.
It took Zixin a month to read through all the information that the gourd heart had sent him but the gains were also m astronomical, so much that Zixin couldn’t believe it.
’Am I actually the Son of Providence or something? Why do I keep receiving all the good stuff?’
To cut things short, Zixin basically obtained the Insect Gu Inheritance, he now had extensive and detailed information about Insect Gu, where they lived, what they ate, their evolution paths, everything and to top it off, Zixin could become a Gu Master and with it, could potentially reach the realms of Immortals and beyond.
