Chapter 65: The Doctor

After finalizing the endorsement agreement with Athena, Sasha and Bella left the Goddess Elixirs Cafe. However, before parting ways, Athena discreetly handed Bella a souvenir notebook with her autograph, a token of appreciation for being her devoted fan. Additionally, she extended an invitation for Bella to join her for lunch the following weekend.

That day, Bella felt like she won the lottery. Sasha’s treatment toward her shifted noticeably, although Bella remained unaware of the specifics of Sasha’s discussion with Athena. She got worried for nothing, thinking Sasha would deliberately offend Athena so that she wouldn’t accept their offer.

She was surprised to see the changes in Sasha’s mood which softened considerably, making her more friendly and approachable. However, Sasha remained unapologetic for what she had done to Bella. She didn’t apologize to her.

"Director, the Product Launch will be held two weeks from now. When are we going to gather the four endorsers for their photoshoot and rehearsal?" Bella opened up a conversation with Sasha. They were riding in the company car.

"We can start in the next three days. The other three celebrities are arriving tomorrow. Book three suites at Jones International Hotels and Resorts. They’ll have two days to rest before the shoot!" Sasha instructed Bella on the next steps.

"Got it, Director!" Bella replied with enthusiasm. Today, her spirits were high, buoyed by Athena’s encouragement. With determination, she vowed to perform her tasks flawlessly, ensuring the success of the upcoming product launch.

"Director, if you don’t mind, can I ask you a question?" Bella fidgeted with her fingers, awaiting Sasha’s response with a hint of nervousness.

"Sure," Sasha shortly responded.

"What is your impression of Miss Athena?" Bella asked her with anticipation. She wanted to hear Sasha’s opinion.

To her surprise, Sasha let out a soft giggle. "She seems nice. I believe we’ll get along just fine."

Two factors contributed to Sasha’s change of heart towards Athena. Firstly, she discovered that Athena posed no threat to her relationship with Dominique, as Athena appeared to be more interested in Ashton. Secondly, Athena shared Sasha’s disdain for Melody Williams – as the saying goes, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Bella was elated when she heard Sasha’s response. She was glad that her director liked her idol, Athena. "Thank you, Director. I promise I will do my best to make our event a success!"

Sasha just nodded with a smile. "I’ll count on you then."

"By the way, I won’t be returning to our office," Sasha informed Bella, then turned to address their company’s driver. "Mister, please take me to Starlight Group instead."

"Okay, Ma’am!"

*Half an hour later...*

As Sasha stepped into the premises of Starlight Group, the atmosphere seemed to shift. Employees immediately recognized her and they moved with a bit more urgency, whispers following Sasha’s graceful stride. Her presence commanded attention, and it was evident that she was no ordinary visitor– after all, she was the wife of their Boss!

Approaching Dominique’s office, she was greeted by Dominique’s secretary who seemed both excited and nervous to see her. "Mrs. Smith! It’s an honor to have you here," the secretary exclaimed, offering a respectful nod.

Sasha smiled graciously in response, her demeanor composed yet welcoming. "Thank you," she replied warmly. "Is Dominique available to see me?"

The secretary nodded eagerly. "Yes, of course. He’s been expecting you. Right this way, please."

With a sense of anticipation, Sasha followed the secretary, her thoughts consumed by the upcoming appointment at the hospital. As agreed with her husband, they were scheduled for a check-up today, where they would consult their trusted doctor regarding their plans for artificial insemination.

As Sasha entered Dominique’s office, she found him engrossed in reviewing some documents. Clearing her throat to announce her presence, she approached his desk with a warm smile.

"Sasha," Dominique greeted, looking up from his work. "Are you done with your work today?"

Sasha took a deep breath, her excitement bubbling beneath the surface. "Yes. I’m done. I’ve managed to secure the contract with the masked singer, Athena. She accepted our offer of becoming our product endorser for Mystery Jewel."

Dominique’s eyes gleamed at the mention of Athena’s name. He felt a surge of satisfaction knowing that Athena had agreed to take on the endorsement project for Mystery Jewel. However, he immediately concealed his excitement in front of Sasha.

"How is she? Did she make many demands?" Dominique inquired, his tone neutral as he concealed his interest and curiosity behind a composed demeanor.

"Oh. She’s nice. She didn’t make any demands. But her manager raised her fee from our initial offer of Five Million US dollars to Ten Million US dollars for a single endorsement deal. Alfonso already approved it." Sasha informed him.

"But Dom... You need to hear this! Ashton will be thrilled when he learns about what Athena and I discussed," Sasha exclaimed, fascinated by Athena’s fondness toward Ashton so she decided to share this with Dominique.

Dominique’s expression shifted into a frown upon hearing Sasha’s statement. "What’s going on?" he inquired, his curiosity piqued.

Sasha couldn’t help but let out a soft giggle before elaborating, "I discovered something interesting. Athena appears to have a keen interest in Ashton. We talked extensively about him during our conversation. She appreciates Ashton’s support as one of her devoted fans. And she expressed her desire to get to know him better."

"You must invite Ashton during our product launch. I bet Athena will be happy to meet him there!" Sasha added, failing to notice the changes in Dominique’s mood.

Dominique tightened his grip on his ballpen upon hearing that while he tried his best to conceal his annoyance. He chose to remain quiet. He just simply nodded in response to Sasha’s remarks.

"Alright. Let’s stop talking about them." Sasha interjected, steering the discussion back to the purpose of her visit. "Are you ready to go to the hospital for our appointment?" she asked, her tone filled with anticipation.

Dominique stopped signing the documents in front of him. He realized he had forgotten about their scheduled doctor’s appointment for the day. Despite this oversight, seeing Sasha’s enthusiasm, he couldn’t bear to spoil her mood.

In the end, he set aside the remaining paperwork for the day, rising from his seat to retrieve his car keys and coat. "Yes, I’m free now. Shall we head out?" he asked, gesturing towards the door with a faint smile.

Sasha’s eyes lit up as she bobbed her head frantically. "Yes! Let’s go!" She looped her arm through Dominique’s as they stepped out of his office.

He gave his secretary some instructions before leaving the building. The two headed to the hospital. Sasha and Dominique carefully chose a private hospital not owned by Gael’s family.

Since Dominuqe’s unique condition was confidential, they chose their trusted doctor. Sasha also arranged for a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) to be prepared for the doctor and selected medical staff who would be involved in the process of their Artificial Insemination.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Dominique cooperated well with the doctor’s instructions. Sasha and Dominique underwent different physical examinations and tests. The doctor also gave Dominique several options and methods for his sperm extraction.

"Give me a few days. I’ll think about it first," Dominique coldly responded. He didn’t show any enthusiasm about this. He just only complied because of Sasha’s request.

As Dominique waited for Sasha, he remembered an important matter he had to address and investigate. As far as he could remember, Sabrina was brought to this hospital as well when she collapsed five years ago.

Without further ado, Dominique contacted his dependable subordinate, Captain Levi. This person was always his great source of information. Captain Levi of his Dark Rangers was currently in Country M, investigating and gathering information about Athena’s identity.

[ Levi, could you verify the name of the physician who conducted Sabrina’s examination at Summit Medical Center five years ago? Give me his profile asap. ]

There was a sense of urgency in his message. It was time for him to investigate and confirm whether Sabrina had indeed conceived his child or not.

Dominique fixed his gaze on his phone, waiting eagerly for Levi’s response. When the phone buzzed, he quickly tapped the screen to read Levi’s message.

[ Dr. Matthew Harris, 40 years old... ]

Dominique didn’t bother reading the rest of the information. He swiftly left the room, determined to find Dr. Harris. He wondered if he was still working in this hospital. He headed straight to the hospital’s information desk and inquired about Dr. Harris.

"Excuse me, could you please direct me to the office of Dr. Matthew Harris?"

"Just a moment, sir," the staff replied, quickly checking Dr. Matthew Harris on their records.

After a few minutes, the staff glanced at him apologetically. "I’m sorry, Sir. But Dr. Matthew Harris is no longer working here. He already resigned five years ago," she informed him.

Dominique was taken aback by the news. The doctor resigned five years ago— the same year Sabrina died. Was it just a coincidence?

"Do you know why he resigned? And where can I find him?" Dominique inquired urgently.

The staff shook her head. "I’m not sure about the reason, sir. But I can provide you with his contact details. However, I can’t guarantee if the number is still active."

Dominique immediately dialed Dr. Harris’ contact number. But to his disappointment, the number was unattended. ’Damn! I have a nagging feeling about this. This is a bit suspicious.’

With no choice left, Dominique decided to ask his other subordinate who was also in the medical field.
