Chapter 221: Broken Beyond Repair.

’Turn over,’

Her skin lost all color when she heard those two words leaving his lips. Her eyes widened in disbelief as if a sudden jolt of electricity had cursed through her veins.

Arissa felt insulted. He sounded like he was talking to some slut he happened to pick up from a brothel. Her face turned bloody red from embarrassment.

She reached for her shirt and held the sides together to hide her white undervest from him. This could be labeled as the highest form of disrespect he had ever given to her.

’Is he about to force me to have sex with_’ her thoughts caught up in her mind when she looked into his dark eyes.

Those words that left his lips came out as a shock and truth be told, she was sure of hating on him in the next minute but not after seeing that look in his eyes.

Her breath left her, her jaw dropped and when she saw the emotions in those eyes, her heart stopped beating. The pain in those eyes were raw and unmistakable.

He was carrying something extremely dark, emotions extremely heavy. She should have stopped questioning when he gave her clues about how hurt he felt.

Those dark eyes that looked like it would kill her seconds ago were now filled with confusion, anger, regret, sadness, and loneliness.

The emotions left as soon as they came but one of them never did. There in his eyes remained ’lost’. He was visibly lost and she felt it.

Her heart tore, and she gulped trying to understand him. Nicklaus was more complex than nature itself. He was staring down at her with all dominance.

Dominance doesn’t deserve any ounce of pity from the next person but his eyes said otherwise. He only used dominance to hide his true feeling.

Nicklaus met her eyes with glaring icing stares that sent a burst of adrenaline through her veins, preparing her to fight or flee.

However, Arissa did none of that. She let go of her shirt, raising her back an inch above the couch, she took off her blazer before the shirt. Leaving her body alone with a lacy white undervest and her white bra for his flaming eyes to feast on.

All fibers in her understand him and could even relate with him. S*x might be his escape from those dark feelings but she was ready to prove him wrong. And she was sure she could.

She gulped.

The pain she felt from him was too much and before she knew it, hot tears left her eyes. Her vision turned blurry but it never stopped her action.

Nicklaus’s breath caught up in his throat. Speechless, he watched her. Arissa reached for her sky-blue jean pant. Under his squinting watch, she unhooked it, waiting for him to stop her.

She was already betting on her life he was no monster but just a kind, heartwarming human covered with his pains at the moment.

She puffed out a breath. Shutting her eyes, her hand reached for her zipper and finally, her hand stopped moving.

No, more like someone stopped it from moving. A ghost smile of appreciation flashed on her lips as she parted her eyes.

She was really proud of him.

Not giving her a chance to fully open her eyes, Nicklaus claimed her lips. His lips were soft and filled with apology.

Arissa stayed rotted under him. She allowed him to steal her breath without retaliating. More tears left her eyes when his tongue demanded an entrance into her mouth.

Slightly parting her lips, she let him in. He scared her back there. She had thought he would force her into having s*x with no care.

"I’m sorry I went too far," Nicklaus apologized in the kiss.

Arissa sniffed and finally her hand threaded into his hair with great gentleness and with all the feeling she has for him in her heart, she kissed him back.

Her legs tangled with his, giving him comfort on that body path also. He needed comfort, he was damaged and shattered from the inside.

How come she never realized it until now? Why was she so blind to avoiding or hating him - as he had thought - when she could have tried mending him?

He won’t like to admit to it but he has done a lot for her. Breaking her restriction alone was akin to giving her heaven on earth.

Not just there, he had done many more little gestures that she appreciates down to her heart. Yet, she never came to notice that the man who tried coming in but she kept pushing away was broken.

Broken beyond repair.

With what she was feeling from the link she shared with him, she doubt it would be an easy foot to heal him - that is if he could even be healed.

Whoever damaged him this way to no repair must really be a very powerful lady. She know she would never get close to that lady even if she tries for eternity. That lady owns his heart to break a powerful man like Nicklaus this way.

His hands traced her curves slowly, she let him. Only now she realized she must have been hurting him so bad all those while.

Those moments she would become so heartless to him, she could tell he might remember that ex who have broken him this way and that, that alone equals more pain.

Arissa wasn’t flattering herself, and neither was she trying to take that woman’s place in his heart or wash her away. She merely knows him and to think she could break him was delusional but it also wasn’t delusional since he might get his ex hurt again from her actions.

She wasn’t even confident of being strong enough to take his turmoil away but she believed she could. At least, pinch by pinch, restlessly pinching them off, and before he would know it, that large spot his ex darkened would be bright again and piece by piece, she believed she could fix his heart again.

Not whole to glitter again but whole to let the people who love him in. Her included. She might not love him the way he loved his ex or his ex loved him, but she does love him as a person.

Note, not romantically.

Nicklaus parted the kiss and pulled her into an embrace. He hugged her right and for two whole minutes, no one said a word.

"I’m sorry I treated you that way and got you scared," he apologized and acknowledged her feelings, not parting the hug.

While she removed her things, he waited. Waited for her to be obedient and let him pour his rage on her for the first time.

However, when she reached for her zippers and her hand trembled slightly, good rationality of his sense found themselves back to him and that was when he also realized she was already crying.

"Forgive me," he begged, his voice trembling.

Two minutes was already gone in the hug but she was still yet to hug him back. It terrified him. He can’t afford to make her mad again and ruin all he fought for.

Wait, what he did do earlier, hasn’t he already ruined it all?
