Chapter 162: A Friend Or A Foe (2)

With unknown feelings, Arissa’s feet halted, and she turned to the hospital ward window with a smile. She tried to get past the window after catching a glimpse of the couple in there but that was impossible as the couple warmed her heart.

With a toothless smile of admiration, she rooted with all focus as she watched the couple. She hardly does this but the couple inside were worth all the attention she gave to them.

She can’t see their faces as the woman’s back was facing her while the man’s face was very close to the woman’s as he seems to be kissing her.

An entertained expression painted her face as she held the window railings and watches the couple with all respect from the small holes.

And then, she remembered her parents. Though she once thought they loved each other even when she believed they were in love, she has never seen them give out this strong healthy aura the couple in the ward emitted.

She doesn’t know them nor had she met them before but Arissa could feel the love they had for each other deep down in her bone marrow.

With eyes filled with admiration, she let out a lonely sad smile over her face. This was what she wanted as a marriage life. The wife on the bed seems extremely sick.

Arissa could tell that because the lady’s hair was bald and she was bonny and skinny but still, the man loves her, even without her feminine beauty.

She could imagine the look on her father’s face if her mother goes out of shape, and being bald. Well, they might divorce that instant.

She was a growing child who saw her parent’s marriage as a loving one but still, the times when her father endlessly calls her mother fat wasn’t something her then-young mind did not note down.

Another tear rolled down her cheek with a happy smile when she saw them forming the love symbol with their fingers.

Someone once told her that love dies. Yes, she could recall that. She has read of it and even her mother told that to her once but seeing these couples today, that statement was beginning to fade from her heart.

She knew those couples weren’t young couples, probably the age of her parents and it surprised her that they could still be so clingy to the point of acting like teenagers once again with that symbol.

She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear before wiping her tears with the back of her palm and with a happy smile, she listened to the woman laugh weakly but happily to whatever the man has told her.

God, they were so adorable that Arissa got lost in them without taking note of a figure behind her as he watched the lovely scene also through her shoulders.

"What a loving couple," he mused in a deep voice that could leave one startled.

Arissa’s breath left her as she came back to reality. A frown was marred upon her face when she realized it wasn’t someone she knows as the voice wasn’t close to being familiar.

Turning around to face who had the audacity of being so close behind her, such that she could feel his heat, her socket almost left her eyes when she finally saw who was behind her.

Giving her a creepy smile, he raised his hand to place it on her left shoulder, and with an irritated reflex, Arissa escaped his hold.

Since she recognized the face and had been wary of the person, she tried not to be rude and gave him a questioning brow to make clear the reason he was behind her that way and maybe, who he was. She should know who he was but no longer having a pinch of trust towards Mr. Adams, she suspected even this man’s identity he once gave to her might also be fake.

"I was enjoying the view," the man spoke up when he saw Arissa’s strong brows raised at him that way, "You know, they are the rare type of couples to find these days which is sad because one would leave soon and the world would be minus one to such sweet marriage," he told her, his eyes fixed on the couples.

Arissa frowned and took a step away from him. This was a public place and he can’t harm her if he wants to but she still can’t stand that close to him.

Which was weird because her mind wandered to Nicklaus with the perspective that he was the only one allowed to be so close to her like he couldn’t wait to seize her lips.

Arissa’s eyes widened at that thought and her fists clenched immediately.

’That bastard! He better stay wherever he is until I figure out something,’

"Who_"

"I’m Logan Paul, I’ve always been looking forward to meeting you in person," the man cut her off as he stretched out his hand to take hers for a handshake.

Arissa stared at his outstretched hand and back to his face. What does he mean by looking forward to seeing me in person? Arissa thought.

When her gaze locked with his, Logan gave her a charming smile that would have depleted any girl’s knee but not Arissa’s.

’He doesn’t hold a candlelight to Nicklaus,’ she thought and immediately, her blood dried up. Did she just think about Nicklaus again? And wait, did she just compare this stranger to him?

’What’s wrong with me?’ she thought in atrociousness.

To distract herself from Nicklaus, she gave the man a polite nod and shook hands with him but with cautions well, not until her mind wandered off again in thoughts.

’Nicklaus’s palm is softer,’ she thought again in remembrance of when he spanked her ass and the countless occasions he held her close to kiss her.

She felt wired having all those thoughts.

Scared of her thoughts, she forcefully took her palm off the man’s own as she cut off their contact and this earned her a brow from the man.

’Logan Paul,’ Arissa’s eyes immediately turned calculating but her stern demeanor turned softer as she don’t want the man to suspect she knows him somewhere as she still don’t know if he was a friend or a foe to her father.

A friend of her father was an enemy to her and with the aura surrounding this man it was difficult to detect his motive as he did great in suppressing his real emotions. It was hard for Arissa to see through his approach.

Curious to find out why he has always wanted to meet her, she decided to play along as she doesn’t know what to think about today’s fate.

The fact he approached her in the hospital scared her but she subdue her fear. He might be for her father and he can also be against her father. It could also be that he knows nothing about her family conflict and Mr. Adams was all wrong which she wishes could be possible but from his actions and the day at the auction, dread covered her heart.
