She smiled at the camera. At the other end, two people were holding Sophia Spence, ready to inject her with a certain drug.

The others all hid in corners. No one came out to protect her, they only verbally argued for them to not act so rashly.

Sherry Sullivan could not see on Chloe Collins’ side, and she didn’t know she was being watched.

The scene before her eyes scared her to death and she continually retreated back.

A single thought filled her mind: she didn’t want to be an experiment subject!

The rest of the people had pretty much the same reaction.

Usually, each of them loved the excitement and thrills of adventure. Still, at this moment, other than the team leader who somehow mustered up courage to negotiate, no one else wanted to step forward.

Someone grumbled resentfully, "Wesley and others are doing well. They managed to avoid this disaster by hiding in a Couple Town. But we are doomed."

"They should come to save us, right? Why haven’t they come yet! Aren’t they masters of the Secret Network? Why aren’t they coming over!"

"We really should have believed in Chloe earlier."

Sherry coldly replied, "Nobody could have anticipated this situation. What’s the point of saying all these now?"

"But Chloe had already said it was a trap, yet you encouraged everyone to come!"

"I encouraged? Can everyone please be reasonable? It was a unanimous decision, how did it turn out to be my fault alone?"

"So we can only blame Mr. Hamilton then, he didn’t even know there was a trap set up here!"

Mr. Hamilton: "I..."

Their discussion was disrupted by a piercing scream. They turned around to see a needle already pierced into Sophia Spence’s skin!

She was screaming for them to stop, but it was to no avail.

Eventually, she fainted and was dragged out of the room.

This action terrified everyone present.

Sherry’s hand began to tremble.

However, the next second, she was grabbed and yanked out of the room.

She instinctively grabbed onto Simon’s clothes and cried, "Professor, save me!"

Simon was shocked and abruptly pushed away her hand, pretending as if he didn’t see her.

The team leader grabbed Sherry and shouted at the people, "Capture me instead! Capture me!"

His eyes were red, his face filled with regret.

As a team leader, it was his responsibility to protect them. He had failed in his duty and had betrayed the trust placed in him.

Meanwhile, on the other side.

Hailey circled around Chloe, "What now, are you going to watch them fall one by one in front of your eyes?"

Chloe was very calm, "I don’t care. I’m not familiar with them. It’s not worth it to sacrifice myself for them."

Her attitude displeased Hailey.

"But they are your teammates."

Chloe lazily replied, "Are teammates worth a lot?"

"You, young lady, really have a cold heart." Hailey laughed, this was not what she had expected.

As Hailey lowered her hand, another person fell down on the other side.

Just like that, ten minutes passed, and one by one, people fell and were taken away.

Out of the original fifteen people, now only eight were conscious.

And Chloe... still appeared indifferent.

She raised her eyes and stared calmly at Hailey, "If you want me to sign, be realistic. Bring out something I want. I don’t respond well to threats."

Hailey’s smile gradually stiffened. She waved her hand, and the screen was turned off, momentarily ending the torment of the people on the other side.

Soon, a person came in, carrying a box and placed it down in front of her.

Hailey ran her fingers over a row of neatly-arranged drug vials in the box and said, "This is the X-2 that you want. If you sign, I can even tell you how to extract it."

"How do I know if it’s real?" Chloe leaned against the wall, her ears twitching slightly.
