His Toxic Addiction
Chapter 151: Being Followed.

Chapter 151: Being Followed.

Wearing his black hoodie properly, Mr. Adams took slow shaky steps into the hidden grocery store. He felt eyes on him but he figured it was probably because of how he was dressed and again, whoever was trying to find him wouldn’t be able to know he was the one.

This Mr. Adams looked like a man walking out of his sixties. He did well to hide his appearance as he was an exact image of a plumpy advanced man - thanks to the body suit underneath his hoodie.

His sharp gaze scanned the store warily as he did his best to look as pathetic as he always had whenever coming to this store.

Getting all he needed for another three weeks, he went to the cashier’s desk. Each second was his life counting and he could not afford to act more sluggish than necessary.

Paying the cashier, his brow furrowed when he felt a heated gaze on him. Sharply turning the direction of the suspicious gaze, he saw no one there but a cat under the street light.

He shrugged his shoulders before turning back to the cashier girl who was all jovial to him though he have never said a word to her.

And that was why this neighborhood was his best escape where he could map out all of his plans. The people were all jovial while they minded their business.

In the eyes of most people particularly children, he was their old grandpa and they made sure to give him that respect and love, like now, a ten-year-old child ran towards him.

"Grandpa," the boy called with an auspicious giggle as he ran towards Mr. Adams, "Let me have your bag," the boy requested.

As usual, Mr. Adams said nothing and just handed the grocery bag over to him. They both walked out of the store and Mr Adams’s eyes darkened when he felt an eye on him, still from that same spot.

His steps turned slow when he saw not even a shadow there. Whoever was watching him might have some suspicion and he have to make that person believe he was just an old man while he take his time to survey the area for threats.

"Grandpa, are you alright?" the loving kid asked curiously when he noticed how slow Mr. Adams was walking.

Mr. Adams said nothing as he kept on watching around the area with his eyes just at a spot. He immediately regretted stepping out this early but he had to least starve to death. He can’t hide forever.

The boy stopped in worry, "Grandpa you could sit on the pavement while I get help," he suggested and immediately held Mr Adams’s hand to lead him to the pavement but to his surprise, Mr. Adams or in this case, Grandpa forcefully yanked his wrist off the boy hold and this caused the boy falling to the floor.

Mr. Adams did not spare the boy a glance as in the next second, he fled from that spot. He needs to leave the environment at that instant.

It wasn’t just a feeling, he knew someone from an enemy side has gotten his location.

Bolting the door of the puppet house he got to stay hidden, he fastly reached for the door side drawer for his gun in case of anything.

Scrambling inside the dark drawer, the intruder who broke into his house came to him first, pointing a gun at his head.

Mr. Adam was shocked when he heard footsteps behind him. How come he did not notice? He frowned when he felt the cold metal against his head and he froze.

"Your gun was quite useful so I had to claim possession of it," the intruder said.

Mr. Adams raised his hand to the air as he prepared himself for combat. No one takes him down in combat and he would be merciful to whoever this person is to give him a quick death.

"Turn around," the man commanded, and Mr. Adams immediately acted ignorant about what was happening.

"I have no idea who you are or what you want from me," Mr. Adams said in a voice firmer than the age he portrayed, and immediately he cursed himself when he realized he had used his real voice and let himself out open but whichever way, his identity was out if not he wouldn’t have been followed.

As if luck was on his side, the man got distracted for a split second when he used his real voice and Mr. Adams used that opportunity as he immediately knocked the gun off the man’s grip with a strong arm hit.

"Shit," the man cursed and immediately threw a punch at Mr. Adams’s face before going after the gun.

Mr. Adams grunt and without restraint, he went after the man. The body suit slowed him down but his steps were still swift.

Kicking the gun off the man’s hand, Mr. Adams yanked the man’s body off the floor through the man’s suit collar. Saving himself, the intruder gave Mr. Adams a backward nose nod and Mr Adams immediately dropped him to the floor.

Bringing out a pen knife from his inner suit, the intruder swiftly gave Mr. Adams a deep leg cut before rolling away from him. Getting the other leg, he slashed him again this time, deeper than the other, and blood oozed out badly.

"Who sent you?" Mr. Adams roared out as he charged toward the man on the floor and with killing rage, he sat on the man and punched him.

Giving him relentless punches, he roared at the man, asking who sent him. The intruder underneath him just smiled and stared at him as if waiting for something to happen while his face bleed from ruthless punches.

Mr. Adams got annoyed by the man’s nonchalant smirk and he strangled the intruder, blue veins popped out of Mr. Adams’s hands as he strangled the intruder tighter.

The intruder under him frowned as he saw life slipping off him. He would have retaliated - I mean he was capable of retaliating but he wanted Mr. Adams to feel the effect of the poison from the knife first.

The intruder got a hold of Mr. Adams’s wrist to yank it off his neck and that was when he felt it. Mr. Adams suddenly went dizzy as his body turned limply stiff.

His eyes shone in horror, and he fell to the side of the intruder in pain as white foam escaped his mouth and choked him.

The intruder on the floor heaved for air. Done with his deed, he picked up the pen knife and placed it back into his pocket.

Heaving in relief, he got a hold of his walkie-talkie hung on his left abdomen, "The deed is done. Come over, let’s get him to the boss,"
