Chapter 1675: Chapter 1669: It’s Very Safe Beside the Zombies

"Wait, first take out that guy coming out!"

Seeing Yong walk out from the living room, the five people over there instantly sensed a feeling named danger. Their hearts couldn’t help but shiver! It was as if an invisible giant presence appeared in front of them, directly oppressing them with its aura!

They felt the air around them drop by several degrees all at once, and couldn’t resist shivering. The few of them exchanged glances with expressions of confusion on their faces. Just then, Yong on the office building raised his hand and fired a laser before the five people could react, and a bloody hole appeared on one of their chests!

Everything happened too fast. The person didn’t even have time to feel pain before slowly lowering his head, seeing the bloody hole suddenly appearing on himself. The delayed pain finally arrived, intensifying continuously. In disbelief, he thought this bloody hole shouldn’t have appeared on his body. He turned his head to look at his companion beside him; he couldn’t speak or make a sound. As his pupils dilated, he fell straight down!

"What happened?" The soldier who seemed to be leading the group of five looked dazed. Everything happened too fast, and in the blink of an eye, a companion was already on the ground. It wasn’t just him; the other three hadn’t reacted either. The moment he finished speaking, another laser shot over. The head of a sturdy companion beside the lead soldier suddenly exploded, and the weapon in his hand slipped down. The headless body limply fell backward, crashing hard onto the street filled with wailing zombies!

His body shattered into countless pieces, with blood splattering everywhere. Zombies close by licked at the bloodstains they smelled, but were quickly pushed forward by their companions.

"Ma De!"

The lead soldier finally came to his senses, cursing out loud. He hurriedly crouched down, hiding his entire body behind an obstacle, and the other two quickly followed suit.

"You, get up and see what that guy across the way who killed our two people is doing now."

Leaning against the hard wall of the obstacle, the leading soldier took a deep breath and ordered another companion in a commanding tone. The other did not refuse. They couldn’t believe someone could be that good of a shot, so he slowly stood up and poked his head up. But as soon as his forehead was exposed, before Yong’s voice could be heard, a laser "swish" immediately flew over. The feeling of burning flashed past. In that instant, the standing soldier didn’t even have time to think, as his skull was lifted off, splattering the red and white matter over the lead soldier’s face.

Another companion died. He watched the other’s body fall downward, meeting the same fate as the previous companion.

"There’s a sharpshooter on the other side, we retreat!"

Realizing the disparity between friend and foe, he didn’t dare to stay any longer. With a wave, he wanted to lead the last remaining person through the window below into the building. But how could Yong across the way give them a chance? Seeing they didn’t come out, he turned up "Tianguang" to the red zone power output and aimed a shot at the obstacle hiding the two of them!

The blue laser was forcibly turned red the moment it pulled from the gun’s muzzle; the remaining two didn’t even have time to act. The obstacle behind them exploded, and the scattered rubble caught them off guard, knocking them downward. In a critical moment, the lead soldier grabbed the edge with his hand, while another grabbed his foot.

"Save me! No..." The call for help from the companion reached his ears, but he ignored it, lifting his other foot to stomp on the hand grasping him fiercely!

"Get the hell down!"

Listening to the companion’s scream as they fell, the lead soldier displayed a fierce grin. He felt his body lighten, but soon realized his situation, and the expression on his face changed rapidly. He began shouting, "No! Don’t kill me! We surrender! Stop shooting!"

Hearing the lead soldier’s voice, Ghost Head stood up from the ground. The opponent’s obstacle had been blasted apart, and he vaguely saw two hands firmly holding onto the edge. However, regarding the lead soldier’s pleas for mercy, he had no intention of giving the other a chance. He picked up his weapon and wildly fired at that building.

Lasers pummeled the cement wall, and the building that bore the brunt of the damage instantly shattered and splintered. The leading soldier sensed something was wrong and felt a chill in his heart. Ultimately, under the destruction of the laser, the upper structure of the building split, causing him to fall down along with the rubble.

"Hmph!"

The sound of screams once again entered his ears, causing Ghost Head to snort coldly. How could he possibly spare those people? If Yong hadn’t been there, they might have already died!

"Phew~ Luckily, you’re here. Otherwise, if you found us any later, we would never see you again." He expressed his gratitude to Yong. He wasn’t sure what Yong was thinking, merely nodding at him, seemingly half-understanding his words. But it no longer mattered. Whether Yong was a zombie or a human, ever since they met, he had never shown any hostility towards them and had even helped them resolve crises multiple times. In this city overrun by corpses, being close to a zombie that held no malice toward them also gave him a sense of security.

Walking back into the living room, he didn’t mind the dirt on the floor and sat down heavily, massaging his leg. The pain gradually eased with time. As the crisis ended, the adenaline that surged to face the danger began to subside, making his body feel soft and exhausted.

"Yong."

"Yes?"

Calling out to Yong, Ghost Head was momentarily stunned by his quick response. Had Yong really changed from before?

He didn’t dwell on it much. After a pause, he continued, "Could you... keep watch while I take a nap?"

"Alright."

Yong didn’t refuse, simply replying with a sound. He stood behind the railing, looking at the distant Sky. With a different perception of the world from before, he tried to make sense of everything in his vision, including the zombies below and the silver-armored corpse of the same origin, gradually moving away...

Occasionally, warplanes flew overhead, but some were intercepted by terrifying zombies leaping into the sky, while others managed to escape. People’s screams mingled with the bothersome howls, making it hard to discern complexly.

Just then, a dark shadow pulled a long black line through the sky, appearing and disappearing in an instant. Yong looked over but couldn’t capture the speed of the shadow!

However, the next second, the shadow that should have disappeared suddenly appeared on the roof of the building opposite Yong’s. It was a woman, wearing an exoskeleton armor with a mask shining cold light. She glanced at him, then disappeared in the next instant.
