Chapter 1042
Although she was standing in a lower position, her eyes conveyed the opposite, exuding a superior aura. A proud smile was hanging at the corners of her mouth.
"Why are you silent? Are you scared?"
Chloe Collins didn’t answer immediately but stood quietly watching her.
Rosalind Taylor seemed not to care about her response. Her expression was unusually self-satisfied, as if showing off something.
She said, "Don’t worry, I’m not interested in those two things left by your mother. I think you’re really stupid; you’ve offended your father for two worthless items. Do you think he will leave you a portion of the Collins’s massive wealth? Obviously not."
She laughed even more smugly, her every movement carried a disdainful attitude. She walked leisurely towards Chloe, "However, if you beg me now, apologize and call me ’Auntie’, and promise to listen to me in the future, I can put in a good word for you in front of your father. Consider it a favor on behalf of your mother. Think about it."
Chloe slightly tilted her head, observing her neutrally. Her gaze carried a faint smile, both derisive and chilly.
"You seem to be very confident."
Rosalind’s smile deepened, "You are right. I am more than confident! Even without the help of the Collinses, I have the ability to make things happen in our circle. Raine and I will become stronger, and it’s of no advantage for you to oppose us."
Chloe smirked, took a step forward, her beautiful eyes unblinkingly fixed on Rosalind’s. She spoke leisurely, "Don’t cry too miserably."
With that, she walked towards the doorway.
Rosalind squinted her eyes and her brow furrowed slightly. She watched Chloe’s retreating figure, attributed her sarcastic comment to the young lady’s stubbornness.
"Hmm, wait for the day you cry!"

After leaving the Taylor’s, Chloe headed straight to the Foster’s.
Earlier, Theodore Collins texted her that he was at the Foster’s with Alex. He even sent her a picture of him being besieged by a Samoyed and six little Golden Retrievers.
These things gradually melted away the frost on her face.
When her car arrived at the main gate to the Foster family estate, another car was coming from inside, so she stopped and waited for it to leave.
It was a Collins’ car.
The rear window was open. Tristan Collins turned his face, gave her a cold sweep, and drove away.
Chloe drove in. When her car pulled up in the courtyard, she saw Theodore playing merrily with Robert Foster and the dogs in the yard.
What happened?
Wasn’t Tristan here to take Theodore home?
"Sis, you’re back!" Theodore ran over, his pants half falling off because the Samoyed refused to let go.
Chloe got out of the car and asked, "Did your dad come to see you just now?"
Confusion filled Theodore’s big eyes, "Dad didn’t come to see me."
Robert Foster wiped the sweat off his forehead and said, "Your dad didn’t come over, he went to see grandpa."
Chloe lowered her eyes, lost in thought.
Tristan’s gaze just now was very similar to when they were at the Collins’ home.
It was the kind of gaze that one usually has when they’re at the brink of losing control over their anger, about to lose all rationality. But then, they suddenly hear a very uplifting piece of news that helps them endure all the current unpleasantness.
Such a gaze reflected patience, enduring the present displeasure by imagining future satisfaction.
So, what could make him endure it?
"I’m going to see grandpa."
"Hey, it’s almost dinner time."
"You guys go ahead and eat."
