Chapter 77: Deep insecurities.
Raquel paced up and down in her living room. Tears pooled in her eyes as she was now confused about what to do.
Looking at the kissing photos she paid paparazzi to take, she could not help but slam her phone on the floor with deep insecurities and the realization that Arissa does not seem to care about public opinion.
Raquel had heated the scandal with hopes that his wife would cry to him to end it and know smart Nicklaus, she was sure he would figure out that she was the one supporting the scandal and then, he would come to her to order her to end it and there, she would place her deal but sadly, none of those were happening and it was now twenty-four good hours.
The media team she was using, was the strongest, and the comments under each post and tweet were depressing so, so how did the lady not seem to bother about it?
"Argh," Raquel screamed with tears in her eyes, and the next second, she fumed as she picked up the flower vase from the living room table and slammed it on the floor.
"No...no, this can’t be happening," Raquel murmured. She thought she had gotten over Nicklaus but the ’love’ she had for him just tripled, seeing him with a new lady.
The maids around went away as they looked for a safer haven to be at rather than being the ones she would release her fume on.
And per tradition, when there was no one in sight for her to lash out at, she picked up the remote controller and slammed it into the tv, breaking the screen with a crack. Since the tv was of high quality, it wasn’t so easy to break but Raquel did not give up as she kept throwing and throwing and finally, she broke the tv screen into millions of pieces.
"Mr. Wyatt, you can’t do this to me, you can’t forget me," she wailed pitifully with tears escaping her eyes, and like a manic, she took the coffee mug on the table and crashed it on the floor. Some drops of the hot coffee burned her leg but she did not care as she kept on crying and breaking.
Her plan was unsuccessful. Was that even possible? How would her plan fail?
The doorbell rang and without waiting for a reply from the insider, the visitor opened the door herself with her card.
Stepping into the living room, surprise etched on Hannah’s face as she walked into her daughter’s living room. All breakable things were lying on the floor broken and Hannah could not help but rush towards her crying daughter first.
Hannah could not help but part her lips as she looked around. The once extravagant lively luxurious living room was now akin to toddlers playing ground.
Hannah’s eyes caught sight of her daughter’s figure that was curled up in a corner, hugging her both knees, "Raquel?" Hannah called as she rushed towards her princess, not minding the glasses while stepping on them with her shoes.
Raquel raised her face from her knee. Raising her face and catching sight of her mother, more tears could not help but escape her eyes.
Hannah moved to her daughter and held her up in her arm, "What is it, Raquel?" her mother asked with worry plastered on her face.
It was just an hour from midnight and she lost her heart when Raquel called her over that she needs her.
Rather than answering the question, Raquel cried more and her body trembled. Hannah stroked Raquel affectionately to calm her down and it worked.
Raquel gradually calmed down and her sobs stopped.
"Want to tell me what happened?" Hannah asked again. This was more than she can control. Acrying daughter amid glasses chaos.
What if her princess got hurt? And with that thought, Hannah scanned her baby and she gave out a relief sigh when there was no blood on her tender skin.
"Mr. Wyatt doesn’t like me," Raquel complained when her tears stopped. "He flaunts his wife before me,"
Hannah rolled her eyes. Seriously?
Was this the reason why Raquel said she needed her?
"He did not even spend a minute with me and he went away, running back to his wife," at the mention of a wife, Raquel started another round of fresher tears.
Hannah cupped Raquel’s check and forced the girl to fix her eyes on her, "I told you not to attend the auction," Hannah scolded but her voice was tenderly soft.
Raquel glared at her mother for ribbing such a fact on her face, "that was the only way I was able to see him again after months now,"
Hannah raised her brows, "_You have_"
"He gave her more rights. Rights I never dreamt about having," Raquel cut her mother off when she remembered how Nicklaus backed down from stepping out based on Arissa’s wish meanwhile when she was the one, she only had the right to follow orders.
Hannah rolled her eyes as she dropped Raquel’s head on her breast, she asked, "Isn’t she the lady trending for kissing a man at the auction?"
Raquel eyes lit up and she sat up from her mother’s chest. Her mother knowing the news was big progress, "She is the one,"
Raquel swallowed.
"Does he love her?" she voiced her question to her mother.
"Huh? Why such a question?" to say her mother was surprised by her daughter’s conclusion was an understatement. Her mother was ashamed of her daughter’s easy conclusion.
Although, she knew Nicklaus only got close to her daughter per business and sex and was also likable to dump her daughter at any given time but still, she had always encouraged Raquel to work hard and even if they ever break up, she should get him back and now, after such teachings, was Raquel trying to say she quits.
Impossible!
Raquel parted her lips and after a short mental searching, she reasoned, "I don’t know. I only called him by his birthname and he ended us that second and now, she kissed someone else and there’s no spark concerning their breakup, not even an argument,"
"Huh, ridiculous. The marriage is beneficial so, I guess he’s just putting on with her but for you..." she cupped Raquel’s face lovingly, "He loves you and I’m sure of that. You just need a little patience and I promise, he would be the one to come running back to you,"
Raquel frowned hearing her mother. Nicklaus running back to her was highly impossible bit since it was coming from her mother, assurance filled her because if it doesn’t work out, her mother must may a way to make it work, and thanks to her mother’s comfort, Raquel was able to calm down and think straightly, inline with her mother.
"How about I pay more paparazzi to harass words out of her?" Raquel asked looking at her mother with hopes that the new plan would work.
Hannah felt like smacking Raquel’s head for her low reasoning but on the brighter side, the paparazzi might help and with media opinions, they can leave the girl broken and her daughter would be back to the love of her life.
"Don’t worry. I would provide them myself," Hannah remarked. "For now, just know that Nicklaus loves you and he would never stop loving you,"
Raquel smiled and seeing her mess, she somehow wished she could slice the neck of that bitch and, pluck out those beautiful eyes of hers with the glasses on the floor - in the most painful way.
