His Toxic Addiction -
Chapter 187: Heaven Or Hell
Chapter 187: Heaven Or Hell
Sarah gripped Logan’s arms violently as she persuaded him to path his lips. She nibbled on his lower lips, trying to make the kiss heated but to her frustration, Logan did not participate in the kiss.
Slowly, he pushed her away. Breathless, Sarah backed away but after staring into those dead eyes of his for a moment, she charged forward again.
"Sarah that’s enough," Logan halted her when she tried to crash their lips together again after he had stepped away for the third time.
Sarah halted, she began to fidget with her fingers while she stared into his eyes with her already wet ones.
Just a blink and her tears would roll down.
Logan studied her bruised face and chapped lips caused by whatever his men had done to her. Not that he cared, they could do whatever they want but not kill or disfigure her.
Well, she looks good bruised.
His eyes went over to the tray she knocked to the floor before passing his dark gaze at her. Her tears were becoming irritating but he did his best and put up with it.
"I would have a maid get you a new meal," he told her.
Sarah shook her head. She should be the most foolish being on this planet because she was hurting herself over and over again for no reason but she couldn’t stop.
While being tortured, all Sarah planned to do when she sees Logan was to make his life equally miserable in whatever way she could but standing before him, she couldn’t.
It wasn’t out of fear but out of love. Yes, she know the feeling was love. If not love, something a step over love, and she wondered if it was just her teenage hormones acting up or if truly she was in love with this man before her.
With a face like his, his body structure, height, and personality, who wouldn’t love a man like him? His personality might be twisted but she -Sarah - was ready to pay the price that comes with such a twisted personality to share a closer bond with him.
"Does this mean you believe me? Am I free from this torture?" she asked from behind him when he was almost near the door.
Logan turned to her, "Eat up, take a rest throughout the night, and wait for the next day." he gave her a disjointed answer, and with that, he left.
Sarah thinned her lips before sitting back on the floor dejectedly while she spaced out looking at the wasted food on the floor.
She was living for nothing. Life already means nothing to her. Her family was gone, and her friends and relatives are nowhere to be found.
If there was a reason why she still endures this life, it was because she wanted to meet with Alfred and ask the sin her family committed to be wiped off the earth like birds.
Though she doesn’t know her father so well as he doesn’t stay with them, she could lay down her life to swear her father was incapable of anything that would warrant death as a punishment from another person.
And what about Mr. Adams, what was he doing not answering her calls? Wasn’t it he who promised to make her see Alfred suffer and now he was keeping her calls hanging?
Was this how he planned to keep his end of the deal?
Her head turned heavy as it hurt from thinking. Blinking her tears away, she remembered that woman in the portrait. Alfred’s daughter - Arissa - looked so beautiful, stress-free, and okay.
She also knows about his having and loving small family. He was keeping his safe to kill others. If this breakdown doesn’t ki her first, she would make sure she kills him before she does.
She was here with bruises and no place to go but his daughters lived perfectly, while her father go around ruining other people’s lives.
She have seen the look in Logan’s eyes whenever he talks about that lady and with a sigh of acknowledgment, she swallowed the bitter pills that he had eyes only on that woman and until she was out of the way, there would be no chance between the both of them - she and Logan.
A knock resounded through her ears, breaking her off her train of thought. With tired legs and body, she walked to the door and opened it.
Just as she expected, it was the maid with a tray. Not letting the maid to even catch a glimpse of her room, she took the tray from the maid into her trembling ones.
"Master said you should_"
Sarah let out a tired sigh before rudely shutting the door at the maid’s face. He should have said all he wanted before leaving.
Shutting the door in the maid’s face, she walked into the room with slow and steady steps as she tried not to waste this new tray.
Eating slowly, she finished the meal in a matter of seconds before pushing the tray aside and with a painful grunt, she stretched her injured body on the bed.
She took in a deep breath before shutting her eyes as she mentally prepared herself for whatever tomorrow would come with.
She could die anytime soon, she knows that and she doesn’t care about it as she had already given up on life the moment Mr. Adams broke the deal and also, the second Logan rejected her.
It was as if Logan suspected her thoughts because, in her both trays, there wasn’t a trace of a fork not to even speak about a knife.
She knew what he was preventing but trust her, no matter what happens, she would never take her life. If she wanted to she would have done it since she was with Alfred.
Right now, she could only pray for Logan to give out an order for her death whenever he feels like it. She no longer cares about seeing Alfred, she just wants to go and join her family in heaven or hell, wherever they are.
