"Gentlemen and ladies, I called you here because there’s ompletely news to discuss. The Red Rose Sect is no more."

"I’m looking into that but there’s been rumours about Demonic Sect members sighting at Hong City. Lily’s remains were found on the site but..."

"But what?"

The sky was currently covered in dark clouds and exuded great pressure on anyone or anything close to Wan Shui. It was like the end of the world had come as the eye of the storm slowly opened. Wan Shui was currently undergoing his second Lightning Tribulation into the Soul Formation Realm and this one felt stronger and more dangerous than the previous one.

All Qi Cultivators undergo Lightning Tribulations after they reach the Soul Formation Realm and above, this is because cultivation is the act of going against the heavens and the heavens don’t take kindly to challenges. Tiger and Fatso were about nine kilometres away from Wan Shui but the pressure of the tribulation still reached them.

There’s two ways to overcome the tribulation, first is facing it head on and the second option is the use of protection treasures to shield you till the tribulation ends. The only benefit the tribulation grants is removing impurities from one’s body but there are many treasures and pills with similar effects. Surviving the tribulation head on grants you the weakened state where anyone can kill you and take away your belongings.

"Wan Shui, you are my lucky star. I was just thinking about where to find lightning and you brought it to me, well done!" said Zixin and gazed at the sky with fear and excitement. He stood in front of Wan Shui to protect him from the tribulation.

Zixin then activated the Lightning Refined Pure Body Technique and waited for the lightning to strike down. From within the eye of the storm, a flicker of light could be seen and in the next moment.

BOOOOOM!!!

The first lightning bolt struck Zixin, Zixin felt excruciating pain no weaker than the Burning Flesh attacks but he clenched his teeth and endured it. The lightning bolt was then forcibly absorbed into his body.

BOOOOOM!!!

The second lightning bolt struck and Zixin absorbed it too, then the third, the fourth and the fifth were successfully absorbed into his body but Zixin felt like his body was completely paralysed from the lightning bolts that struck him. Each lightning bolt was stronger than the last, making Zixin wonder just how people managed to survive this onslaught.

He was saying this because he could feel that the lightning bolts main target was the Soul, if the Soul is dead then naturally the body would follow. A newly formed Soul was too weak to bear such powerful attacks and would die in just a few strikes. What Zixin didn’t know was that ninety nine percent of cultivators didn’t survive the Lightning Tribulation, only a few lucky ones managed to do it.

BOOOOOM!!!

The sixth lightning bolt struck down, followed by the seventh, the eighth and when the ninth lightning bolt struck, Zixin felt like he was about to die because of how powerful it was and how long it lasted.

’Bloody heavens! Are you bullying me?!’

Zixin’s expression became crazed as he bled out from his eyes, ears, nose and mouth. He then clenched his fists and endured the last lightning bolt.

’I will not be bullied! Not by the likes of you or anyone! I will... FIGHT BACK!’

Zixin used all the strength in his body and punched at the sky with his improved Four Steps Of Disaster Technique that he could now use with his fist, this was only possible because he’d already mastered the Explosion Earthquake and fully understood its mechanism.

The attack only managed to weaken the lightning bolt by a small margin because the attack wasn’t perfect since he was executing it for the first time but even that small margin was enough for him to bear with the final lightning bolt until it too was absorbed into his body. After the tribulation ended, Zixin fell on his knees and breathed heavily, his body was covered in blood because he was bleeding from even his pores.

"Master, here, take some healing pills." said Wan Shui and offered Zixin some pills but Zixin didn’t move an inch and remained in his kneeling position. How could he accept the pills when he was paralysed from head to toe, he couldn’t even speak. Seeing this, Wan Shui thought that Zixin was too tired to take the pills so he fed him the healing pills, and a few minutes later, Zixin’s condition became better.

"Thank you." said Zixin before sitting cross legged and refining the tribulation lightning that was trying to tear his body inside out. Wan Shui also released his Gaseous Soul and unexpectedly, it was in the shape of two swords, meaning that he could use two swords at the same time, Wan Shui was extremely happy with this result.
