Chapter 545: 542 Extreme North Zombie King Water Guanyin 6_1

Three tentacles simultaneously swept up more than twenty enormous whales towards the massive body. Amid the whales’ anguish and ghostly screams, a crack echoed from the wrinkled, dry bark-like monster as a waterfall, more than ten meters wide, poured out.

People watched in horror as a section of the creature opened, revealing massive teeth the size of small hills, glimmering terrifyingly.

Thump! Thump! Thump! ...

After the opening appeared, it easily engulfed more than twenty whales, each several dozen meters long. The deck echoed with continuous sounds of collision, as many spectators, terrified by the colossal zombie creature, were too weak to stand. They had to sit on the deck, awestruck.

After swallowing more than twenty whales in a single gulp, the giant creature expressed an unsatisfied grunt through a gloomy, palpable roar. A layer of waves followed him as he began swimming forward again.

The freighter shook as it was hit by a wave. In front of this creature, a hundred-meter-long ship looked as small as a cat!

"Is this Cthulhu?"

The fishermen pointed out blankly. They could hardly believe what they had witnessed—it was too exaggerated! They wished it were a dream; such a monster should not exist on Earth!

They initially assumed the creature would approach the freighter, but they had overestimated their allure to the beast.

While it was common for zombies to consume the living, they would also prioritize the most appetizing food.

Indeed, a large number of fishermen were present on the vessel, but the evolved humans only made up about ten percent. The tantalizing scent they radiated could not match the powerful aroma emitted by the swarm of giant whales!

To accelerate its evolution, the zombies required a large amount of food. Looking between the large number of whales and the freighter, they clearly favored the massive whale school!

With regard to the freighter, the monster took no interest in it at all. Instead, it drove massive waves towards the whales. Its swift movement allowed it to catch up to the desperately fleeing whales, quickly narrowing the gap between them.

Meanwhile, the most bizarre aspect was how the other zombie fish, demonstrating extreme loyalty assisted the monster by slowing down the giant whales.

Now that the monster was attracted to the whale school, the people’s legs gradually regained their strength. The ship moved forward diagonally, distancing itself from the strange creature!

Huff~ Huff~

Yaztec gasped heavily, his face flushing red. The presence of the creature had left him breathless. He only relaxed when it moved away, finally letting out the tense breath he had been holding.

Glancing at the camera in his hand, Yaztec stopped filming and played back the footage he had just recorded.

The video lasted for more than ten minutes, recording everything from the appearance of the red line to the waves, from the first injured whale to the second one, then the moment when a thousand whales leaped out of the sea; their ethereal wails echoing across the ocean. The video ended just as the strange creature appeared.

Watching as the screen went black, Su Sigui furrowed her brows, holding a pen as she opened the "Timeline Script". She drew a big cross over "Fujin City Riot" and connected it with a line to the following "Survivor Riot".

"Has the Arctic Zombie King appeared..."

She murmured softly, her pink lips as smooth as a freshly peeled eggshell moving slightly.

The monster that appeared in the video was one of the Six Zombie Kings in the future world. It possessed a massive body. According to the records from the later stage of the Apocalypse, the level 6 creature was two hundred meters tall. Resembling an octopus, it only had three limbs compared to an octopus’s eight, which were astonishingly robust, and unlike an octopus, it had legs.

The Arctic Zombie King had four arachnid-like segmented legs adorned with transparent fish-like fins, allowing it to drift in the ocean. Furthermore, its three limbs were regularly positioned on its shoulders, hanging downwards usually like a blooming flower.

A three-meter-tall crown grew on its "head", and in hunting scenarios, it emanated an intensely pungent meaty odor. While this was peculiar, it was also one of the Arctic Zombie King’s crucial organs.

This organ mainly functioned to attract prey. At normal times, the crown seemed lifeless. Despite its humanoid appearance, due to the Arctic Zombie King’s aquatic habitat, this organ specialized in luring land-based mutated beasts. The eerie, meaty odor it emitted was irresistible, even to humans.

In the early stages of its development, the Arctic Zombie King would submerge its body in water, exposing only the humanoid crown. Due to its resemblance to Guanyin from Buddhism, people from China and Southeast Asia would often call it "Water Guanyin".

In Russia and Europe, however, they used terms like "Arctic Beast" or "Sea Monster".

The term "Zombie King" was primarily used to describe the White-haired Zombie King from China. But by the later stage of the Apocalypse, only the six Zombie Kings remained. They had caused direct or indirect destruction to human civilization. The Arctic Zombie King spent most of its time in the ocean, primarily located in the Arctic, posing little threat to humans. It was deemed the "benevolent" Zombie King, second only to the White-haired Zombie King.

Of course, this did not indicate it held a positive sentiment towards humans. Its primary diet consisted of evolved aquatic beasts. A single meal could comprise nearly fifty giant whales. Hence, it was one of the early examples of an evolved being in the pre-Apocalypse world. As a result, its actions caused the fishermen in the Arctic to abandon their once blissful lives—the creatures they caught were inedible zombie fish!

Once, it emerged from the sea, transforming parts of Russia’s coastal cities into an ocean. It moved from the northeast, across the land, until reaching the West Sea on the Lan Ou Continent. The living creatures encountered in this journey ended up in its stomach, leaving survival bases razed to the ground!

This cemented its title as a Zombie King.

In the later stages of the Apocalypse, people tallied up six Level 9 zombies on Earth. Initially, only Bai Fa was referred to as a Zombie King, but later, an obsessive-compulsive person decided to categorize the other five Level 9 zombies as Zombie Kings for uniformity.

Speaking of the Arctic Zombie King, you mustn’t assume its head is solely the part appearing above the water. If you believe that, then you are mistaken. Its head is located at the center of its four legs and is mostly submerged.

Su Sigui glanced over the line she had just drawn and switched the video on her screen to the next one. The footage showed a wide river, somewhat blurry, but depicted a zombie creature that greatly resembled the Arctic Zombie King, only much smaller, merely about a dozen meters long. At the end of the video, the creature was killed by a group of humans using bombs.

The video was just broadcast when the Fujin City riot suddenly ended. That was strange—in both her past and present life, Su had always pondered this peculiar coincidence.

This zombie was evidently a member of the Arctic Zombie King’s royal zombie lineage—so why had it appeared here? Why had the zombies in Fujin City rioted?

All these clues pointed to a significant event that would occur in the next few months!

What Su Sigui needed to do was to seize this opportunity to ascend, to expand her City of Bright Moon beyond the borders of the S province!
