His Toxic Addiction -
Chapter 79: Kiss me!
Chapter 79: Kiss me!
Nicklaus did not react when she rested on his chest. He took in a deep breath and tried to breathe normally as his breath turned stiff the moment she rested on him like she felt secure with him.
Arissa rubbed her head on his chest like a cat looking for comfort from its owner. She was feeling dizzy but there was something still digging her into her mind that even in her drunk state, they still resurfaced and refused to leave.
"Tell me, are you mad about the scandal?" she asked again from his chest and her ear stood still for answers.
Nicklaus drew in a breath. From their height difference, he had the privilege to look at the top of her head at the position they were in right now.
And he did that. He started at the top of her head, trying to figure out if it was the alcohol talking or if it was his wife talking.
After a little silence, he decided to risk it and stop acting nonchalant. Whereas she was deeply drunk and when morning comes, she would forget he said something like that.
"What would change if I say yes?"
"Huh?" Arissa blinked at his chest and then, she turned a little cold remembering something.
Nicklaus felt the change of aura but he cared less. During the time he spent with her at the club, no one need to talk to him about her alcohol tolerance, and with wine as strong as this, he has nothing to be scared of - right?
Arissa took her face off his chest and stood independently, a step away from him and then, she swayed forward and held his tie, "You don’t have to care Nicklaus. I’m your wife and yet, we live as strangers do," she seethed and the harmless tie holding turned into a strong grip. She supported herself with his tie so she would stand well and unknowingly, she strangled him.
Nicklaus frowned when she held his tie that way and to save himself first, he took a step closer to her to reduce the risk of her grip.
Arissa’s closed her eyes and opened them again, "Of course, it would eventually result in something as ridiculous as a cheating scandal. We aren’t even acting as normal couples do,"
She emphasized lowly.
There was sadness in her heart. The sadness she never realized was placed and buried in there until now, and with the help of the alcohol, she blurts them all out without caution, and worst still, she was telling them to the wrong person.
Nicklaus froze with all of what he had heard from her. At first, he was confused and figured she was just bluffing and now, he could not help but smile understanding all she meant.
So, she did care about their marriage, and rather than trying to make it work, she kept pushing him away and also, she kept a far distance from him.
Nicklaus frowned upon another realization; that he was only chanced to hear this and it was all thanks to the alcohol.
Bringing her hand to wrap around his neck, Arissa suddenly missed her footing again and this time, she braced herself for the fall and surprisingly, rather than the fall, the strong arm caught her again.
For the second time in one night.
Arissa smiled drunkenly as she made herself comfortable into "her lone alpha" strong arms. Bringing her hands to his face after being held more comfortably, she held both sides of his checks and stretched them, "You were scared I would fall?" she asked with a wide smile. It was all innocent but not to Nicklaus.
Fire rushed through him with all of her actions and with her body this close to him, he could not take the thought of pinning her on the bar table to fvck her off his mind.
But that would wait. She was drunk right now so he had to behave and again, she crushed his ego the last time he turned her on.
Arissa dropped her hands down from his face and her hurt arm pricked her a little. She could not help but whimper, "It hurts,"
Nicklaus stared at her confused at her sudden statement. His house was golden dim so, it was no surprise that he still hasn’t seen the hands imprint on her face.
"It hurts," Arissa whimpered, and Nicklaus turned more confused. She was carefree a while ago and now, she was hurting?
Still confused, he decided to soothe her until he figures out what hurt her this bad or if it was just the alcohol influence.
"Where does it hurt?" he asked.
Arissa closed her eyes as his voice turned into a lullaby in her ears. Opening it, she smiled at him.
Nicklaus turned startled when he saw tears at the corner of her eyes and he immediately stood still with no idea of what to do.
"I don’t know where it hurts," Arissa declared with a voice laced with sadness. "It just hurts everywhere,"
Her answer generalized her whole life but Nicklaus still suspected she was too tipsy and her mind could be in a thousand places.
This was his first time dealing with a drunk person and in reality, it was hectic.
"Is there something I can do to end the pain?" Nicklaus asked with little expectation.
She would forget everything when she woke up so, why doesn’t he just use this medium to play the gentleman he had always wanted to play - but, only behind the shadows?
Arissa looked up at him.
She was an alluring drunk that Nicklaus could not help but gulp. She was only drawing him in and keeping his steps away from his sanity each time she looked up at him with that flushed red face of hers and those warm set of brown eyes.
"Yes," Arissa voiced, pulling Nicklaus off his train of thought.
"Huh?" Nicklaus blinked, "Yes?" and now, his voice was confused. Though she called him lone alpha, how was he sure she knew it was him?
Arissa frowned hearing his reluctant tune and reply. He does not want to help her.
"You don’t want to help me?" she deadpanned judging from his expression.
Nicklaus looked at her and with reluctance, he questioned, "What is it I can do?"
Arissa’s eyes sparkled so well with his question that Nicklaus thought he was seeing things.
"Arissa_"
"Kiss me," Arissa demanded cutting him off.
"What?" Nicklaus spat out with repulsion and disagreement.
Arissa’s chest heaved and for a moment, Nicklaus wanted to deceive himself that she wasn’t drunk. At the mention of a kiss, the blurred image of his mother kissing his father before murdering his father clouded his memory.
"Kiss me," she trailed off with thoughts, "If you kiss me, all of my pains would disappear,"
