Chapter 260: Conflict in the VIP Lounge
On the same day, Miguel returned to their home country to deal with an urgent matter related to their clan. He missed the chance to reveal Dominique’s connection to his grandchildren. That incident was favorable to Athena and Lanny.
After the lunch gathering, Lanny, Athena, and Vladimir gathered in her apartment. They let the children play in their room while the adults discussed something serious in the living room.
"Gosh, I thought our secrets would be revealed to Dominique and our father. How did you pull the tricks, Vlad? Why did Dad suddenly leave the restaurant?" Lanny looked at her brother curiously.
"I just ask my men to create trouble for our clan. You don’t have to know the full details," Vladimir replied before shifting his gaze back to Athena. "Are you alright?" he asked her worriedly.
"Yes, I’m fine now." Athena gave him a grateful smile. "Thanks, V for stopping your father from revealing the truth."
"Don’t be afraid, Athena. I’m always here if you need me." Vladimir’s tone was filled with sincerity.
"I hope this will not cause you any harm. What if your father finds out that you have something to do with the issues abroad?" Athena was also worried for Vladimir. "You Talked back and challenged him earlier. Defying him will not be favorable for both Lanny and you."
"Athena, calm down. My brother and I seldom join forces. This is the first time we worked together in harmony as brother and sister... because you are important to us."
Athena’s expression softened at Lanny’s words. "I owe you both. Promise, I will do my best to compensate you next time."
"It’s fine." Lanny gently tapped her shoulder. "By the way, we should go now. We still have appointment with Timothy for your upcoming concert. We have to drop by his company."
"Oh, right. Today is the meeting. I almost forgot about it." Athena smacked her forehead.
Lanny just giggled then she turned to her brother. "Can you watch over the kids? We will be back after two hours."
"I guess I have no choice. I will babysit the two." Vladimir didn’t complain any further.
Thirty-minutes later, at YJ Entertainment...
Athena and Lanny entered the building. Since Timothy was still in a meeting, one staff escorted them to VIP room where they could relax and wait for him.
"Feel free to make yourselves comfortable," the staff said, gesturing toward the spacious seating area. "Mr. Timothy will join you shortly."
"Thank you," Athena responded with a smile as they settled inside the luxurious VIP longue.
"Athena, I will just answer this call outside. Dmitri has something to say." Lanny informed Athena, pointing at her phone.
"Sure. Take your time, Lanny."
Lanny stepped out of the room for a moment while Athena reached for the magazine from the polished coffee table. But her cpeaceful moment was abruptly interrupted when the door to the VIP lounge swung open.
A tall woman, wearing a sophisticated designer dress, strode into the room with an air of elegance. Her heels clicked sharply against the tiled floor as she approached Athena.
The woman’s eyes immediately narrowed in disdain as they landed on Athena who was wearing a mask. "Who the hell are you?" she snapped, her voice dripping with arrogance. "And who let you into this room?"
Athena gazed up, arching her eyebrows. She was calm and composed, not letting the newcomer intimidate her. The woman’s tone was very offensive, making the tension escalate inside the room.
"The staff," Athena nonchalantly replied.
The woman folded her arms, her eyes scanning Athena from top to bottom. "This area is reserved for VIPs only," she added, her words laced with superiority. "So unless you’ve wandered in by mistake, I suggest you leave before I call security."
"Furthermore, you are a weirdo wearing a mask here. Hello! This is not a masquerade party!" she added, mocking Athena.
Athena remained composed, ignoring the woman’s sarcasm. She observed her quietly before she finally recognized the gorgeous woman in front of her. She was Therese Clinton, the phenomenal singer of York City. She was quite famous in the country. But Athena didn’t expect her to have a rude behavior.
’Hmm. So this is her true color behind the flash of the camera. This phenomenal idol known for her kind and sweet image is just a facade. She has bad attitude and very arrogant.’ Athena smirked inwardly.
Unlike Athena, Therese Clinton clearly didn’t know who she was dealing with.
"Hey, don’t ignore me!" Therese grabbed Athena’s elbow tightly.
"Let go of my hand," Athena mumbled, giving her a warning glare.
"Duh! Don’t you know who I am? This VIP lounge is mine. I want to be alone so leave while I’m still being patient. I’m so tired from my overseas trip and performance!" Therese was hellbent in sending Athena out. She didn’t want to share the spacious VIP Lounge with Athena.
When Athena remained still, Therese suddenly pulled her up. "Are you deaf? I said leave!" She already raised her voice.
Athena squinted her eyes on her before brushing her hand off her. "I don’t know why you are claiming this VIP Lounge as yours. If you want... then call the security. Let’s see who is going to be kicked out from here."
Therese sneered at her. "Fine! I call the security!"
Dialing the agency’s security number, Therese called the company’s security staff. "A suspicious woman is here in my VIP Lounge. Please get her out of here now!"
Therese had just finished calling the security when Lanny entered the room.
"Athena–" she didn’t finish her sentence as she noticed Therese’s presence. "What’s going on here?"
Therese glared at Lanny. She didn’t know why another stranger stepped into the VIP room. Only famous artists were allowed to use the VIP lounge as part of the company’s privileges for them. Therese was certain that the two people inside were not even famous. She didn’t know them at all.
"Both of you should vacant this room now. You are not even a big star. How dare you stay here, not knowing your place!" Therese sounded so pissed as she started to argue with Lanny as well.
Lanny’s face darkened when she heard those words. She was about to talk back but Athena stopped her.
"Let’s not waste our time to argue with her. Let’s go." Athena didn’t want to create a scene there.
"No. We should stay here. The staff escorted us here so we have the right to use this VIP lounge." Lanny was not the type who would back down and give up their right.
"Hmm. Fine. let’s wait for the security personnel to arrive." Therese was so confident, her aura filled with a sense of entitlement. She thought herself as one of the Queens of the YD Entertainment. "Let’s see who will be humiliated here in the end."
It did not take long before Therese’s manager and personal assistant arrived along with the security staff.
"Therese, what’s the problem here?" Her manager asked, her eyes narrowing as she assessed the situation..
"Oh, Sis," she began. "This suspicious woman trespassed into the VIP lounge. She doesn’t belong here! No VIP pass, nothing. How could she just sit here like she owns the place?"
She shot Athena another disdainful look before snapping her fingers at the security staff. "Guards! Kick them out of here. Now!"
The security staff were caught off guard by the sudden outburst. They darted their eyes back and forth between Athena and Therese.
It was clear they were hesitant whether to follow Therese’s impulsive orders or wait for confirmation from the staff who escorted Athena and Lanny to the VIP Lounge.
