Vladimir rested his forehead on hers, his thumb gently caressing her cheeks. He was waiting for Athena’s go signal.

’Will she allow me to kiss her?’ He waited patiently, his eyes filled with anticipation.

Letting him kiss her would give him reassurance that he held a place in her heart. That’s what he badly needed right now since he was threatened by Dominique’s presence.

Meanwhile, Athena was still assessing her feelings toward Vladimir.

’Am I ready to open my heart and love someone again? Should I take the risk and give love another chance?’ Athena asked herself inwardly.

After a few seconds, she finally made up her mind. She nodded her head, smiling shyly at Vladimir.

Vladimir blinked several times. ’Wait. Did she just say yes? Is she giving me a go signal?’

"Athena? Is that your answer?" He asked her again for confirmation.

Athena bit her lower lip before bobbing her head.

"Yes. V. You can... kiss me..."

Vladimir’s heart jumped with joy upon hearing that. He was as happy as clam!

’Yes! She said yes! It means... I have a chance. She is giving me a chance!’

Without further ado, Vladimir lifted her chin while Athena closed her eyes, waiting for his lips to touch hers.

Vladimir’s lips were inching closer and closer to hers. She could feel his hot breath fanning her face. Her heart raced rapidly against her chest as she let go of everything.

Just when their lips were about to collide, a knocking sound was heard outside the door followed by someone’s voice.

"Miss Athena, the concert will start in three minutes. The team asked me to bring you backstage now for the opening number."

The most awaited kiss was interrupted once again. Vladimir cursed inwardly while clenching his jaw in disappointment. The magical moment had been ruined.

Athena could only giggle upon seeing Vladimir’s disappointed look.

"I’m sorry, V. I have to go now." She gently caressed Vladimir’s cheeks. Before she left, she tiptoed and kissed Vladimir on his right cheek.

Vladimir could only sigh in defeat, though part of him was rejoicing. Her consent already meant so much to him.

"Go and enjoy the show. I will be watching you." Vladimir encouraged her, grabbing her hand one last time.

Athena nodded with a grateful smile on her charming face. "Thank you, V. I’m so glad you are here."

"Of course. I’m your avid fan!" He smiled, letting go of her hand.

Athena headed backstage. She could hear the loud cheering of her fans. This inspired her to perform well tonight.

Unknown to her, Therese was up to something. She planned to sabotage Athena’s performance. She couldn’t wait to embarrass her in front of everyone.

Everything was set. The stage glowed under a cascade of lights, signaling that the concert had begun. The arena was filled with cheers and applause, fans supporting their idols.

Prominent men were present in the VIP seats including Dominique, Ashton, and Vladimir. Richard, Timothy, and Oliver also showed their support for Athena. Those who attended the bidding before were all present as the VIP audience.

Athena finally entered the stage for the opening number. It was a lively sing and dance performance. Her voice and body movements captivated everyone.

"Athena! My love!" Her loyal fans were cheering for her, raising and waving their glow sticks.

The Arena was filled with the fans’ screams, cheering for Athena.

Gael was also there, watching the concert. But in order not to attract Dominique’s attention, he only bought an ordinary concert ticket, not a VIP ticket. Enzo was sitting with him.

Everyone enjoyed the first performance. When Athena left, the guest performers took over the stage.

Therese was waiting for her chance to sabotage Athena. The two of them would perform together.

’I’ll show everyone the true face behind that mask. Haha, I bet she is hiding her ugly or disfigured face.’ Therese looked at Athena mockingly.

Athena sang another two songs before doing the combined performance with Therese, the phenomenal singer of York City.

After the much-awaited collaboration of the two singers, the host finally announced their next performance. It was a singing and dance performance.

Therese was the first one who entered the stage, followed by Athena. They were dancing and singing in sync. The Arena erupted into loud cheers, fans supporting their respective idols.

The audience was fully immersed in their performance when an unexpected accident disrupted the moment.

In the middle of their dance number, Therese deliberately stepped on Athena’s foot, causing her to lose her balance and stumble.

The graceful rhythm of the performance faltered as gasps of surprise echoed through the crowd.

Meanwhile, Athena clenched her fists as she didn’t expect Therese to sabotage her performance. She was annoyed and irritated. But she tried to calm herself down. Lots of people are watching them right now.

’You want to embarrass me in front of the crowd. But I won’t let you do that.’

Taking a deep breath, Athena stood up, lifting her head with confidence as she glanced at the audience.

The Arena was engulfed by a deafening silence the moment they saw Athena’s real face. The people who hadn’t seen her face, including her bashers, were starstruck by her mesmerizing beauty!

Even Therese was left speechless, her eyes widening and her jaw dropping in utter shock.
