Chapter 178: An Ice-cream Treat.

Chapter 178: An Ice-cream Treat.

Arissa a took in a deep breath the moment they got into the car. When Lukas started driving, she just rested her face on the tinted glass and zoomed off.

To be realistic, Raquel attitude stunned her as she tried to think back if maybe they had some past argument.

But thinking back, they had none and also, they have never spoken apart from the day when she was out with Nicklaus and what she told her that day wasn’t suppose to warrant such a malicious act as this.

She released a deep sigh as she tried to imagine what Mrs. Wyatt would be thinking of her right now. She did her best to keep it all cool but she knew if she was alone with that lady, she would have slapped her

mouth so hard before she would dare call her a whore.

How dare she? What was that lady thinking?

"Are you okay?" Mrs. Wyatt questioned, breaking the silence in the car. Slowly, her hand landed on Arissa shoulder and with her hand on the woman shoulder, she rubbed it softly when she felt how tensed Arissa was.

"You don’t have to worry, I don’t believe a word she said. I know her more than you do and I know when she’s just being foolish and acting out of line,"

Arissa said nothing to Mrs Wyatt and just faced the window again. She wasn’t in the mood to talk and why was Mrs. Wyatt still this calm with her.

She could already imaging her mother slapping her viciously if someone called her a whore before her this way.

"Don’t tell me you just let her control your emotions. You were strong back there, what happened now?" Rue spoke up from the passenger front seat.

Arissa let out a low thoughtful sigh as she realized herself. This might be Raquel goal to see her miserable and that might be the reason why she said all of those mean things.

Even if she did not show her hurt before her eyes, Raquel still won because she was the one now sulking in her car.

She can’t even understand her beef with that woman. Ever since the night from the auction, her woman instinct never like that woman. It was just that way like it was signed from heaven.

Arissa smiled at Rue, "I see no reason why I should do that when I barely know who she is," she told her.

"Of course," Rue backed her up.

Mrs. Wyatt smiled at her foudly, "Did you enjoy today?"

"I did," Arissa replied her and then, her voice turned low when she added, "Is this how it feels?"

Mrs Wyatt brow arched up for an explanation and Rue turned to them, "How does what feel, dear?" Mrs Wyatt asked when suddenly, Arissa refused to speak up.

Arissa stared into Mrs. Wyatt eyes, "Outing with a mother, is this how it feels?" she asked lowly.

All through her life, she have never stepped out of the house with her parents unless for some business meetings where her parents would just flash her and Adele for the media to see but anything other than that, like a casual outing as this, she have never experienced one.

It was refreshing and exciting and she could not help but feel choked up with her tears. She had rejected this marriage with the whole of her heart.

But to be honest, in some aspect, her parents did her good. If she had known someone like Mrs Wyatt as a mother, she wasn’t sure of taking the world as a bad place.

Mrs. Wyatt could not hold in her smile when she heard what Arissa said and with that smile, Arissa tears left her eyes.

Rue immediately turned away when Mrs. Wyatt pulled Arissa into her arms and stroked the girl back lovingly.

"Whatever you missed out on, you can tell me about it and when ever you want to i’d help you to experience it. Just don’t feel bad, i’d always be here," Mrs Wyatt cajoled her with promises to stop her from crying.

Arissa bit her lips hard as she tried to stop but it was fruitless because she ended up sniffing, "Thank you so much," she said through her muffled tears while she hugged the older woman more tight.

There was no comfort in this world that this woman haven’t given to her or haven’t tried giving to her. And Arissa could not thank the heavens enough.

She had thought all mothers were the same line like her mother and her aunt but it turned out to be she was wrong on that part.

Mrs. Wyatt was sweet and genuinely kind and Arissa hopes there would be more people like her in the world.

"That’s enough. Though i’d leave as soon as we get back home but my promise still stands. Call me anytime you want to experience anything you missed out on," she told Arissa while patting her back like she was a kid.

Arissa blinked, "Anything?"

Mrs Wyatt nodded a yes before assuring, "Yes, anything,"

Arissa parted from the hug, "Can I request an ice-cream treat the next time you come around?" she asked with an hope filled eyes.

Mrs. Wyatt was astonished to see this part of her cold daughter in law and with a thin amazed smile, she answered, "Sure, I said anything,"

With the amount of joy that flowed in Arissa at that moment, she would have jumped in excitement had it been she was a kid but being a grownup did not let her.

And then, she became a bit sad. Adele, had also wanted to do this with their parent but they never had the chance to as they were always occupied with work.

Thinking positive, she prayed Adele would be up in the next couple of days and until then, she would postponed the treat.

Staring at Mrs. Wyatt with adoration, Arissa smiled at her before pulling the woman into another hug
