Chapter 287: Reality Differs.
Valeria drove back to Geal’s house after visiting the hotel she expected him to be at. Her expression looked all tired and it was that way because she was trying her best to forget all Logan told her.
His past was so dark that it almost messed with her mentality. So how much more for him?
Alfred deserves whatever Logan planned to do to him or what has already done to him but for his daughter, although she doesn’t know her, she would have to talk sense into Logan to let the lady off his hook.
He should not obsess over her. It terrified her that already has. Even to the point of having her portrait hung above his bed.
Even if Arissa got married to who she would want to, it doesn’t change the fact she was also a woman and it did not stop her from putting herself into Arissa’s shoes.
Being in the hands of your obsessor could be a fairytale in novels but reality serves differently.
Logan wasn’t her Logan of before and he would not know he could be hurting the woman while keeping her just by his side.
All these thoughts clouded her mind as she drove back to Geal’s mansion. Getting there, she highlighted the car and immediately strolled to his room, pushing Logan’s thought to the back of her head to think about it later.
Right now, she needed the comfort only Geal could serve better.
"God, I am so tired, hungry, and emotionally exhausted right now," Valeria complained, walking into Geal’s room after just a light knock on his door that he did not reply to.
She saw some plates on his room desk and without asking, she went over to the table and began opening the plates but to her disappointment, there was nothing in any of the plates.
They were all empty with a fruit basket beside them and a jug of water.
"Geal," she called his name, dragging it as if she was about to cry, "I’m hungry, and your plates are all empty,"
However, Geal kept on staring at his phone and was not listening. Valeria walked over to the bed and slumped into it.
With a deep sigh, she went on complaining, "I feel like I could die," she sat up and took off her boots.
Turning to Geal, her brows ceased up realizing he was ignoring her because of something on his phone.
She climbed up on the bed, sat beside him, and relaxed her head on his right shoulder. Even after doing that, he still ignored her and she was tempted to sink her teeth into his skin.
"Geal!!!" she yelled.
Geal rolled his eyes, "What?" his voice sounded like that of a frustrated older brother.
Valeria took her head off his shoulder and sat alone, "I said I am so tired, hungry, and emotionally exhausted right now," she repeated herself.
Geal combed his hand through his hair, "I heard you the first time," he faced her with a smile.
Valeria raised a brow at him, "So?"
Geal winked at her. "I mean you met the maids downstairs, why come here before remembering how famished you are?"
"True," Valeria murmured, and then she frowned, "I was in a haste to scold you. Why did you not tell me you would head back home? I went looking for you at the hotel,"
Geal scoffed, "Before you start being all moody and childish, I want you to know that Jocelyn Grayson finally replied to our emails. The one specially sent by me did the magic," he bragged his about effort.
Valeria made a smug expression, "You would have done this earlier than ordering me around," she also rubbed her effort on his face.
Geal scoffed, "It was never too late,"
Valeria laid straight on the bed, "So when did you tell her to resume? Did she say anything about Freya or her manager?" she asked.
Geal shook his head, "She said nothing much, she only appreciates us for reaching out to her and promised to give us a call soonest," he enlightened.
Valeria’s face cringed in annoyance and she sat up on the bed, "What does she take herself as? You are the biggest CEO in the modeling world, and yet, she gives you time. I bet she doesn’t like her job," she scoffed.
Geal chuckled. He stood up from the bed, walked over to his desk, and picked up an apple from the fruit basket.
"Catch," he threw the apple to Valeria for her to catch, "You complained about your emotions and I am seeing how bad it is. Eat the apple and it will help your temper," he explained before she would throw questions at him concerning the apple.
Valeria fixed her eyes on the apple for a moment before digging her teeth deep into the fruit.
"Tsk," Geal clicked his tongue when he saw how she dug her teeth into the apple, "So uncultured and unladylike," he jokingly mocked her.
Valeria eyed him and continued eating the apple. She was as famished as a f*ck and would talk to him after feeding her worms.
Geal picked up a tangerine, peeled it, and joined her back on the bed.
He drooped the peeled tangerine before her and questioned curiously, "What did you say caused you to be emotionally exhausted?"
Valeria did not give him an immediate reply. She first finished her apple, requested a glass of water, drank all of it, and cleared her throat before answering, "A friend of mine.." She picked up the tangerine before her, "..told me about his past. I felt like a bad friend because I only saw how much he changed and not how much he suffered until today," she confided in him.
Geal’s lips twisted meaningfully, "How does this friend of yours feel now?"
Valeria stared down at the tangerine, "He feels better now," she told him confidently. She looked back at Geal, "I was hoping you would meet him one day. I promise you two will get along,"
Geal shrugged his shoulders and said thoughtfully, "Something about to shake the business world is coming,"
Valeria’s eyes darted to him, "How do you assume this?" she questioned indifferently with less interest.
He kept his reply short. "Nicklaus Wyatt. The Wyatt family just got involved with someone as prominent as they were in the past,"
He climbed off the bed and added, "So bad you came back now I would want to visit someone. Feel comfortable, call me if you need me," he said to her before leaving the room.
