Chapter 458: 452, Must Survive (Third Update)_1

Ren He had made himself very clear at this point, and the other party knew exactly what had happened that night, and they were also very aware that the sniper from that blood-stained night was bound to become an even more interesting figure for the National Security Agency.

If it wasn’t someone who was there that night, how could they possibly know all of this? Then, wasn’t the only person with an unknown identity the sniper himself?

The Monkey’s mind was in turmoil; he had always questioned this matter because it seemed so impossible, but the truth gave him the best answer.

Moreover, the Monkey couldn’t understand how this teenager could have such a strong mentality. After assassinating so many people, he was able to write a song and then hold a concert so calmly and composedly.

How strong of a mind did one need to accomplish that? Before this, everyone felt there were reasons to deny the possibility that the other party was the sniper, but now it appeared that this huge contrast was so terrifying.

Was this teenager really only 17 years old?

Once the two of them turned into the underground parking lot, they instantly started sprinting until they took cover in a blind spot. Ren He calmly squatted down, opened the case, and began to assemble the sniper rifle with practiced ease—an act that Monkey witnessed in disbelief.

The moment the sniper rifle appeared, the facts had already spoken for themselves. The rifle was assembled quickly, and Monkey asked himself if even he could be more skilled than the other party.

But where did the other party get the gun from?

"Where’s the car?" Ren He asked.

At this moment, Ren He carefully pondered everything that had just happened. It was very likely that the National Security Agency had spotted Monkey by chance on the street, which explained the tailing. Did this mean that they didn’t know Monkey’s license plate number or anything like that?

Maybe they could bluff their way through; after all, underground parking lots typically have four exits. Escaping through a different exit might provide a glimmer of hope. Although it was a slim possibility, Ren He was willing to give it a try.

But the most important thing to do right now was to take care of the two tails behind them. They couldn’t let them see what car he and Monkey were getting into. Otherwise, a simple mention over the walkie-talkie, and escaping would become very difficult for him and Monkey.

Ren He had already heard faint footsteps drawing closer, and the cautious gait gave him reason to believe that the pursuer had his gun in hand.

Before Monkey could react, Ren He had drawn a pistol with lightning speed and dashed around the corner. The two people trailing behind, upon seeing Ren He with the gun, showed no signs of panic and raised their guns to shoot!

But Ren He’s speed was just too fast for them. Monkey realized that the other party didn’t even need to think when aiming; it was all instinctual as he raised his gun and pulled the trigger twice—two headshots!

The crisp gunshots echoed throughout the entire underground parking lot, so abrupt.

The result was that Ren He had already performed a series of actions fluidly before the other party could even raise their gun barrels, leading Monkey to ponder that if he had been Ren He’s opponent, he might be just as dead as the two corpses on the ground...

Monkey took in a sharp breath, noticing how the teenager killed with such swift decisiveness.

"Drive, we’re going out the other entrance," Ren He said calmly. With two entries and two exits in the underground parking lot, even if the other party’s men showed up to cover the place, they were likely to be waiting at the exits—so they decided to leave from the entrance instead.

Monkey quickly got into the car with Ren He, repeatedly opening his mouth to speak and then stopping. Ren He had no mood for idle chat, his entire focus was on monitoring their surroundings.

He had killed again, but this was nothing; Ren He’s heart was ice cold.

Survive, survive, I must survive!

After two gunshots, the enemy might abandon the idea of capturing us alive, if we’re really surrounded, Ren He and Monkey could only fight a bloody battle.

In movies, breaking through a car chase seems easy, but it’s actually very difficult to replicate in reality, starting with road conditions. For example, can you ram your way through traffic if it’s jammed?

Monkey drove the black SUV straight toward the exit, not slowing down at the sight of the barrier, crashing through it and then steadily driving away toward the west, not particularly fast, just like any other car on the road.

Monkey said in a deep voice, "Although this will take some time for them to check surveillance to confirm our car model, it’s also likely to lead them all there. We aren’t moving that fast, they will catch on eventually."

"The street after next, ditch the car, and we’ll take a cab to meet Yang Xi," Ren He said calmly while adjusting the rearview mirror to keep an eye on vehicles that might be following them.

For some reason, Monkey instinctively wanted to seek Ren He’s approval and felt that what he said was right! Even Wang didn’t have this effect on him normally!

However, at that moment, Ren He’s pupils suddenly constricted: "Your car’s been exposed, a black SUV has been following us for two intersections now!"

"Could it be a coincidence?"

"Run the red light!" Ren He said firmly.

As Monkey approached the intersection that had just turned red, he gritted his teeth and sped through, but the black SUV behind them also ran the light. It was now certain they had been spotted, and their vehicle was compromised.

The enemy was smart. This car had probably been waiting at the entrance, not making itself conspicuous. It was likely they thought catching just Monkey wasn’t enough, and they wanted to find the hiding place of the others. If it hadn’t been discovered in time, it might have endangered everyone else.

Ren He slowly closed his eyes; this was a dead end. If they ditched the car now, how could the two of them on foot outpace a vehicle? If the car behind could definitely keep up, death was inevitable for him and Monkey.

Even if they managed to lose the tail for a block or two, it wouldn’t make much difference. Ren He decisively turned in his seat and fired at the glass of the vehicle behind them. To his surprise, his bullets couldn’t penetrate their windows...

Bulletproof!

No, they couldn’t both be left here. The Monkey next to him was Yang Xi’s last lifeline. If both were captured, what would happen to Yang Xi?

He wanted to exchange with the Divine Punishment System for an hour of time-space rewind, but there was no response from the system. That reward really was a one-time deal, never to be repeated.

But the situation now must change; otherwise, both of them would die.

Perhaps... a certain method was workable, but could Skydrive be trusted?

All of a sudden, Ren He pressed the gun against Monkey’s temple: "Listen well to every word I say now. Yang Xi is right now at 173 Park Avenue. The enemy will be more focused on me now. I will jump out of the car soon to attract their attention. You take the next corner while they’re distracted by me. Go through the alley to another street and get a cab," Ren He pressed the gun hard against Monkey’s head, letting him feel the cold muzzle and the violence behind it, and continued in a cold voice, "To be honest, I don’t trust you guys that much; I trust myself more. I’m not just a decoy for you without reason. I might very well survive, and if I do but I find out you didn’t take Yang Xi, then all of you at Skydrive better start watching out for your own safety."
