Chapter 123: TERRIBLE UNIVERSE!
Chapter 123: TERRIBLE UNIVERSE!
Arissa kicked the sand gently, "Nicklaus guards are everywhere around us," she grunt when she felt thousands of eyes on her.
Can someone be this unbelievable or rather, twisted? After granting her international freedom, she tightened her twenty-four hours in prison and added more guards to her.
Everything was getting irritating but she couldn’t afford to get mad because he only seems to be protecting her. On her part, she has to stop making things hard for him.
Right now, the two friends were enjoying the afternoon sun at the beach. The beach was less crowded since the sun would go down soon. They were only with one guard while the other was with Adele but still, Arissa could tell that a thousand more guards were lurking around them.
Jocelyn turned to Arissa before taking off her sunshades, "How did you know that?" she felt no eyes around but with how Arissa kept on saying more eyes were around them, it felt cringe.
"I just know," Arissa sighed, "His father isn’t in support of us staying together," she informed her best friend.
Jocelyn smiled, "Are you worried his father might ask you both to stay apart?" she teased.
Arissa passed Jocelyn a side glare before kicking the sand as she walked, "That’s a funny assumption. Our divorce progress might hasten up if my father gives the benefits earlier,"
"Why do you say so?"
Arissa turned to the water, "His father doesn’t want me, they are all just waiting for the benefits before we divorce. He wants his son to be happy,"
Moving further into the water, Arissa the soft underwater sands underneath her legs. She felt sad, extremely sad ever since she knew Mr Wyatt stands concerning her marriage.
She knew she was supposed to be happy with this new development. She wanted a divorce, right? But now it seems to be approaching, it encircled her heart with sadness.
Remembering what Mr. Wyatt said about Nicklaus having the freedom of being with so many women, her heart stung.
’This marriage won’t be about Loyalty,’ she recalled one of Mr. Wyatt’s lines of advice. She bit her lower lips tightly as her eyes glistered with unshed tears.
’When did my life turn out this way?’
With a dejected drop, she sat in the water and let the waves come to her. Taking deep breaths, she tried to understand her emotions.
"Arissa," Jocelyn called from behind her, "Getting socked isn’t an option," she lectured.
Arissa did not listen to Jocelyn rather, she folded her knees to her chest and dazed out as a drop of tears left her eyes.
Raising her hand to her face, she harshly cleaned the tear. Taking a sniff to clear her voice, she turned to Jocelyn behind her, "I think you should heed back. The sun would go down soon, I’d stay here for a while,"
Jocelyn shook her head as she followed suit into the water. Stepping into the waters without minding her boots and pant, she sat beside Arissa, smiling at her friend, she raised her hand to her back and stroked it with love.
"I don’t know why I feel this way, Jocelyn," Arissa confessed her feelings as two tears slide off from both eyes at once.
Turning away from Jocelyn, she cleaned her tears, "It would have just been better if I never came to this world, or better still, died as a child,"
"No," Jocelyn gasped.
Holding Arissa’s head, she tiled it sideways so it would lie on her left shoulder, "Don’t you ever wish for death," Jocelyn scolded softly.
"It’s getting all stuffy. We might get divorced soon, I’m ought to be happy right?"
"You don’t want a divorce?" Jocelyn asked further as she tried to get a point. Arissa nodded truthfully on Jocelyn’s shoulder.
Jocelyn’s eyes widened as the possibility of Arissa having feelings for that husband of hers scaled up to sixty percent.
It was all wired. Arissa had always wanted a divorce so, what changed? Arissa was supposed to pray the divorce comes faster but here she was, feeling sad over something that should have given her happiness.
"You know what?" Jocelyn tapped on Arissa’s back, "Get up," she ordered as she stood up straight.
"Why?" Arissa questioned as she stared at Jocelyn with red cheeks, "Why should I?"
Jocelyn did not reply. Rather than replying, she stood before Arissa and tried to pull her up by dragging her arm, "Get up!"
Seeing Arissa wasn’t bugging but was hellbent on seating until she explains, Jocelyn stopped pulling.
"Come on, just do it. Trust me, come on," Jocelyn said hastily as she pleaded with Arissa.
Arissa gave her a skeptical brow as she forced herself up, "Now what?" she questioned as she looked around the now quiet beach.
"Scream,"
"What?!"
Arissa was taken aback by Jocelyn’s order. How would she order her to scream, why would she scream?
Jocelyn smiled, "The universe is an asshole that gave you such parents who destroyed your life this way,"
Arissa’s brows furrowed in confusion, "So why should I scream?" she asked softly.
Jocelyn rubbed her forehead exaggeratedly, like a teacher having a hard time with her pupil, "I want you to yell in her face, yell at the universe,"
"Why should I yell at the universe?" Arissa questioned still not giving in to what Jocelyn was saying.
"To feel better," Jocelyn explained.
Arissa’s lips parted in disbelief, "Sometimes, that’s all you can do. You can’t beat the universe, you can’t turn back time, but you can yell at it. You can yell at her for being a bitch, yell at her for being a scumbag who doesn’t care about you," Jocelyn added.
"No, Jocelyn," Arissa argued. Screaming at the universe sounds all stupid to Arissa because the universe wasn’t here before her.
"Don’t be so high-stung, Arissa, be shameless times," Jocelyn took Arissa’s hands into both of her fists, "Scream, yell at that bitch. Trust me, you won’t feel as confused as you are now when you are done yelling, your feelings would all be sorted out and you would know what you feel about the divorce," she urged.
Arissa shakes her head in denial, "I can’t,"
"Yes, you can," Jocelyn almost yelled in motivation, "Yell at that bitch, tell her she’s an ass for giving you parents_"
"I HATE YOU BLOOD-SUCKING UNIVERSE!!!!" Arissa cut Jocelyn off as she screamed with all of her might.
"Yeah. There it is, tell that bitch what she is," Jocelyn giggled in encouragement.
Walking further into the water, "AAARRRGHHHHHH TERRIBLE UNIVERSE! YOU SUCK!" Arissa yelled out again fueled with Jocelyn’s encouragement.
"YEAH! YOU SUCK!" Jocelyn backed up.
"Mrs. Wyatt!"
Arissa paused when she heard the guard who drove them here calling from behind as he frantically jogged towards them, "Are you alright Mrs. Wyatt?" he asked finally standing before them.
Arissa turned towards him, "I’m fine, just go back to your duty post,"
"Okay, Mrs." the guard agreed but his eyes went around as he was on all guards and ready to call more guards if needed.
"I’m fine,"
The guard looked at his Mrs. one last time before jogging away, still on high guard.
Arissa turned to her friend with a giggle and with a loud drop, she sat back on the water, splashing some on Jocelyn.
"How do you feel now?" Jocelyn asked expectantly as she joined back on the water.
Arissa’s face brightened up, "I FEEL GREAT!!" she yelled again and this time around, Jocelyn backed her up with a loud laugh and more curses to the universe.
A/N: I hope it’s okay to classify the universe as a "she"
