Chapter 255: I Love You

Athena took a deep breath before she entered the gate of the Golden Villa.

’I’m still wondering what his motive is for saving my brother. Is Dominique up to something?’

Athena didn’t want to admit it but part of her was feeling grateful knowing that Dominique rescued Enzo. Alice protected him all these years. And at the same time, Dominique didn’t file a case against Enzo for attempted murder.

When Athena reached the door, she saw Dominique in the living room. It looked like he fell asleep while waiting for her. His eyes were closed and his back rested on the chair.

She slowly approached him. She stopped for a moment, observing Dominique’s sleeping figure. Her gaze drifted to his leg, still wrapped in a cast. Her heart clenched when the memory of the accident popped up in her mind.

She cautiously sat down beside him. That was the time Dominique moved. As if he had sensed her presence, he slowly opened his eyes. His lips automatically curled up in a gentle smile when Athena’s beautiful face greeted his sight.

"Athena," he called her out softly. "You’re here." He couldn’t hide his happiness as he looked at her.

"Yes. I’m here. You should have slept in the bedroom." She pursed her lips, displeased after seeing him in that state.

"Are you alone?" Athena also frowned when she didn’t see any sign of helpers or maids.

"I let my subordinate go home so that we can have our privacy," Dominique responded before grabbing her hands. "I miss you."

Athena sighed helplessly.

"Don’t you miss me?" Dominique pouted his lips, feeling disappointed. Athena didn’t respond to him.

Athena pinched his cheeks in response. "Of course, I’ve missed you. I’m just upset because you stayed here, instead of resting in your room. You are still recovering from your injury."

Dominique’s eyes lit up because of her concern. He chuckled softly and pulled her into a hug.

"Don’t be upset. I’m just excited to see you. I’m glad you are here." Dominique tightened his grip on her body, savoring this moment.

After a few minutes, the two of them finally broke the hug. "Let’s eat lunch together. The food is ready. My subordinate set them in the dining area."

Athena nodded in agreement. She stood up and assisted Dominique. She guided him to the dining area. The two settled down and began uncovering the food on the table. Athena was surprised to see all her favorite dishes served in front of her.

’Is this just a coincidence? What was he thinking when he asked his men to prepare these dishes? Don’t tell me he thought of my previous self, Sabrina. These are all my favorites.’ Athena didn’t know whether she should feel disappointed or glad about this.

Dominique started to slice the meat for Athena, putting them into her plate. His action pulled her out of her deep thoughts.

"Do you like them?" he asked her meaningfully.

"Hmm. I think they’re fine. They look delicious." Athena looked away, trying to keep her cool. She didn’t want Dominique to find out that her favorite food remained the same.

"Aren’t you worried that Sasha might be looking for you? Why didn’t you go home after being discharged from the hospital? She might suspect something." Athena brought up Sasha, changing the topic.

"Don’t worry. I’ll return home later this evening. But for now, I want to be with you," Dominique truthfully said. Then he gazed at her intently. "Athena, can we refrain from talking about Sasha when we are together? I just want to focus on you. Nothing else matters to me when I’m with you."

Athena was taken aback for a moment. But bitterness surged up in her heart when she remembered that Sasha got pregnant and Dominique might be the father.

’I wonder if Sasha hasn’t told Dominique about her pregnancy yet. Will she surprise him later? What will be his reaction if he hears the news?’ Athena’s mood had been ruined because of Sasha’s pregnancy.

"Hey, are you okay? Did I say something wrong?" Dominique noticed the changes in her expression.

Athena just shook her head. "Nothing. Let’s eat. We need to finish all this food. You also have to recover quickly."

Dominique obeyed her and started to eat. He had been stealing glances at her. However, Athena barely touched her food. It seemed that she already lost her appetite.

Sensing that Athena was troubled by something, Dominique also stopped eating.

"Can we go somewhere? There is something I wanna show you." Dominique tried his best to stand up as he held the table for support.

A little bit confused, Athena rose and helped Dominique to steady his footing. "Where do you want to go?"

"In the garden..."

The two of them immediately proceeded to the garden. When they reached the center which was surrounded by white and red roses, Dominique stopped Athena from her track. Then he held her hands.

"Athena... I’ve already decided. I’m going to divorce Sasha."

His main purpose for this was that he didn’t want to create more misunderstanding between Athena and him. He didn’t love Sasha at all.

Meanwhile, Athena had conflicting thoughts about this. "Are you sure? Will you be able to divorce her? What if she gets pregnant with your child?"

"There is no way I will get her pregnant. I’ve never had sex with her." Dominique made a surprising declaration to Athena.

Athena was rendered speechless for a moment. She was doubtful at his words. But Dominique looked so serious when he said his last remarks.

"What do you mean by that? She has been your wife for four years. How come you never slept with her?" She asked him in disbelief. She felt like Dominique was lying. Was he deceiving her again?

"The day Sabrina died, something changed in me," he confessed, his eyes fixated on her. "I developed a condition... I couldn’t get hard. The doctors diagnosed me with erectile dysfunction." He revealed his rare condition to Athena.

’Oh. is that the reason why Sasha wants to do an artificial insemination behind Dominique’s back? But wait.... Something doesn’t add up.’

"Dom, are you lying to me? You and I made out several times... I made you hard over and over again. Have you forgotten about it?" Athena questioned him, her tone filled with suspicion.

This time Dominique cupped her face, not breaking their eye contact. "Because you are my..."

He paused. He wanted to say the word "wife" but he refrained from uttering that word. He was afraid that Athena would stay away from him if she learned that he already knew her identity as Sabrina.

"I think... you are my cure."

Athena shook her head, still refusing to believe Dominique.

"I swear... after getting intimate with you several times, I’ve never had sex with Sasha."

A deep crease formed on her forehead. "Are you choosing me over Sasha just because you believe I am your cure?"

"No! It’s not because of that. I’m choosing you because I think I’ve fallen in love with you... for real. I love you, Athena." Dominique had confessed his feelings for her.

But Athena didn’t know how she would respond to him. She was still shocked by this sudden confession coming from Dominique.
