I am the Zombie King of the Apocalyptic World -
Chapter 1261 - 1256: A Satisfactory Attitude
Chapter 1261: Chapter 1256: A Satisfactory Attitude
Ah Fu and Xu Haishui immediately tried to help Tang Ye to his feet, but as soon as they touched Tang Ye’s arm, the two Level 7 zombies were totally stupefied. They discovered they couldn’t lift even one of Tang Ye’s hands!
"What’s going on?" Chen Zhou’an and the others nearby were a bit slow to react, thinking that Ah Fu and Xu Haishui were joking with them.
"Get over here and help," Xu Haishui bellowed. Although those around him didn’t understand the situation, they still eagerly came over to try and lift Tang Ye together.
But the next second, their expressions turned exceptionally animated.
"Holy shit! Marshal, how did you get so heavy?"
Three Level 7 zombies, a Level 7 New Human, and two Level 6 New Humans together still couldn’t lift Tang Ye. Now, Tang Ye’s body was heavier than a mountain; the several zombies and humans combinedly exerted their strength but couldn’t even slightly move him.
"Step back, I’m fine, just a bit unaccustomed," Tang Ye waved his hand, his voice somewhat hoarse, he roughly knew what was happening.
"Well, Mr. President, maybe you should revert to human form and try again. After all, you’re quite robust," Bai Huipeng laughed awkwardly beside him. It had been six hours since Tang Ye had passed out, and during that time, they had already left the United District. Those present had also come to accept the truth about the three leaders of the Peace Party being zombies.
The only thing that was both surprising and exciting to them was that their President, their Marshal, was the widely rumored Zombie King! Only those present could truly understand what it felt like to witness this.
However, their attitude had completely won over Xu Haishui, Ah Fu, Gong Xiao, and the other zombies; they now fully regarded them as one of their own.
With Bai Huipeng’s reminder, Tang Ye then realized why he had been finding the world a bit lower than usual—it was because of this. Even though Tang Ye’s Zombie King form was only three meters tall, not as extravagantly muscular as Ah Fu’s human form, his presence was imposing, even while sitting, towering over normal humans standing up. His three-meter stature ensured his Zombie King form wouldn’t appear weak, especially with the black veins on his face and the two rows of triangular shark teeth revealed with just one opening of his mouth—all it took was one look to send shivers down one’s spine.
His head of long white hair, undulating like a serpent, further accentuated his sinister and flamboyant aura.
Realizing this, Tang Ye glanced at the people before him, and seeing their composure, he wasn’t too concerned. Their presence alongside Ah Fu indicated their clear choice. As for Bai Huipeng, Tang Ye was quite satisfied with his attitude—this guy was the only confidant Tang Ye saw among humanity. To cultivate him, Tang Ye had invested several Level Six Evolution Cores and a Level Seven New Human Evolution Crystal Core, just to ensure his smooth evolution to Level 7.
If Bai Huipeng knew Tang Ye was a zombie and chose to betray him, that would have been truly distressing.
Luckily, Bai Huipeng didn’t choose the path of betrayal, which meant that Tang Ye still held a significant place in the hearts of those present—they all rose to power because of him, after all.
"This isn’t the point."
Tang Ye shook his head, motioned them to step aside, and began to control his power, a challenge he faced with every evolution. However, the leap from Level 8 to Level 9 had been particularly intense.
As for how intense—Tang Ye now dared not to easily release his strength. The mere power eruption at Level 8 had wreaked havoc in the United District; at Level 9, he feared it would be akin to a humanoid natural disaster.
He cautiously exerted his power, making his body lighter under his own control, and slowly pulled himself up from the ground. However, the effort was exhausting, and not long after, Tang Ye’s complexion turned unsightly as he underestimated the strength he now possessed. If previously, as a Level 8, he could control his strength around Level 2, now, with maximum effort, he could only manage around Level 4—that was already his limit.
But this didn’t last long, as Tang Ye quickly stood up. The ground beneath him was just too fragile, and he might accidentally fall through, burrow through the core, and emerge on the other side of Earth. Even standing was like being on a block of tofu. Fortunately, having evolved so many times, he understood these matters well. If an ordinary person suddenly had the power of a Level 9, they really would shuttle back and forth between the two sides of Earth as he had imagined.
Perhaps he was too weary to exert himself, so he simply let his body lightly hover above the ground. And to tell the truth, this really did ease a lot of the burden.
After taking a few steps, aside from the "lightness" of his gait, you really couldn’t tell at a glance.
He cracked a smile, feeling very satisfied with the fruits of his efforts. However, this smile looked incredibly creepy on his zombie-like face.
At that moment, aside from Ah Fu, Xu Haishui, and Gong Xiao, several people nearby were scared enough to take several steps back.
"Marshal, you’re not planning on eating humans, are you?" Huang Quanjiu said half-jokingly, half-seriously.
Tang Ye glanced at him and said teasingly, "I might actually give it a try."
"No, no..."
"Come on, if I wanted to eat you, would you still be alive now?"
Tang Ye glanced at Ah Fu, who scratched his head and chuckled heartily.
Once accustomed to this power, Tang Ye raised one hand and squeezed forcefully. People around him looked on with puzzlement, but only Tang Ye himself knew that as his hand shaped into a fist, countless particles of air were compressed into his palm. The air that was pushed out through the gaps in his fist actually blew away all the surrounding air. For a moment, everyone there—save for the Zombie King Xu Haishui, Ah Fu, and Gong Xiao—found it difficult to breathe.
Under Tang Ye’s gaze, the color belonging to the air was completely blown away, leaving only thin wisps floating around. Apart from the air, he could see some particles that were floating in the air, which he also grabbed into his palm. As he slowly released his power within the core of his hand, both the zombies and the humans around him heard a boom that wasn’t very loud, but still not something that could be ignored.
Bang!
Like the sound of a firecracker exploding after being ignited, in that instant, everyone and the zombies saw a streak of electric light flash across Tang Ye’s fist, leaving them all exchanging bewildered looks.
"Boss, what are you doing?" Ah Fu was the first to ask, as everyone was curious about what had happened in Tang Ye’s hand.
Tang Ye didn’t answer. He opened his palm, and four or five black objects, about the size of grains of sand, shot out from his hand. Although small, they were quite heavy; as soon as they appeared, they hit the ground and then vanished.
"What are these things?" the others were curious too, but Tang Ye just smiled without replying.
PS: I’m going to be training for my driving test these next few days, so I might not have time to write. The author will try to finish within the limited time available. Just a heads-up in case I get too busy and need to take a break (of course, I’ve also realized that I’ve been getting lazier these days, heh heh).
