"Is this part of your revenge?"

Vladimir gazed down, unable to look at Athena. He knew that he didn’t have the right to get mad or jealous. Athena could date any man she wanted.

Meanwhile, Athena just stayed silent, observing Vladimir. She didn’t know what to say to console him.

’He is acting like this because of Ashton. How much more if he finds out I’m interacting with Dominique?’ Athena mused to herself.

She felt guilty and sorry for Vladimir. This was one of the reasons why she was hesitant to accept his feelings.

’I’m not deserving of him. I will only cause him some shame. And I don’t think he will be able to accept me once he learns the truth. But I have to do these indecent things for the sake of my revenge.’ Athena took a deep sigh.

"Yes, V. You are right. I’m doing this because of my revenge. I don’t have feelings for Ashton. I’m just using him," she explained.

"Am I not good enough, Athena? Can’t you just rely on me? Can’t you just use me?" There was a hint of sadness in his voice.

"I don’t want you to do things that are against your will. How can I protect you if you won’t allow me to get involved?"

Vladimir couldn’t bear to see her with another man, even if it was just an act.

Athena held his hands, squeezing them gently to comfort him.

"V... This is one of the reasons why... I don’t want you to wait for me... After my revenge, I will never be the same Athena that you know."

When she said those words, her intimate moment with Dominique in his bathroom flashed in her mind.

She was using her body as bait for Dominique. She was allowing another guy to kiss and touch every sensitive part of her body.

’As much as I want to deny it... my body is still responding to Dominique’s touch and kisses. Instead of disgust and hate, he could still awaken my burning desire. A woman as dirty as me doesn’t deserve a man like Vladimir. He is almost perfect in my eyes.’

Athena was still lost in her thoughts when suddenly, Vladimir pulled her into a tight hug.

"No. Athena. Please don’t say that. No matter what you say, it will never change my mind. My feelings for you are absolute. You’re the only woman I want. I’ll never give up on you... until you choose me." Vladimir’s words were filled with determination.

"I’m sorry... V. I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings." Athena apologized, hugging him back.

When he heard Athena’s sincere apology, all the unhappiness he felt earlier had disappeared instantly. He just tightened his grip on her body, not letting her go.

"I should be the one apologizing to you. I know I don’t have the right to control your actions... it’s just that... I feel jealous, desperate, and useless. I want to do something for you, Athena. Please let me do it. Allow me to do your revenge." Vladimir asked her permission once again.

But Athena was resolute with her decision. "No, V. Don’t do anything. I can handle this."

Vladimir could only stay quiet.

But little did she know, Vladimir already mobilized Luna. He could no longer stay put. He was afraid that Athena’s plan might backfire on her in the end.

’I better clean the mess now for Athena’s sake,’ Vladimir thought to himself. ’If she wants her ex-husband’s company, I will give it to her. If she wants to torture those traitors, I can be her weapon.’ Vladimir’s decision was firm.

It did not take long before the two of them broke the hug. Athena could still feel the tension between them.

"Do you want to eat something?" Athena broke the silence, changing the topic.

"You." Vladimir suddenly blurted out, making Athena blush.

’Huh? He wants to eat me?’ Athena blinked several times.

Vladimir noticed the changes in Athena’s expression that’s why he realized his mistake.

"I mean... how about you? Do you want to eat something?" Vladimir corrected her wild imagination.

Athena’s face reddened further when she heard that. It looked like she was the only one thinking about some naughty stuff. Vladimir didn’t insinuate something of eating her in an intimate way.

She chewed on her lower lip and looked away, hiding her embarrassment.

"Yes. I want to eat some ice cream," she replied.

"Alright. Just wait here. I’ll get you one." Vladimir hurriedly left to get some ice cream for Athena.

She just smiled while watching her back. She was glad that Vladimir was back to his usual self. He was no longer upset.

"I guess communication is the key," she murmured to herself.

As long as she opened up to him, sharing her thoughts, Vladimir would always try to understand her. Though he was naturally impatient, he could change his impatient behavior when it came to her. Athena was always the only exception.

Athena had been waiting for Vladimir to return when she received a message from Dominique.

[ Come to me. I want to see you right now. Meet me at the restaurant near my company’s building. Don’t make me wait. ]

Athena frowned when she read Dominique’s message. She could sense that Dominique was also in a foul mood. He was urgently requesting her presence today.

’Argh! Here we go again. I have to put up with this shameless liar. I have no choice but to comply.’

She put her cellphone inside her bag and stood up. "Time to meet this jerk. I hope he won’t feed my brother with many more lies. I have to know what he is up to."

"Athena, where are you going? Leaving already?" Vladimir returned holding two ice creams in large cones.

Athena nodded, feeling apologetic. "V, I’m sorry. I have to go. There is something urgent I have to deal with."

"Alright. Have this before you leave." Vladimir handed her the ice cream.

"Thank you," Athena thanked him after receiving the ice cream. She said goodbye once again before she left.

’Why is she in a hurry? What happened?’ Vladimir pondered to himself. "Should I follow her or not?"

After contemplating for a while, Vladimir chose his instinct.
