Chapter 46: Gruesome dream.

And then before her eyes, he released a bullet.

"NO!!!" Arissa screamed as she woke up with a loud gasp, sweat all over her body.

Her whole hair stood due to fear and her body trembled. She just had a bloody and horrible nightmare with lots of bloodshed in it and strangely, Nicklaus was involved.

She woke up the moment he was shot by the other party and for a wired reason, he kind of protected her in the dream. She sat up and in seconds, she came down from the bed and ran into her bathroom - kneeling and bending her face over the seat, she puked.

The gruesome sight of the dream affected her whole body badly down to her pit stomach. The whole bloody scene replayed in her memory and made more substances forcefully escape her stomach. Remembering something, she stiffened.

Her eyelashes trembled; after that morning breakfast - the one that Geal shared with them, she hadn’t caught sight of him around the house and it had been two days now. Just the maids alone whenever she comes back from the hospital.

She does not care where he was or what was doing whereas, she met him at a club but.. but this dream is scaring the hell out of her.

"What... what if? What if the dream turns into reality? - somehow." she gasped using her palm to shut her mouth from uttering such thoughts.

Standing up, she washed her mouth and walked out of the bathroom. Entering her room, she turned her face to Blu. who was still asleep, and with a low sigh, she picked up a white night robe and left the room.

She needs a little air out of this room right now.

Chills ran down her spine as she opened her door and saw Nicklaus steps away from her, about to open his door. She stood still before her door as she looked around him.

"Klaus," she called fastly. She might not be seeing the blood because of his dark suit color so, she has to ask to be sure.

Nicklaus raised his brow." When did she start giving me a nickname?" he thought.

"Nicklaus," she called him again as she fought her leg will to walk over to him and scan his body.

He gave her a side glare at how she is being a pest but still did not turn to her and focused on opening his door.

"Are you okay?" she asked with a bit of concern when he did not reply to his name.

And now, Nicklaus turned to her. Did she hit her head or something? Knowing a bit of her, he does not know if he should take her question as an insult or a concerned question.

"Nicklaus answer me," Arissa said with anxiety. When he just stood there looking at her, all the scenes of him laying in his pool of blood flashed through her memory, and before she would know how to stop her feet, she was already before him with her hands on both sides ad his jaw.

"Nicklaus?" Fear cover her eyes when he still said nothing but just stood there staring at her and then, his thin lips parted.

"Did you miss me that much?" he asked, a frown all over his expression.

He knows he’s wrong going on a business trip without telling his ’wife’ - not that she cared so now, what’s her stress with him and how he’s feeling?

Arissa’s mouth opened in an instant. She came back to her senses when she felt his ticklish beards under her palm and seeing how close they were with her hands on his jaw, she backed away as if electrified.

Nicklaus rolled his eyes not understanding her actions, exhaling, "Is anything the matter?" he asked her as he took one step closer to her, searching her eyes and body language.

Arissa’s breath hitched in awkwardness as she took a step back and with a rub on her forehead, she said, "I think I hurt my head," she lied smoothly but technically, her head does hurt right now. The dream hurts her head a lot.

And with that, she walked away to the elevator.

Nicklaus shrugged his shoulders before walking into his room.

.....

Nicklaus walked out of the gym he thought she was at and headed to the living room. Climbing down the staircase, he spotted her figure in the dimly lit living room crouched awkwardly on the three-seater couch like she was scared of something.

His brow furrowed as he walked towards her. And his eyes tightened when he sensed she was asleep - what was she thinking to sleep off on a couch?

He bent down and looked at her copper brown hair that poured over her face while she folded her knee to her chest and held it with both hands.

He moved his hand to her hair.

Taking the hair strands off her face, he felt her soft silky hair texture for the first time. He took in a deep breath and used his fingers to comb her hair for a split second.

And then he paused when his eyes went to her face. She was wildly awake looking at him, directly into his eyes.

"Here," Nicklaus said as he stood straight and took two steps away as he outstretched his hands to Arissa.

"Why?" Arissa asked giving him a skeptical look as her eyes went off his face and to the pills in his hand.

She noticed he has already taken a bath from his fresh scent and change of cloth but still, seeing him whole did not take the fear off her mind.

Nicklaus took a short breath to stay in line with her too many questions without snapping at her.

"You hurt your head," he answered, surprised she did not snap at him for his earlier action.

His response made her raise her left brow and looked at him like he grew three heads, "So?" she asked him as she sat up on the couch.

"So?" he questioned, "I brought the pills for you," he answered calmly different from the almost scrolling tune he used in asking her ’so?’

Arissa swallowed as she blinked. Biting her inner lips gum, she took the pills from him, and Nicklaus who thought of another skin contact like when she held his jaw was disappointed at how swiftly she took the pills off his hand without touching his palm.

"What?" he asked seeing she just sat down there looking up at him with the pills in her hand.

"Am I supposed to chew the pills?" she asked softly as she tiredly lay down on the couch again without waiting for his reply.

Nicklaus blinked as he stared down at her curled figure. "Why don’t you take the pills?" he asked confused as he do not understand her tune and soft actions.

Perhaps, she would be having more head problems than a headache if she thinks he would move to the kitchen and get her the water. He has already done enough by bringing her the drugs.

Arissa glanced at him from between her hair. What kind of stupid question was that?

"Cause you did not give me a glass of water," she complained with an ending sigh before turning away from him and facing the couch. The more she looked at him, the more the bloody scene hunt her and make her weak physically, mentally, and emotionally.

So, he should just give her some space and help by helping her to get water and move away from her sight.
