Chapter 301: Can’t Deny the Truth

Miguel hurriedly went to the hospital after hearing about Kimmy passing out at the airport. He was worried about his granddaughter so he set aside his meeting just to see her.

But who would have thought he would witness his daughter, Lanny kissing a man inside the ward?

’How could she do that? And where was Kimmy?’ Miguel pondered to himself while clenching his fists.

"What is the meaning of this?" Miguel’s stern voice echoed in the ward.

Lanny and Enzo immediately broke the kiss and hastily turned in the direction of that voice. Lanny gasped in surprise upon seeing her father.

’Damn! We got caught. Why is he here? Oh gosh, my father looks so mad.’ Lanny bit her lower lip, her heart beating so hard from anxiousness.

"D-Dad... let me explain," Lanny said in her trembling voice. She distanced herself from Enzo.

However, Enzo grabbed her hand, holding her tightly. He even pulled Lanny close to him as he faced Miguel with confidence.

"Mr. Miguel Ivankov, I’m Enzo Williams, Lanny’s boyfriend–"

"Shut up! I’m not talking to you. You are just a stranger to me! Don’t waste my time!" Miguel cut him off immediately.

"Where is my granddaughter?" Miguel looked around, searching for Kimmy. But there was no sign of her inside the ward.

"Dad, I–" Lanny didn’t know what to say. Enzo suddenly introduced himself as her boyfriend. However, Miguel didn’t look interested at all.

"I don’t care if you are messing with a man here. Once we return home, you will be Dmitri’s wife," Miguel declared with finality. "Find Kimmy! We are going to leave. Now!"

Lanny tried to free herself from Enzo’s grip. She didn’t have the courage to defy Miguel Ivankov. Besides, she was still overwhelmed by Enzo’s confession so she didn’t know what to do.

She still needed time to process everything before she could decide whether to accept his proposal or not. For now, she had to obey her father.

"Let me go, Enzo," she pleaded.

Enzo pursed his lips, narrowing his eyes on Lanny. He couldn’t understand why she was so afraid of Miguel Ivankov.

"I told you. I won’t let you go. Not even today," Enzo said with conviction. Then he looked at Miguel defiantly.

"Men, throw this man out of this ward!" Miguel commanded his men who were standing behind him. "Escort Lanny and find my grandchildren!"

"Enzo, please cooperate. You can’t fight them. They will not hesitate to beat you," Lanny said, worrying about Enzo’s safety.

The three bulky men started to approach Lanny and Enzo while the others went to search for Kimmy and Aaron.

’Damn. I have no choice but to reveal who I am.’ Enzo thought to himself, tightening his grip on Lanny’s hand. He refused to let her go.

"You can’t take Lanny and Kimmy away! You might be Lanny’s father and Kimmy’s grandfather, but you don’t have the right to decide for them." Enzo bravely talked back to Miguel.

"And who are you to say that?" Miguel asked, cocking his eyebrow. He sneered at Enzo, giving him a mocking look.

Enzo glanced at Lanny meaningfully. ’I’m sorry, Lanny. I have to do this.’

"I have the right to say this because I’m Kimmy’s biological father!" Enzo declared.

The room was engulfed with a deafening silence. Lanny looked at Enzo with disbelief.

’Damn it! How could you say that to my father? Are you trying to make things complicated?’ She gritted her teeth as she glared at Enzo.

"Stop it, Enzo! You are spouting nonsense!" Lanny yanked her arm away from Enzo.

Miguel’s sarcastic laugh reverberated in the ward.

"Hahaha! You are so desperate. Do you think you can take them away by pretending to be the twin’s father? You are so pathetic. I’ve already found their father. It’s not you. The man who impregnated my daughter is Dominique Smith! The DNA test wouldn’t lie. Aaron and Dominique’s DNA matched!"

Enzo kept his composure.

"Enzo, stop this! Please..." Lanny begged him. She didn’t want Enzo to say another word. She was afraid that Miguel would find out about her deception. Aaron was not her son.

However, Enzo ignored Lanny’s plea. If revealing the truth was the only way to keep Lanny and the children in York City, he wouldn’t hesitate to tell Miguel everything.

"I never said that I’m Aaron’s father. What I said is... I’m Kimmy’s biological father. I can also prove my claim through a DNA test. I want to marry Lanny. I will raise my daughter. I’m the Chairman of a big company here in York City. I won’t let Lanny and Kimmy down. I’ll support them."

Miguel was taken aback for a moment. ’What did he just say? He is Kimmy’s father, but not Aaron’s father. What is the meaning of this?’

Miguel shifted his gaze to Lanny, seeking an answer. He also signaled the three men to stay put. He needed to clarify things before sending Enzo out of the ward.

"Explain to me why this bastard is claiming that he is Kimmy’s father! Kimmy and Aaron are twins. How could they have two different fathers? What a ridiculous joke is this?"

Lanny darted her gaze back and forth between Miguel and Enzo. She was torn between telling a truth or a lie.

’What should I do? Should I tell my father that Enzo is just lying?’

However, before Lanny could say a word, Kimmy and Aaron were brought to them.

"Grandpa!!!" Her tiny voice echoed in the ward as she ran in Miguel’s direction. "I have good news for you. I’ve found my biological father. It’s him!" Kimmy tugged her grandfather’s hand and then pointed her finger at Enzo.

"Grandpa, I’d like you to meet my father!" Kimmy added, pulling the old man toward Enzo and Lanny.

Miguel didn’t expect to hear those words from Kimmy. He wasn’t able to react. He just followed Kimmy as she led him closer to Enzo and Lanny.

Miguel gazed at Lanny dangerously. "Speak now!"

"Yes, Dad... Enzo is Kimmy’s biological father. And Aaron... has a different father." Lanny finally admitted. She couldn’t lie in front of Kimmy, denying her the truth.
