Chapter 628: Chapter 626: Chop them all down for you _1
"Uh..."
Bai Xinran was dumbfounded, repeatedly confirming that it was Tang Ye, scratching her head, a bit unsure of what was happening.
"Did I see wrong?"
Despite her doubts, Bai Xinran was overjoyed to find that Tang Ye hadn’t died. She happily returned to her previous spot, wiping away her tears, and watched excitedly as Tang Ye and the undead dragon battled Water Guanyin.
The reborn Tang Ye was like a soaring eagle, his striking red flesh-blade at the ready. He sprinted towards Water Guanyin. His face was grimaced as he plunged his bloody blade once again into its body!
Sploosh!
Black blood sprayed out, covering Tang Ye’s face. He wiped it away, undeterred, his aura skyrocketing as he and the undead dragon launched a combined attack on the immense creature.
The creature had managed to resist the undead dragon with just one tentacle earlier. Now it extended two, creating quite a problem.
Water Guanyin wasn’t having it easy either. Despite its massive size, reminiscent of an ancient god from legends, it was still only a Level 6 creature. Facing attacks from two Level 6 zombies, it was covered in wounds within moments.
Being large has its benefits, such as an increase in strength proportional to size. But being small has its perks too, such as a smaller target size. Unlike Water Guanyin, who has a large surface area on which to take hits, Tang Ye could maneuver flexibly around it.
At a height of around 2.4 or 2.5 meters, Tang Ye would be considered a giant among humans. But to Water Guanyin, he was like an ant that could disappear if it wasn’t careful. The pain caused by this ant, however, was substantial.
Of the three Level 6 zombies, the undead dragon was in the most awkward position. Sandwiched between the other two zombies, it was an easily reachable target.
That’s why the majority of Water Guanyin’s attacks were directed at the undead dragon, eliciting a constant yowling from the creature.
Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!
The blade in Tang Ye’s hand whirled like a gust of wind, leaving a trail of gleaming red streaks in front of him. Wherever it passed, flesh was cleaved from Water Guanyin, leaving behind shocking wounds.
Filled with a bloodthirsty and savage aura, Tang Ye felt his attacks were too slow. He quickly formed two more blades of flesh and blood, one in each hand, and became a whirlwind, cutting from the base to the top of Water Guanyin. Flesh fell from it in thick, long slices, as if it was an apple being butchered by someone unskilled with a knife.
Hum!
Water Guanyin, seemingly realizing the damage Tang Ye was inflicting, roared and tried to withdraw the tentacle fighting the undead dragon. But the dragon’s grip was too tight. Water Guanyin managed to lift the dragon with a tug and smash it to its other side, but the broom-like end of the tentacle was wrenched off by the undead dragon in the process.
Water Guanyin roared and waved its tentacle wildly. Numerous openings spewed out dark blood, staining the Qulong River a sinister red.
Seeing the tentacle swinging towards him, Tang Ye sneered. He shook his long knife and leapt up, skirting the incoming tentacle. He then spun in mid-air, targeting the creature’s waist, its flesh starting to grow, spurting out countless fingers.
"Go!"
With a shout, Tang Ye force-plunged his blade into Water Guanyin’s body, striking something hard with a clang—apparently a bone.
"Bastard! How can an octopus-looking thing have bones?"
Confused, Tang Ye didn’t give it much thought and sought to cut through Water Guanyin, pushing the blade with all his might.
Whoosh!
A sudden gust of wind near his ears grabbed Tang Ye’s attention. He looked up and saw another tentacle heading his way. Without rushing, he let go of his blade and used a stream of black fog to lift himself into the air, avoiding the incoming tentacle. Once back at his original spot, he retook his blade handle.
"I’ll see how you do without a head!"
Tang Ye roared and thrust his blade at Water Guanyin’s crown, driving all his power into the blade. With a squelching sound, the bloody blade—that was over forty feet long—bore through Water Guanyin, emerging from the other side.
He watched in anticipation for Water Guanyin’s reaction. All he got was a roar and another swing of a tentacle coming his way, as if nothing had happened.
"What’s up with this?"
Tang Ye was puzzled. He looked over at Water Guanyin’s bald head. Much of the flesh there was gone but it still hadn’t reached the brain.
"Could it be that its brain isn’t up there?" As he pondered, Tang Ye subconsciously looked at Water Guanyin’s mouth.
"It has a mouth, but I can’t see any eyes. How does it see?"
Roar!
Meanwhile, the undead dragon roared from the other side, rearing up and biting a chunk of flesh out of the side of Water Guanyin’s mouth. Water Guanyin reacted furiously, wrapping its tentacle around the undead dragon’s head to immobilize it, then flinging it high into the air.
Smack!
Boom!
The bulky undead dragon was slammed onto the ground. Its head was bound fast by Water Guanyin’s tentacle and it struggled for a long time to break free. Its tail whipped up a sonic boom in the air and then crashed onto the ground, causing a massive collapse.
The dragon’s tail, devoid of water’s cushion, exploded into a blood cloud upon hitting the solid ground after being thrown down with such brutal force.
Water Guanyin then extended its remaining tentacle towards Tang Ye. He eyed it with annoyance.
"Annoying, I’ll chop off your tentacles first."
Saying this, he jumped forward. The anti-life matter energized his bulging muscles, making his silvery skin shine like metal. He jumped onto the thick tentacle and swung his knife down.
Crack!
The blade made of flesh and blood couldn’t take the strain and shattered immediately. However, Tang Ye quickly absorbed the broken pieces back into his body, flicked his wrist, and formed two new blades to attack again.
"Cut!"
With a shout, both the flesh-blade and Water Guanyin’s tentacle snapped asunder!
"Let’s see how you’ll vex me now!"
Tang Ye ordered the undead dragon to continue the attack, stepping on the stump of Water Guanyin’s severed tentacle, and coming closer to its neck-like body part.
Plop!
The huge tentacle splashed into the water, causing large waves. Tang Ye looked over at it, his gaze moving to Water Guanyin’s last remaining tentacle. He gave a derisive smile, then materialized another flesh-blade, and stabbed it into Water Guanyin’s body.
But Water Guanyin abandoned its attacks on the undead dragon, choosing to direct its lone tentacle at Tang Ye. He wasn’t worried, saying, "Come at me! I will cut off all your tentacles!"
With these words, the black fog wrapped around his blade, growing larger against the breeze, and rushed towards the incoming tentacle. However, at that moment, Tang Ye had a sudden jolt in his heart.
"Why are there two airflows?"
He glanced at the severed tentacle and felt slightly relieved. But the sense of imminent danger was still there. He instinctively looked behind and saw a piece of tree bark flying towards him.
"Oh, crap..."
Before he could finish, a seemingly new and well-formed tentacle hit his body out of nowhere, reducing him to a pulp with a loud smack!
