Chapter 1002

Next door.

There were two small white spheres on Chloe Collins’s bedside table.

The joyful exclamation of Raine Nolan clearly reached her ears.

She picked up her phone and sent several text messages to Albert Green, asking about some matters related to Rosalind Taylor.

Albert Green seemed to be staring at his phone 24/7, as he replied almost instantly.

[She is your mother’s assistant and rarely goes into the laboratory, only showing up when she has personal research to tackle.]

[Why the sudden interest? Has something happened?]

[Chloe: She knows about my illness.]

[Ah! Doesn’t that imply your father knows as well? This could be problematic.]

[Chloe: It seems like she knew all along but kept it quiet. She must have had some concerns.]

[Mr. Green: Concerns? I’m not quite sure about that. Most likely, she’s afraid to revisit the matter. Everyone involved back then wanted to dissociate themselves from the incident. It was only normal to not talk about it. But it would be troublesome if your father knew.]

[Chloe: Are you afraid he won’t leave me any inheritance?]

[Mr. Green: Aren’t you afraid? You would definitely have a share in the vast Collins family wealth. If he knew of your ailment, he might reconsider passing the legacy on to you.]

[Chloe: I don’t care.]

[Mr. Green: You’re entitled to it, you can’t just brush it off like that.]

[Chloe: I heard that when I had a car accident, they had a severe argument. Were you aware of this?]

[Mr. Green: I did hear their relationship took a hit. Everyone says it was because your mother blamed your father for not taking good care of you, leading to the accident. That’s why they fought. I don’t know the specifics though.]

[Mr. Green: What’s worrisome is if they publicize this matter, it wouldn’t be good for you.]

[Chloe: They probably won’t, if they wanted to do so, they would’ve done it by now. Moreover, they are unaware of the lab situation and only think that I’ve inherited my mother’s illness.]

[Mr. Green: That’s good then. In that case, just ignore them. Once our illness is cured, we’ll get back at them. No worries, Chlo-Chlo.]

Chloe chuckled, replied with a smiling emoji and ended the conversation.

She switched to the conversation with Heijii and instructed him to keep tabs on Rosalind Taylor’s movements, bring in more people if necessary.

At that moment, the door opened.

Raine Nolan walked in, books in her arms, her steps bold and arrogant.

An overconfident smile on her face, she glanced at Chloe’s face casually, then picked up a cup of milk tea, inserted a straw and drank directly.

"It’s cold," she said with disdain.

Then she tossed it into the trash can.

Afterward, she picked out some clothes, humming a song as she walked into the bathroom to take a shower.

Wanda Wesley turned to Chloe and said: "I want to hit her."

"Don’t dirty your hands,"

Chloe looked up and added: "Find a tool."

Wanda Wesley chuckled and laid down: "Forget it, If I squabble with her and made her cry, we wouldn’t get any sleep tonight."

The following day.

The five-day competition camp officially commenced. On the first day, Chloe saw Morris Kurt.

He was late, but no one reprimanded him. Indeed, there were even leaders who greeted him at the doorway.

With his hands tucked in his pockets, he walked in nonchalantly. His eyes swept the room and finally landed on her face.

A mocking smile crossed his lips, then he started walking towards her.

He stood next to the person beside Chloe, without uttering a word.

Raine Nolan was seated next to Chloe.

Seeing a boy standing so arrogantly before them, Raine Nolan was speechless and annoyed. She maintained a cold expression and pretended she didn’t notice him.

"This is Morris Kurt, the direct grandson of Count Kurt."
