Chapter 1260: Chapter 1255 "New" World
Ah Fu and Xu Haishui’s actions were unknown to Tang Ye, perhaps because of what preoccupied his mind, he truly had a dream when he passed out.
"Hey, do you still remember your name? Your name is..."
"Not far now, don’t worry. I won’t die. I’ll be somewhere, waiting for you to find me, or if I get news about you, I will come to find you. Forgive me for being busy right now, sorry Little Mister."
"Hehehe, do you know why I call you Little Mister? The reason is actually quite funny."
"Keep walking forward... that’s where you need to go."
"What do you think, what will be the next stop this train is headed to?"
"Alas, it’s also our first time in this city, who knows."
"Hahaha, feels like time flies so quickly."
"It is said that everyone feels time speeding up after they turn fifteen. I wonder why that is?"
"Let’s go, towards our next stop."
"I’m glad to have met you here, and I hope we can meet again on the return journey."
"Until we meet again!"
"Until we meet again."
"Three dots... will I be either of the extremes or in the middle?"
"Our distance won’t be too far..."
"Goodbye..."
"Goodbye."
"One person, two people, three people? Where are the other two?"
...
The dream’s imagery flickered by too quickly for anyone to react before shooting past like a freshly fired bullet, "swooshing" by and skimming the skin without giving a chance to get a clear look.
In the end, Tang Ye saw himself, through an eerie first-person perspective, standing on a street, step by step heading towards a direction with an unknown destination. After about five or six steps, he stopped, turned around, and his gaze intertwined with another person’s behind him.
That person, Tang Ye didn’t know if it was a man or a woman, it might not even be human-shaped; the only thing he knew was that his gaze collided with the other’s. The white, blurry imagery gave no opportunities to discern the expression of that "person".
It was strange how deep this world had become, as if he no longer recognized it.
He and that person were only about ten meters apart, with people constantly passing by their surroundings, noisily yet quietly, the city in the distance had become a gray silhouette, details unobservable, yet giving the impression of bustle and activity, unaware of what encounters might await him in some corner of this city.
Beautiful, sad, memorably intense, the thick atmosphere of everyday life.
The "person’s" silhouette, along with the passerby coming and going beside them, continuously signified something, yet merely separated by over ten meters, Tang Ye felt as if separated by an era from that person, like old friends parting ways quickly after a brief reunion, representing different times, one at the start, one at the end, in a cyclic procession.
Always reuniting, but always parting.
Inside both of them, there were no ripples, as though after finishing a job, someone else would come along to take over, and when the other was done, it was his turn to take over again, devoid of emotions, yet like good friends, back and forth, year after year.
The dream’s imagery was incredibly fast, unbelievably so, making Tang Ye feel as if he was standing by a pond, gazing into the water as if something lay beneath, and then he reached out, grasped something and pulled it up, no thanks given, not even a word exchanged, brushing past and then departing.
Such description might come across as indifferent, but at the very least this was how Tang Ye felt; he had no better way to express it, just as one in a three-dimensional world cannot depict something belonging to the fourth dimension.
A feeling is a feeling, what kind it precisely is, only Tang Ye had a vague concept in his heart, one only he could understand.
Upon waking up, the first thing Tang Ye saw was the colorful sky, the natural colors of unseen material made visible in this space, directionally showing themselves, without the beauty of a clear blue sky, yet every bit of this world was beautiful. Even in the midst of a desolate desert, the view was beautifully colorful, although many of these colors Tang Ye could not name.
Besides the red, green, purple, yellow, blue that could be distinctly recognized, all others were combinations of new colors with existing ones.
"What should this color be called?"
Tang Ye pondered for a long while, but couldn’t find the right word to define this color, so he just called it a new color.
"The boss is awake."
Following Ah Fu’s shout, Tang Ye saw several people walking towards him, Xu Haishui, Bai Huipeng, Huang Quanjiu, Chen Zhou’an, Gong Xiao, and two others whose identities Tang Ye could not discern due to the colors emanating from them.
These two seemed to be injured, Tang Ye didn’t know why he came to such a conclusion, but soon realized why; the colors on their bodies were faint, the one sitting down was better off, but the one lying on the ground was losing color persistently, with some areas looking hollowed out and turning gray-white.
Tang Ye tried to stand up, but as soon as he attempted the movement, he found his body felt stuck in a marsh, sinking into the ground with just a light exertion.
"Eh?" He was puzzled for a moment, and so were the others who ran over to check on him, clueless about what had happened.
"President, are you alright?" Xu Haishui inquired.
"I’m fine." Tang Ye shook his head to indicate he was okay, he didn’t feel anything wrong with his body, on the contrary, having just advanced to Level 9, he felt at an unprecedented peak state. How did it feel? It could be described like this: with a clear distinction between friend and foe, he could easily overpower a hundred Level 8 versions of himself!
"Overpower" might not be precise enough, it would be more accurate to say "overwhelm"! Effortlessly overwhelm!
Despite those two from afar, the people approaching him were obscured by the colors in front of their eyes, but from the contorted lines of color, Tang Ye could make out their faces, yet could not discern them clearly from a distance. Perhaps his recent evolution to Level 9 and his newfound visual perception was something Tang Ye could not quickly adjust to.
Even though Tang Ye shook his head, Xu Haishui and the others didn’t take it seriously, thinking Tang Ye really had some sort of health issue, otherwise why couldn’t he stand up without sinking into the ground?
