His Mistress is His Ex-Wife
Chapter 67: Date

Chapter 67: Date

’Oh shoot! I’ve forgotten about it.’

Lanny smiled apologetically, gently scratching her face. "Just be patient. I’ll take care of it," she reassured him.

"Good. Fulfill your promise otherwise, I’ll throw you out of your unit." Vladimir reminded her who the building owner was of her condo unit.

Lanny just scrolled her eyes skyward. ’This guy is always impatient. Can’t he wait for his turn? Athena is in demand, so many projects lining up for her.’

After threatening his sister, Vladimir brought his attention back to Athena. "How is it? Do you like the ambiance of the store?" he asked Athena’s opinion. Just like the V Club, this Goddess Elixir Cafe was also inspired by Athena. Vladimir knew that Athena was a coffee lover and she was fond of eating sweets.

"I love the soft and warm ambiance, most especially the aroma of freshly brewed coffee spreading through the air," Athena replied truthfully.

"I’m glad you like it." Vladimir softly mumbled, his intense gaze fixed on her charming face.

"By the way, Athena, do you want to go clubbing tonight? Let’s visit V Club. We have to celebrate your first project here in York City!" Lanny butted in. She found a way to set up the two tonight.

Lanny even glanced at Vladimir meaningfully, smirking. Vladimir could somehow understand his sister’s motive.

"Sure. Let’s do that. I haven’t seen the V Club yet. It’s Party Time!" Athena blurted out, feeling excited.

Lanny’s lips curled up into a satisfied smile. She grabbed her phone and secretly sent a message to Vladimir.

[ This is your chance! Take her out on a date tonight. I’ll pretend to be unwell so you can go with her alone. ]

A surge of excitement lit up Vladimir’s eyes as he absorbed Lanny’s message. ’For the first time, I didn’t see her as an annoying sister.’ He thought inwardly before casting a grateful look at his sister.

[ Got it! ] Vladimir simply typed his short reply.

[ Pick her up from her penthouse later. Athena and I have to go home first. ] Lanny instructed him.

[ Understood. ] Vladimir was indeed a man of few words.

"Athena, why don’t we head home first? We can meet up later around 7:00 pm," Lanny suggested. "Vlad can pick us up, and then we can all go to the V Club together." She stood up, grabbing her shoulder back.

"Sure. Sounds like a good plan. I want to change my clothes and take a quick bath. See you later, V!" Athena rose from her seat, following Lanny.

"Okay, Athena. Take care," Vlad replied with a nod. He continued to watch her back until she vanished from his sight.

"I need to make tonight special for her," Vladimir murmured with determination.

[ 6:30 pm at Athena’s Penthouse... ]

Athena had just finished applying her make-up when she received a message from Lanny.

Lanny’s Message: [ Athena, I’m sorry. I think I can’t make it tonight. I’m suddenly not feeling well. I already informed Vladimir. He is on his way to pick you up. Please enjoy the night even without me. ]

She was saddened to read Lanny’s message, worrying about her health.

Athena’s Message: [ Okay, Dear. Have you eaten your dinner? You should take your medicine and sleep early. I’ll drop by later to check on you. ]

Lanny’s Message: [ Yes. Vladimir sent me food and medicine before heading to your penthouse. Don’t worry about me. I can take care of myself. ]

Athena’s Message: [ Alright. Just let us know if you need something. Have a good rest. ]

After sending her last message, the doorbell rang. It looked like Vladimir had already arrived. A few seconds later, Athena emerged from her penthouse, exuding an air of effortless style.

Her presence seemed to illuminate the surroundings, drawing Vladimir’s gaze like a moth to a flame. Leaning against the exterior of his car, Vladimir watched in awe as she approached, his heart skipping a beat at the sight of her.

Her blue high-waisted jeans hugged her figure in all the right places, accentuating her slender frame. The denim gave off a casual yet chic vibe, perfect for a night out. The leather jacket draped effortlessly over her shoulders, while her navy blue top complemented the shade of her jeans. Completing her look was a pair of ankle boots.

But it wasn’t just her attire that captivated Vladimir—it was the way she carried herself, with confidence and grace that left him breathless. Her dark hair cascaded in soft waves around her face, so pretty and stunning.

On the other hand, Vladimir exuded an aura of rugged charm and effortless cool. Clad in a fitted black leather jacket, accentuating his broad shoulders and sculpted physique. Beneath the jacket, he wore a simple white t-shirt, and his lower half was enveloped in a pair of faded blue jeans. Tousled locks of dark hair framed his chiseled features.

"Shall we go?" Athena broke the silence first, a charming smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

Speechless, Vladimir nodded as he opened the car door for her, offering a small smile as she slid into the passenger seat beside him.

As they drove off into the night, the allure of Athena’s beauty lingered in his mind. ’Her beauty continues to overwhelm me. With each passing day, I find myself falling even harder for her.’ Vladimir thought to himself, gulping hard.

His body remained tense knowing that Athena was just sitting next to him. The desire to steal a glance at her was strong, yet he feared it might distract him from the task of driving. His palms were a bit sweaty.

’Fuck. What’s wrong with me? Why am I so nervous?’ he cursed himself inwardly.

"V, would you like to have dinner before we proceed to your club?" Athena asked, breaking the awkward atmosphere. She didn’t know why but Vladimir was acting a little bit strange tonight.

’Is he anxious because Lanny is sick?’ Athena mused to herself, assessing Vladimir.

"Yes, let’s have dinner first." Vladimir smiled at her faintly. "Where do you like to eat?"

"Hmm," Athena hummed, pressing her forefinger to her chin as she pondered. "V, I’ll leave the decision up to you," she said, letting out a giggle.

"Okay. It’s on me." Vladimir also chuckled huskily.

It did not take long before Vladimir parked the car in front of a cozy restaurant– Divine Dining Restaurant. It was a World-class restaurant known for serving different country’s cuisines.

"Too bad Lanny couldn’t join us tonight," Athena mumbled as they settled in their table.

"Don’t worry. I’ll take out some of her favorites then send them to her." Vladimir consoled her. For now, he wanted Athena to just focus on him, not Lanny.

Athena smiled and nodded, "You are so sweet, V. Though you always bicker, I know you genuinely care for your sister."

Vladimir could only smile awkwardly. He couldn’t tell her that she was wrong about it. Fortunately, the waiter arrived to get their orders.

Athena’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she scanned the menu, the array of dishes tempting her taste buds. Sitting opposite her, Vladimir watched her with adoration, his heart skipping a beat at the sight of her radiant smile.

After exchanging a few words with the waiter, they placed their orders– Carbonara, Beef Bourguignon (beef stewed in red wine with onions and mushrooms), Tempura, Vegetable Biryani, Sushi and Sashimi platters with fresh fish varieties like tuna, salmon, and yellowtail.

"Hey, V... are we going to finish all these?" Athena glanced at him with amusement and disbelief. Vladimir was the one who ordered several cuisines.

"You’ve gotten thinner. You should eat more," Vladimir responded matter of factly.

Athena: "..."

Athena pouted her lips. She didn’t know whether to feel glad or sad.

"V, I don’t think I’ve lost weight," she rebutted. "Are you trying to fatten me up?" she added, charmingly chewing on her lower lip.

Vladimir fixed his gaze upon her, his eyes piercing into hers with an intensity that seemed to delve deep into her soul.

"Your weight doesn’t matter. You’ll always be beautiful to me. And if packing on a few pounds helps keep other guys at bay, then I say bring on the extra food," Vladimir declared with a playful smirk, his words laced with affection and determination.

Athena’s jaws dropped upon hearing that. Her cheeks flushed crimson, leaving her at a loss for words. Vladimir’s candid remarks had rendered her utterly speechless, unsure of how to respond to such unexpected honesty and compliment.

Vladimir just directly said to her that if fattening her could help ward off other suitors, he didn’t mind bringing more food for her to eat.

"You haven’t ordered dessert," Vladimir reminded her, snapping her out of her stupor. "What do you like? Cheesecake, Apple pie, or Molten Lava Cake?"

Athena smiled meekly as she shook her head. "I think I’m good. No need to order desserts."

"But you love sweet," Vladimir insisted. Without waiting for her, Vladimir prompted the waiter, ordering several types of desserts.

Athena: "..."

’Is he really serious about making me fat?’
