Chapter 823
After two steps, she suddenly couldn’t move, her clothes were being held back by someone.
Chloe Collins walked up to him, motioning with her hand: Give it to me.
Heijii stashed the pass into his trousers pocket: "No."
Chloe Collins: I’m not in the mood to attend classes anyway.
Heijii reproachfully said, "What are you arguing with me for, an adult like you? Not a drop of water all day, don’t you care about your life? Do your parents know you’re suffering over here? Is this how you treat the body your parents gave you?"
Chloe Collins: I’m your boss.
Heijii was taken aback.
Chloe Collins: I heard it the other day.
That day, when she had fainted, she felt half asleep, half awake.
In the blurry state, she heard Heijii calling her, but she couldn’t respond.
Heijii’s lips quivered, and he was suddenly rendered speechless.
It was his own words. Counter-arguing Chloe Collins would be counter-arguing himself.
Chloe Collins took the pass from his pocket, waving him off with her hand.
"Wait a moment!" Heijii was displeased.
He said: "Wait here, I’ll go buy some stuff for you."
With that, he turned around and ran off.
He ran all the way to the supermarket, bought a pile of food, Band-Aids and other things.
When he ran back, his heart sunk.
Only Mr Dong was there.
"Where’s Fu?"
Mr Dong pointed to the Evaluation Arena: "Went in."
Heijii was irritated and almost threw the two bags of things in his hand.
Meanwhile, Chloe Collins had already stepped onto the escalator.
The escalator is, in fact, a conveyor belt, moving practically on a plane.
Due to the vast distance between different arenas, this was needed to save time.
She was very tired and couldn’t resist sitting down.
There was no one to the left or the right.
As most here were newcomers, at this time, they were either eating or visiting the entertainment city.
Moreover, to most newcomers, the term Evaluation Arena was akin to the Great Mountain, bringing them immense pressure.
No one would be motivated enough to come here.
She leisurely leaned against the escalator, lulled to sleep.
At the same time, on the conveyor belt next door, a man wearing a mask was standing quietly, looking out from afar, Chloe Collins seemed to be leaning against his lower body, sleeping.
Neither noticed each other.
Soon, the two conveyor belts leading to different entrances of the Desolate Valley branched off.
Only when the conveyor belt passed the intersection did the man notice there was a person sitting on the next conveyor belt.
He glanced at her faintly, and then shifted his gaze away.
A few minutes later, Chloe Collins got up and exited the conveyor belt.
This entrance was to the backdoor of the Desolate Valley Arena, manned by an old man with white hair.
She was not wearing a mask and was sitting by the door, sipping her tea.
Seeing her, the old man’s wrinkled brow moved, giving her a cold glance, focusing on her bruised fingers, then noticed the hand wrapped in gauze, the blood soaking the gauze, either a fresh wound or an old wound reopened.
The old man averted his gaze, then threw a broom in front of Chloe Collins.
"Start sweeping from behind the door, all the way to the end, the pushcart is over there."
The old voice, revealing a sharp and bitter undertone.
Chloe Collins turned her head to see the old lady drinking tea with one hand, peeling an egg with the other, watching a variety show on her computer while laughing, with egg yolk still on the corner of her mouth.
Her gaze shifted to the computer.
This computer could communicate with the outside world.
She grabbed the broom and silently walked past the old lady, then pushed the cart inside.
The old lady didn’t put her in mind.
