Chapter 996
The elevator door opened, she stepped in and hit the button for the first floor.
Suddenly, an urgent voice called out from outside, speaking in the local language, asking her to hold on.
She raised her hand to press the button again, but the door didn’t stop closing. All she saw was a panicked face of a young boy before the door rapidly closed.
Only then did she realize that the position of the elevator buttons here was the exact opposite of those back home.
A small mistake.
She didn’t make much of this trifle.
At that point, the elevator stopped on the third floor. Several people got in, and after a delay of more than ten seconds, the elevator door slowly closed and continued to descend.
She was the last one to exit when they reached the first floor.
Just as a person stepped out from the elevator next to her.
A boy’s voice, fierce with anger, echoed in her ears.
He was cursing, equivalent to saying !@#$%^&*.
Chloe Collins, expressionless, moved forward, only to be blocked by a foreign boy who was half a head taller than her.
The boy’s eyes were blazing with anger, he gritted his teeth and repeated the same curse.
Seeming worried she might not understand, he repeated his insult in English after saying it in the local language: ’fuck you!’
She recognized the face, it was the boy from the elevator just now.
The boy was dressed in black, his jacket featuring gold-threaded patterns on the collar and sleeves. A soaring serpent.
Now, pointing at the elevator, he was cursing and fussing about how she didn’t hold the door for him earlier, spewing out profanity.
Chloe Collins had always lived by the rule - an eye for an eye; if she was annoyed, she would strike back.
So, when he cursed her mother and her for the third time, she knocked him down and grabbed a magazine from a nearby rack, smacking him across the mouth.
The boy’s mouth immediately turned red, he looked surprised, struggling to fight back, but couldn’t escape Chloe’s grip.
The corner of Chloe’s mouth curved slightly, her eyes held a hint of danger: "Say it again, I dare you."
The boy looked into her eyes, his entire body feeling goosebumps, and then he apologized: "Sorry."
"Good, boy."
She lightly patted his face with the magazine in her hand, carelessly tossing it back onto the rack, precisely onto its original spot.
The boy watched her walk away, standing dumbfounded. He blinked and slapped his face, unable to believe he had been totally pinned by a girl.
After a while, he came back to his senses and walked out.
By then, Chloe Collins had reached the hotel entrance and quickly located Alexander Foster by his scent.
The moment she saw him, she noticed the pattern on his clothes - it was identical to the one worn by the boy from before.
Just as she was about to approach, the same boy ran up to Alexander Foster before her.
Observing their identical outfits, she didn’t go over immediately but waited in silence.
In a short while, the boy seemed to have been directed by Alexander Foster, turning his head and looked in her direction.
His eyes widened in surprise, then filled with anger. He muttered something to Alexander Foster and stormed off.
Alexander Foster looked confused and started walking towards her.
"You two know each other?" He asked.
Chloe Collins tipped her head, eyeing his clothes, and replied indifferently: "Five minutes ago, I beat him up."
As she finished speaking, she reached out to touch his collar: "Why are you two wearing the same clothes?"
Actually, she had a lot of questions.
Why was he, who was obviously in Orlando, suddenly here? Why did he know this boy?
Clearly, the boy had come specifically to find him. But for what reason?
