I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 648 - 646: Fighting Godzilla?_1
Chapter 648: Chapter 646: Fighting Godzilla?_1
Amidst the sound of gunfire, individuals wearing varying battle suits exited their vehicles. Unlike the surrounding soldiers providing cover fire against the zombies, they did not follow a strict military order and seemed rather disorderly in comparison.
They were not soldiers, but rather bounty hunters of great renown within the Chenyang 169 Base, powerful high-level new humans!
"Kill!"
The bounty hunters unsheathed their weapons, whether they be swords or spears, to confront the Speed Type Zombies [Raiders] approaching from the side, cutting off their attack!
Without a zombie defense wall, the most terrifying thing about fighting a horde of zombies is the prospect of a zombie known for its speed blindsiding you from the side. It was nearly impossible to defend against. Thus, the bounty hunters’ task was to kill the Speed Type Zombies attempting a surprise attack!
"Kill!"
"Charge!"
The bounty hunters, while displaying a fierce determination, also greedily eyed the advancing high-level evolution zombies. For them, their mission was secondary. The most important thing was the Evolution Crystal in the brains of the high-level zombies!
The soldiers formed a long line, with turret gun muzzles collectively demonstrating their power. Frontline zombies fell like wheat being harvested, and the soldiers trampled over the dead bodies in their march towards the city!
"Hey, doesn’t the base have a Level 5 New Human? Why is he not here for such an important battle?"
Chen Zhouquan, wielding a laser weapon that was leagues bigger than others around him, fired, all the while scanning his surroundings. Not finding what he was looking for, he asked the young man next to him. This man was none other than Shishe Tangye, the peculiar gold-rimmed glasses wearer.
"Ha, look at all these zombies. There are too many for even a Level 6 New Human to handle. Besides, isn’t this your first time? Although you’re a Level 4 New Human and will probably surpass me in the future, you still have to listen to me since I’m your squad leader."
Chen Zhouquan nodded, "Mmm, I’m new here."
Having just arrived at the Chenyang 169 Base, the Chen brothers were supposed to be in the middle of their training. However, the appearance of the Level 5 Water Guanyin stirred up quite the commotion.
Perhaps the high-level new humans in the base were scared, or there were too few high-level new humans available, so the new humans in training were mobilized. Chen Zhouquan was one of them, while Chen Zhouan worked in the Logistics Team. As a Level 4 New Human, he was very efficient at transport tasks.
"You don’t know how terrifying our target is because you haven’t seen the Water Guanyin."
"What’s so scary about a Level 5 zombie..." Chen Zhouquan mumbled. He was aware of Tangye’s rank - Level 6. At the time, it gave both him and Chen Zhouan quite the scare. But this wasn’t the main point. The key was Tangye’s ability, seemingly straight out of a cultivator’s playbook.
Because of Tangye’s impression, he inadvertently underestimated Level 5 zombies. He had seen with his own eyes how Tangye nonchalantly rode a Level 5 zombie tiger, chasing after a Level 5 New Human and beating them to a pulp.
So in his mind, he was only afraid of Level 6 zombies.
The young man let out a cynical laugh, "This isn’t your average Level 5 zombie. You do know that different species have different strengths after evolution, right? For example, even if an ant evolves to Level 5, it can still easily be squashed by a Level 2 New Human. Right now, we’re the ants, and the Level 5 zombie is like a giant mutated creature from the ocean, likely a hundred meters tall."
Chen Zhouquan was stunned for a moment before cursing, "F*ck, are we fighting Godzilla?"
"Pretty much."
The man’s expression turned gloomy as he replied.
"Suppose so."
However, Chen Zhouquan suddenly realized something. His brows furrowed, and a grave look appeared in his eyes.
"Is it really that big?"
"Mmm, that thing is more than a Level 5 New Human can withstand. So, it’s useless for them to be here. We can only rely on sacrificing lives to fight it. This Level 5 New Human is needed more within the base to maintain order. Otherwise, if he is accidentally killed, the base would fall into chaos. Look at their faces, and you’ll know how terrifying what we’re about to face."
The man pointed towards the other soldiers with gloomy expressions on their faces.
Click, click!
Chen Zhouquan replaced his depleted energy stick, took out a new one from his waist, and inserted it into the magazine, continuing his assault on the wave of zombies.
He still wanted to ask something when a non-commissioned officer came over and called his name.
"Hey, Chen Zhouquan, you’re a Level 4 New Human, right? Get down here and take this thing. A Level 4 zombie is coming. Its defense is too strong and this side can’t hold it off anymore. It’s up to you."
After saying this, he tossed a zombie-slicing sword made of H-steel to Chen Zhouquan and quickly left.
"F*ck, they want me to go on a suicide mission."
He grumbled unhappily, but what could he do? When they recruited him, they asked if he was willing. For the fifty Yajin reward, though he had no idea of its purchasing power, others said it was a huge sum, and he felt invigorated because of it, so he came.
Chen Zhouquan cursed and grumbled as he ran to the front. Another non-commissioned officer approached the young man.
"Fu Yangyang."
"Present!"
"Come down, take this, and go to the back to help. Let others replace you."
"Yes, sir!"
After responding, Fu Yangyang hesitated but ran towards the back with the glove handed to him by the officer.
"Follow me, those over there! Fight your way into the horde! Watch your backs, three men back to back. Stay vigilant!"
A Level 4 New Human, discarding his long sword for two 35-centimeter-long claw blades, led dozens of others into the horde. His murderous intent directly pointed at a high-level power type zombie in the distance!
Chen Zhouquan was also handed two claw blades and was shoved into the crowd before he could comprehend what was happening.
The most terrifying thing about fighting in a zombie horde is not the high-level zombies, but the continuous tide of zombies! Their attack power is intense, and the one who spoke earlier described a way to fight in a horde – three men cooperating with each other, fending off zombies from all sides, while also being able to break away from the horde.
Some took his words to heart, and some did not. A Level 3 New Human fixed his eyes on a Level 4 zombie. Standing over three meters tall, the zombie was unable to move, trapped in the horde. The Level 3 New Human decided to target it, his eyes never leaving the zombie’s head, his face revealing a look of excitement. Whatever the officer had said earlier was pretty much ignored.
The overwhelming power coursing through his body gave him a confidence beyond comparison. He believed that he could freely move in and out of the horde unharmed!
"Good opportunity!"
Seeing the Level 4 zombie getting closer and closer, he leaped and stomped on several zombies’ heads to get to it quickly. He didn’t use the claw blades but a zombie-slicing sword! One, he found the claw blades useless against so many zombies, and two, he wasn’t accustomed to using them.
