Chief’s soul left him the moment he saw who just walked into his hospital ward. He blinked vigorously with unknown fear and his weak body immediately turned energized to run in case of anything.

Logan smirked seeing Chief’s reaction as he walked in. He scanned Chief body from head to toe and nodded his head with satisfaction.

He gave him a simple solution but Chief was strongly adamant not to let out a drop of Alfred’s secrets he was keeping so, Logan with his loving heart, gave him a near-death experience. Seeing he was going to die if he kept on resisting, Chief agreed.

Thinking he would be left alone so he would think of a way out, later on, the beast called Logan demanded the secrets at that spot, and without lying, Chief let out all of the secrets even to Adele rape details and Arissa threatened marriage.

Chief chest heaved violently and he tightly held onto his bedsheet to be strong enough and not let his fear show.

He warned Alfred. He did.

But what did Alfred say - that the boy would forever be tameable and now, is this the tameable bastard?

Logan’s smirk turned friendly as he came close to the bed and taking a stool to the bed, he sat beside Chief’s bed and stared into his eyes.

"Alfred came here," Logan initiated surely, not taking his eyes off Chief eyes and that alone was strong enough to stop the poor middle-aged man from lying so, he just gently nodded his head.

"Mmh," Logan hummed in approval to Chief’s reply, and with a lazy drop of his left leg, he asked straightly, "So, what did you tell him concerning your injuries?" his eyes scanning all over Chief body.

Chief body was badly covered with injuries and seeing it would make a normal person throw up but not Logan. Rather, he took pleasure starting at his "perfect work of art".

Chief body tensed up. Did Logan perhaps eavesdrop on their conversation?

And then, his eyes almost left their sockets.

Bracing himself up, he thought of how impossible it was. Alfred left two hours ago and Logan just arrived here so - and even if Logan did eavesdrop, he would have been dead than this because the conversation between him and Alfred was mostly about eliminating Logan.

Swallowing, "I told him what you told me," Chief conceited.

Logan raised his head at Chief tone and brushed it away, he tilted his head questioningly, "What exactly?"

Chief gritted his teeth and the pain in his body increased a thousand percent with Logan’s presence and constant questioning.

"That I got the injuries from a late night operation,"

"And?" Logan questioned again not satisfied with the reply he got.

Chief breathed out, "And," his voice trailed off as the next statement was so hard to let out. It was as if something was hooking on his throat, making it hard for him to speak.

He can’t possibly say that.

"So, you did not tell him the other part?" Logan questioned as he stood up from his stool scanning all over Chief body with dark eyes.

"I did," Chief said in a breath, Logan’s mood has just been activated into his beast mood so, he better speak up. "I did,"

Chief eyes darted to the door, hoping for a savior to walk in from that door. Logan wasn’t someone to mess with and he just did it again.

"I told him."

And then, Logan sat down giving Chief some breathing space, "How did you put the statement?"

Logan already has everything mapped out and first, he would start from this Chief commander to take Alfred down. That’s what he was doing.

"I told him I want to leave the law force," Chief repeated forcefully. When he said it to Alfred, he felt his whole world crumbling down.

He had expected Alfred to ask for a reason but rather, that despicable man just agreed to his decision. And even said he would help him to back down without much stress and nuisance.

Chief felt like crying.

He never guessed that this despicable bastard would ruin him and his whole career this way and to make everything smooth the way he wants, he involved Alfred, with Alfred’s positive response and not asking why, the whole career he worked hard for was successfully destroyed with just one person.

"My condolences you are no longer needed," Logan emphasized on Chief destroyed life. From the look on the Chief’s face, he does not need to ask to know Alfred’s reply.

That man, Alfred never disappoints him.

Chief was the first step to his whole successful plan so, he designed his body in a way that even the police force would let him off.

Chief blood left his face and for a moment, his heart rejoiced that Alfred was already taking moves on killing this scum.

Soon, his annoying face would be wiped off the face of the earth.

As if Logan read Chief thought, he turned to Chief and at that moment, they held each other gaze, "What else did you guys converse about?"

"He said something about Arissa declining the audition offer," Chief spoke up without hesitation to avoid Logan’s suspicion. If he makes Logan suspect there was more to that, his death would start here.

He does not care about death but before he does, he wants to first attend Logan’s burial. Which would be sure.

Logan nodded his head. Chief was lying and he knows it.

Unknown to Chief, Logan knows all of his movements and conversations he held with someone and even hears the next person’s reply.

If only Chief knew, on that day he was offered water, he would have declined it. There was a tiny substance in the water that day. So tiny.

And the next person would not know when he swallowed it. It was a device used to monitor the next person’s whole activities so, Chief does not have to lie.

He already knows the arranged plot for his death and it seems like he would start taking his moves after the audition.

"Where are the files?" Logan asked standing up to leave before he would end Chief’s life for the lie he just spilled.

"They are all complete over there," Chief murmured pointing out his weak hand to the table across from him.

Walking towards the table, Logan picked up the files - documents to all of Alfred’s embezzlement. And with predatory dark eyes, he left the ward.
