Chapter 248: Enzo’s Discovery

The next day...

The culprit who hit Dominique with his car was handed over to the York City Police Department. The police officers who tried to torture Enzo were both suspended from work. They were now being investigated for accepting bribes.

Enzo stayed in their apartment today because of his day off so Alice decided to talk to Enzo regarding Dominique’s job offer.

"Have you heard? The Williams Family might be involved in this case. Do you think it’s best to accept Dominique’s job offer in the Williams Company? They want to get rid of you." Alice showed a hint of concern. But she was worried more about Dominique’s safety.

Enzo glanced at her in puzzlement. He was surprised by Alice’s suggestion. He thought Alice would even ask him to go back to Fortuna Island and leave York City because of what happened.

"Returning to Fortuna Grande is the best choice, don’t you think?" Enzo asked her, assessing her expression.

"I thought you wanted to stay here to regain your memories. Did you change your mind now?"

Alice looked like she was against the idea of returning to Fortuna Grande. When Dominique got into an accident, she realized that staying in York City would be convenient for her to protect Dominique.

Meanwhile, Enzo stayed silent for a moment.

"You are right. I should not run anymore. I will accept Dominique’s job offer. I will prove to them that I’m not scared of their evil schemes."

Enzo clenched his fists. He wanted to do this for his sister’s sake. He needed to get the company’s management right to reclaim their company. He could do this with the help of Dominique.

"Okay. I’ll support you with your decision." Alice patted Enzo’s shoulder. "By the way, I have to go. I’ll be late for work."

After talking to Enzo, Alice left their apartment. However, Enzo noticed that Alice forgot to bring the packed lunch that he prepared for her.

"Oh, she forgot her lunch." Enzo immediately grabbed the paper bag as he dashed out of the apartment to chase after Alice. Not able to catch her, Enzo followed the taxi.

While he was on the road, he noticed that Alice was not heading to the hospital where she was currently working.

’Huh? Where is she going?’ Enzo mused to himself as he kept checking the direction.

It turned out Alice had decided to visit Dominique secretly.

Upon arriving at the hospital lobby, Alice met Levi, Dominique’s right-hand man.

"You’ve finally returned!" Alice strode toward Levi, greeting him.

Levi nodded. "Yes. I went here directly to check on our Boss. How is he?"

"I haven’t seen him yet but they said he is recovering well. Let’s go and meet him. His wife has gone to work today so he is alone." Alice made sure that Sasha was not around.

"Alright. I think our Boss has another command for us." Levi guided Alice to the elevator without knowing that Enzo had seen them.

Out of curiosity, Enzo followed the two. This was the first time he saw Levi. He didn’t know what was Alice’s connection with that handsome guy.

’Why is Alice here? And who is that guy? They look very close to each other.’ Enzo’s heart constricted when he saw the two. He felt a little bit jealous.

It did not take long before Levi and Alice reached Dominique’s VIP ward. Enzo was surprised when he witnessed the two entering Dominique’s room.

’Did Alice come here to visit Dominique? Do they know each other?’ Enzo mumbled to himself.

He didn’t know what to feel right now. For some unknown reason, he started to question Alice’s actions lately.

’Should I continue this or not? Why do I feel like I’m going to discover something I’m not ready for.’ Enzo hesitated for a moment. He took a deep breath, bracing himself for what was going to happen next.

Meanwhile, inside the room, Levi and Alice were standing side by side in front of Dominique.

"Boss, how are you? Do you feel better now?" Levi was the one who spoke among the three.

"Yes. I’m feeling better now." Dominique signaled the two to sit down. "I will be discharged today," he added.

"Boss, tell us your order. Do you want me to deal with the bastard who harmed you? I can make that person confess the real mastermind." Levi volunteered to take action.

"I can also assist Levi in doing that." Alice butted in.

Dominique darted his gaze back and forth between Alice and Levi.

"I have a different command for both of you. I will let Clint investigate this."

Alice and Levi were both disappointed when they heard that. They were so eager to punish the person who targeted their Boss.

"Alice, you should focus on protecting Enzo. I’m not their only target. They are causing trouble for Enzo. It’s hard for him since he hasn’t recovered his memory yet. So just keep on safeguarding him against the enemy." Dominique gave his instructions to Alice.

"Copy, Boss." Alice looked down. She wanted to do anything for Dominique but all her tasks were only focused on safeguarding Enzo.

"Levi, as for your task... I want you to monitor Alfonso Williams’ movement. I am very suspicious of him. He is making a move behind my back. He is also trying to get the company back from me." Dominique also noticed that Alfonso had been conducting a secret meeting with other stockholders lately.

"Okay, Boss. I will keep my eyes on him." Levi enthusiastically responded. He was always excited to do a job for Dominique.

"Boss, I heard that your father is coming to see you. Can we see him as well? I also received a message from Mr. Ford. He is flying here in York City this week." Levi mentioned about Dominique’s foster father.

Alice was taken aback for a moment. The mysterious Mr. Ford was finally visiting their Boss after so many years of being apart.

Dominique smiled at the mention of Mr. Ford, his foster father. "Yes. Help me welcome him. I’m gonna need your assistance since I’m still injured."

"Just leave this to us! We are going to assist you!" Levi declared confidently.

As the three continued to converse, Enzo finally discovered that Alice was connected to Dominique.

’Alice... she is working for Dominique. Am I being deceived for so long? Are they playing with me?’ Enzo was shaken by this revelation.
