Chapter 905
Chloe Collins lightly raised her eyebrows and said, "Solving this case will surely score us points. We’re competing for this honor in the spirit of diligent study."
Sherry Sullivan and Simon Griffin couldn’t help but laugh. They said, "That’s only if you guys can earn it. You really don’t have the ability to do so. Just go home. As for these two invitations, we’ll pretend they never existed."
He pushed the invitations away, contempt in his eyes.
No sooner had he finished speaking, than Simon’s phone rang; at the same time, Sherry’s phone also started ringing.
The two exchanged a glance and picked up their phones at the same time.
In the investigation team’s messaging app group, the team leader was talking.
[Let’s welcome our new members, Chloe and Wesley from Fire. They are the youngest among us, so everybody takes care of them.]
[(Shocked) Sophia just came yesterday and she is young enough. Newcomers are younger than the existing ones, just like the waves of the Ymir River.]
After seeing the message, they knew that the matter was already settled.
Simon let out a sigh of impatience, waving his hand dismissively and said, "Just go, go."
Chloe took the invitations and said in a calm voice, "Thank you, Professor."
The two then walked out of the office at a leisurely pace, leaving their classmates stunned outside.
Was that really all it took?
Sherry Sullivan: "Professor, this is ridiculous. We have to babysit a bunch of kids while preparing to go abroad tomorrow. It’s absolutely ridiculous!"
Simon Griffin looked displeased as he muttered, "Fire has fallen so far, it’s not far from bankruptcy."
A few teachers who had been watching the drama entered with curiosity and asked, "Professor, what is this Fire? What about your investigation team?"
Their faces changed slightly as they curtly replied, "It’s nothing."
"Just tell us about it. This Fire thing sounds impressive."
Simon noticed their eager looks, cleared his throat, and said, "Well, I suppose there’s no harm in telling."
Sherry Sullivan said, "It’s just a small detective agency."
This comment didn’t sit well with Simon. After all, he once applied to Fire and didn’t want to hear it disparaged from others.
"Actually, it’s not small at all. At its peak, it was a renowned information and technology organization both nationally and globally. It can’t be simply summarized as just a detective agency."
Sherry’s expression turned contemptuous.
Perhaps it was professional jealousy.
The other professors, bedazzled, stared at Simon and asked, "Really?! That’s amazing. What notable characters have emerged from it?"
Simon took out his tablet, searched for the information he had checked in the past, and pulled up the member’s data.
"At its peak, Fire had a thousand members in total. These are some of the more well-known ones. First is Polita; she’s beautiful and highly skilled. Cases in her hands would be cleanly solved within three days. Then there’s David Eastwood, who specializes in IT. Next, Diane Stark, who once made a legendary achievement of 80 million in one week, making her quite the celebrity. Fourth is Michael Carson..."
"I know this one!" One professor shot up his hand excitedly. "Michael Carson was on television. He participated in that intelligence variety show and won! He was a child prodigy. I wondered why I haven’t heard about him in recent years. It turns out he went to Fire. How’s he doing there?"
Simon didn’t appreciate the interruption and responded curtly, "He’s doing quite well."
With many other members he didn’t have the mood to detail anymore, his disgruntled face said it all.
