Chapter 919
Wanda Wesley stopped in her tracks, turned around, and said ambiguously, "You’re an exemplary student, aren’t you?"
Nathaniel Nolan was puzzled and after a moment said, "Um... yes, I have been, every year since I was a child."
Wanda Wesley revealed an "I see" expression.
Again, Nathaniel was at a loss.
Are teenage girls these days all such enigmas?
Why can’t he understand her at all?
While lost in thought, his own phone began to ring.
"Hold on, I need to take this call."
He moved off to the side to answer it.
"Mia, what is it? I’m busy at the moment. If it’s not anything important, don’t call me, okay?"
There was a pause on the other end of the line before Mia asked, "Big brother, you’re abroad now, right?"
"Mm, I am."
"How many people are in the investigation team? Who are they?"
Nathaniel blinked, displeased: "How did you find out about this?"
He had only mentioned his business trip, not the investigation team.
Mia sheepishly admitted, "Um... I overheard you talking on the phone on the balcony that night."
Nathaniel palmed his forehead, "Don’t tell anyone else about this, especially not mom, you got it?"
"Oh, I get it, but quickly tell me... is Chloe Collins with you or not?"
"Why... why would you ask that?" Nathaniel quickly switched his tone.
"So... you mean she’s with you, right?"
"No! That’s not what I mean. Why are you asking this?"
Mia responded, "Oh, no reason, I was just curious if you guys were on a date."
Nathaniel rubbed his forehead, "Okay, I’m going to hang up now."
He quickly ended the call and turned to look for Wanda Wesley.
He had only walked a few steps when he froze in shock...
Not too far away, a petite, delicate girl was easily carrying a gigantic shipping container, presumably with items inside, towards a corner of a wall.
That location was a blind spot for surveillance, and was the highest point. He wouldn’t be able to climb there even with a ladder.
Yet she, out of nowhere, managed to haul several towering shipping containers that were almost 2-3 meters tall and 4 meters long. One by one, she stacked them up.
Judging from her actions, she wasn’t breaking a sweat. It was as if she wasn’t carrying shipping containers, but merely a couple of books.
Nathaniel rubbed his eyes and squinted at the sight.
He was now even more stunned.
What a contrasting girl... She looked so frail and delicate, yet she’s got such extraordinary strength!
He imagined himself carrying one of those containers— what an effort!
Meanwhile, Wanda Wesley successfully stacked three containers, each slightly offset to facilitate climbing.
She looked over, and waved at him.
Putting aside his astonishment, Nathaniel rushed towards her.
"How... How did you do that?" he asked.
Wanda didn’t elaborate, but extended her hand towards him.
Nathaniel grabbed her hand and climbed up, quickly reaching the top of the wall.
Both of them looked down and simultaneously furrowed their brows.
"No wonder there are no cameras here, it’s a pond."
Luckily, no one was around at the quiet spot, devoid of any activity.
Suddenly Wanda said, "Wait here for me."
"Where are you..."
Before he could finish his sentence, Wanda suddenly launched herself into the air.
She really launched!
Like a monkey, her leap rivaled even that of a monkey’s. She jumped straight from the top of the wall to a big tree near the pond, then gracefully descended along the branches.
Nathaniel estimated the distance and realized if it were him, he would have landed in the pond and gotten a mouthful of mud.
