Chapter 1670 - 1664: Priority Selection

Chapter 1670: Chapter 1664: Priority Selection

"There are so many here, perhaps we should share..." Bone tried to communicate with the other party, but that guy seemed so angry that his lungs could explode and didn’t even listen to the end. He thrust his hands into the ground, and as the power of the Level 8 zombie erupted, cracks rapidly spread forward. The next moment, with a loud "crack", the ground was torn apart, and a huge slab nearly a kilometer long was lifted. The zombies on top lost their balance and tumbled down!

Roar~

With a furious roar, its muscles bulged, and its silver skin glistened even brighter in the sunlight! Exerting even more force, it actually lifted up the slab of ground and, in the next instant, hurled it toward Bone with a wild howl!

"Damn!"

Stone Brother, who had already run far away, turned back and saw this scene, cursing wildly. They watched as the lifted slab of ground, swept by a furious wind, bore down on them, and the resulting impact threw the three of them into the air. Then, as if a nuclear explosion had erupted, flames filled their view, the buildings on the lifted ground were completely demolished by the shockwave, and the structures on the ground were pulverized, with masses of debris flying into the air and then raining down like a storm!

After lifting the slab, the silver-armored zombie smashed it down with ferocity and speed. Bone tried to dodge, but it was a step too late. Instinctively raising his hands, he wasn’t a strength-type zombie, so he could only hold on for a moment. The pressure from the pounding increased, and with a fierce thud, he was slammed deep underground. Buildings shattered, the earth cracked, and the violent impact flung everything within half a kilometer into the air, forming a high wall, while the trio were sent flying into a nearby building by the force.

"Ah!"

Ghost Head screamed, he lost consciousness for a moment, and when he opened his eyes again, he was dazed, his head throbbing as if it would explode. Earlier, everything went black before his eyes, and he didn’t know what happened during that time, his head was sticky, and when he wiped it with his hand, it was all blood!

He didn’t know how much time had passed, it seemed like just a few seconds when he closed and opened his eyes, but it also felt like a dream!

Bam!

Bam!

Bam!

The ground kept trembling, and noticing this he realized a piece of concrete was pressing on him. He struggled to move it away and saw someone lying nearby, wearing an exoskeleton suit, but by the build, he recognized it immediately as Stone Brother.

"Hey!"

He reached out to tap the other, but got no response. A very bad thought flashed through his mind, and he quickly unbuckled the other’s exoskeleton suit, removed the visor, and put his hand under the nose until he felt the other’s breath. Only then did he breathe a sigh of relief. Although weak, as long as he was alive, it was fine.

Because Stone Brother’s body cushioned him, the impact damage to him was lessened, and at this moment, he was the only one of the trio conscious, though his situation had been the worst before!

Not far away, a head was barely exposing through the rubble, and Ghost Head hurried to stand up. Despite his body trying hard to recover from injuries, he felt weak in the legs and struggled to stand upright using the ground.

"Wu Zhixiong... Wu Zhixiong?"

He approached Wu Zhixiong and, like before, unbuckled his exoskeleton suit and checked for breath. He found it alive and tried to shake him awake, but after a long time, there was still no response!

The two were badly injured, and since he wasn’t a doctor, he didn’t know if shaking the other awake would cause problems. Although both were breathing, it was so weak, like a candle in the wind, that even a slight movement would snuff it out, making him hesitate to do anything further.

"We’re doomed."

Looking out, he saw the silver-armored zombie could lift a huge "slab" and slam it into the ground repeatedly, causing the ground to tremble. Its actions also made it clear to Ghost Head that not much time had passed.

"Wu Zhixiong! Stone Brother... Wake up, both of you!"

He called out to the two in desperation, but they still didn’t wake up. Ghost Head fell silent, searched around, and found a utility cart used by laborers to pull things. However, the cart was too small for more than one person, leaving him no choice but to carry the relatively lighter Stone Brother while pulling Wu Zhixiong along on the cart, struggling to walk out step by step.

The previous impact had made the buildings around here tilt, and as soon as he got the unconscious duo out, the cold sun was covered by white clouds, darkening the sky. He looked into the distance at the gigantic silver-armored zombie that cast an unmissable shadow on the ground!

It seemed tired of smashing things, finally letting go of the shattered and scattered "slab" in its hands, raising its arms to the sky and roaring, as if declaring its victory!

More and more soundwave zombies surged in its direction, the devastated streets filled with a current of zombies, rushing toward the silver-armored zombie, ignoring Ghost Head and his two unconscious companions.

His gaze swept around, somewhat bewildered, as zombies passed him by, occasionally stopping to snarl at him, only to be knocked off course by their following companions or swayed by something, heading unmindfully toward the silver-armored zombie.

"I guess that’s good..." Ghost Head’s face showed a wry smile. He felt like a citizen of a fallen kingdom, walking through land that no longer belonged to him, engulfed by boundless grief. This should have been a battle between humanity and the wave of zombies, but it had turned into a field of war between the silver-armored zombie and the soundwave zombies, with humans as side characters, either caught in the crossfire or watching from the sidelines.

In a fleeting moment, he fantasized about becoming powerful enough to gain the respect of those Level 8 New Humans and then leading them to change the plight of humans. But fantasy was just that - fantasy. He remained an ant in the apocalypse, fighting to survive in the cracks.

He carried both men and moved little by little, trying to distance himself from the fight between the silver-armored zombie and Bone. But as he moved farther away from the battlefield, he realized more and more soundwave zombies were stopping around him. Initially, they paused only every few minutes, but now, more and more zombies stopped and tried to get closer! This made him immediately alert.

These soundwave zombies attacking the silver-armored zombie must be controlled by a high-level soundwave zombie from the shadows. They weren’t attacking him because "killing the silver-armored zombie" had a higher priority than "eating", but once he moved too far from the silver-armored zombie, the soundwave zombies prioritizing "eating" would become a more immediate choice!
