Chapter 890

Moreover, she hadn’t noticed them at all, showing just how good their hiding skills were!

Their moves were eerie, like phantoms or pendulum clocks, swinging towards her simultaneously from one side then crossing over to the other side.

The two of them were hanging upside down on the wall, their feet tied to something that allowed them to cling tightly to the wall. The highly elastic ropes ensured they could swing freely without any constraints.

They resembled the pendulum inside a clock. One swung over, then the other followed, their movements rapid as they alternated and attacked her. To add to the unease, both were wearing eerie smiling masks enhanced by the dark of night. The sight was frightfully bizarre!

A typical person would probably be scared stiff, unable to retaliate at all.

This tactic was designed to strike fear into their opponents.

Two minutes later, Chloe Collins had dispatched the pair and rapidly began heading in the direction of the now faint scent of blood.

As she got closer, she noticed six people running in two lines. Each step was quiet, without the loud pounding typically heard.

They were carrying a rudimentary sedan chair with no roof, just a seat. The person on the chair was the unconscious Cold Lizard!

The sight reminded Chloe Collins of scenes in horror movies where a bride was carried in a sedan chair!

Where did this power come from?

Suddenly, they stopped, started to turn around, and each mask displayed an eerily wide smile. Then, a chorus of laughter rang out!

For most people, the moment they laugh, their bodies are at their most vulnerable, allowing the enemy to strike at will!

This was their plan. At the moment their laughter rang out, they each launched their attacks on Chloe Collins.

They were all eerily light, too light, just like actors suspended on wires. Each movement was bewitchingly light.

A cloud of almost powdery smoke rushed towards her, and Chloe Collins instinctively held her breath and retreated several steps.

At that moment, the sound of whistling came to her ears, marking the arrival of more hidden weapons.

She flipped over, using the wall as leverage, and avoided them.

Chloe Collins took down the nearest person, ripped off their mask, and unintentionally tore their clothes in the process.

She was shocked!

The face under the mask... they were all the same!

She kicked another assailant flying. When his mask fell off, the face was the same again!

Moreover, their skin was ice-cold and devoid of warmth!

Dummies...

While she was still reeling from the shock, a bright light suddenly shone from the end of the road.

A black sedan drove quickly towards her. Half of a person could be seen through the sun-roof.

The person held a crossbow and locked onto the targets like a true hunter.

Seconds later, the attackers were all struck down.

The car stopped automatically in front of Cold Lizard; there was no one in the driver’s seat; it was on autopilot.

Chloe Collins stood still, leaning against the wall, watching the man indifferently.

The man stepped out of the car, crossbow in one hand, each step exuding a commanding air.

He was over six feet tall, wearing a dark brown jacket with the zipper pulled up to his chest, revealing a thin black T-shirt underneath. He had tucked his pants into his long military boots. Looking up to his face, he had well-defined yet not overly harsh features, a softer face with a tiny love heart mole at the corner of his eye. He had the look of a warm-hearted man, four parts handsomeness, six parts gentleness. However, his single eyelids revealed a significantly cold aura. He looked like he just stepped up from the extreme cold, spreading a chilly aura all around him.
