"Grandpa, I overheard your conversation with our Mom yesterday. Uncle Dmitri is going to visit Country Z, can I tag along with him?" Aaron asked, tugging Miguel’s sleeve.

Miguel brought Aaron and Kimmy to De Luca Mansion to meet Dmitri. The young little girl was playing with Dmitri right now while little Aaron approached his grandpa.

"But you have class, my dear."

Miguel crouched down to look at him at his eye-level.

"I miss Mommy and Aunt Athena. Can I stay there for five days, Grandpa? Please..."

The middle-aged man scratched his face. He couldn’t refuse Aaron’s request because he doted on his grandson.

"Hmm, I can’t allow you to tag along with your Uncle Dmitri. He has something important to do in York City. It’s business-related."

Aaron crumpled his face when he heard that. He was a bit disappointed. However, Miguel spoke again to console him.

"Alright. I will accompany you to Country Z. We will go there together."

Aaron hastily gazed up with his twinkling eyes. He was grateful to his grandpa. He started jumping, hugging him.

"Thank you, Grandpa! You’re the best."

Miguel smiled, stroking his head. "Of course. As long as I can make my little boy happy."

"But can you promise me one thing? Don’t tell your mother about our visit. We will surprise them."

Aaron bobbed his head frantically. "Okay, Grandpa. I promise."

Aaron raised his pinky finger to make a pinky swear with Miguel.

"Grandpa! Bro!"

The two were interrupted when Kimmy’s voice echoed inside the mansion. They turned in her direction only to see Kimmy standing next to Dmitri.

Dmitri De Luca was the epitome of tall, dark, and handsome. He was oozing with sex appeal. He was six feet in height with black hair and brown eyes. He had a muscular build like a model in a men’s magazine.

"My little princess... did you enjoy your bonding with your Uncle Dmitri?" Miguel gestured for Kimmy to come over.

Kimmy ran in his direction while nodding her head.

"Yes, Grandpa! I have fun with Uncle Dmitri. He taught me how to ride a bike!"

Then she turned to Aaron. "Where have you been, Bro? Uncle Dmitri and I have been searching for you. You suddenly disappeared."

"I left to see Grandpa. I made a request from him." Aaron explained to Kimmy.

"I’m going to Country Z with Grandpa. Do you wanna come with us?" he added, inviting Kimmy.

Kimmy’s eyes lit up with excitement upon hearing that. "Of course! I wanna come. I miss my prince charming, Gael!"

Miguel furrowed his eyebrows upon hearing that.

"Gael? Who is he? You are still a kid, Kimmy! You are not allowed to have a crush or a boyfriend until you reach the age of twenty!"

Miguel sounded very jealous and protective.

Kimmy blinked, amused. "Grandpa, seriously? It’s totally normal to have a crush or be infatuated with someone, no matter your age," she lectured him.

"Are you lecturing me young one?" Miguel lifted an eyebrow, pretending to be angry.

Kimmy just let out a soft giggle before hugging her grandpa to appease him.

"I love you, Grandpa."

After saying that, Kimmy pulled Aaron’s hand as she dragged him away to flee.

Miguel and Dmitri could only watch the two kids, running away from them.

"So, what’s your expression of the kids?" Miguel asked Dmitri expectantly.

Dmitri put on a smile and replied, "The twins are so smart and cute. I love their confidence and attitude. Ivankov’s blood is indeed running in their veins."

Miguel was satisfied with his response. He was so proud of the twins.

"Are you willing to become their father?"

Miguel didn’t beat around the bush.

Dmitri didn’t want to offend the Patriarch of the Ivankov Clan so he responded truthfully to his question.

"I don’t mind becoming a stepdad for those two little kiddos. The house will be full of fun because of them. But..." Dmitri paused for a moment.

"But?" Miguel urged him to continue.

"But it will depend on their mother... if she will allow me to become their stepfather. I have to meet your daughter first and gain her approval."

"Honestly, I’m not against our arranged marriage. It’s just that... I want to get to know her more. I heard a lot of rumors about Lanny. I became more interested in knowing her."

Dmitri wasn’t closing his heart to fall in love with Lanny. Marrying a member of the Ivankov Clan was his top priority and his obligation as the eldest son of the De Luca Clan.

The De Luca and the Ivankov would become more powerful and would dominate the underground world if their families would unite in marriage.

"My only concern is that what if your daughter is still in love with the father of the twins? Is she still searching for him?"

Miguel’s expression had become serious when he heard that. He rubbed his chin, thinking about it.

"You don’t have to worry about it. Lanny will obey me over her heart. Whether she likes it or not, she will marry you," Miguel reassured him.

Dmitri just nodded in understanding.

"Alright. I will just make her fall for me." He chuckled, lightening the mood.

"I like your confidence, Dmitri. That’s why I really want you to become my son-in-law. It’s not only because you are from De Luca Clan, but because you are a great man." Miguel gently patted his shoulder.

"Thank you, Mr. Ivankov. I am flattered by your compliment." He politely nodded and smiled.

"By the way, are you really going to visit Country Z? Why?"

Dmitri became curious. It was so unlikely for Miguel Ivankov to leave his turf without an important reason.

"I will do a monitoring in York City. Vladimir is leading our branch there. I want to check their operations. Aside from that, I would like to see my other son. It’s been so long since the last time I saw him." Miguel smiled faintly.

Dmitri frowned in confusion. "Your other son? You have another son aside from Vladimir?!"

Miguel glanced at him meaningfully.

"Yes. I have my adopted son..." His eyes gleamed with joy as he thought about his adopted son.

Dmitri had become curious because no one from the underground world had mentioned Miguel’s adoptive son.

’Hmm. Interesting. Who is he? A mysterious guy.’ Dmitri thought to himself.

"I’m surprised. Even my father didn’t know about this adopted son of yours."

Miguel smirked at him. "Well. I’m telling you this because you might cross paths with him in Country Z. And besides, you are going to become my son... son-in-law."

"May I know who he is?" Dmitri could no longer hold his curiosity.

Miguel chuckled and shook his head. "No. I can’t tell you for now."

"Do Vladimir and Lanny know about him?" Dmitri asked him again.

"No. They didn’t. But I will introduce him to them at the right moment. He is my Ace."

"How did you meet him?" Dmitri looked very interested in Miguel’s adopted son.

"I rescued him once. That’s all I can say for now." Miguel refused to disclose more information about his adopted son.

Dmitri didn’t know why but he could feel that Miguel Ivankov was more fond of his adopted son than his biological children. There was a gleam in his eyes whenever he would talk about him.

"I wish to meet him soon! And I hope I can get along well with him." Dmitri looked forward to meeting Miguel’s other son.

Meanwhile, Aaron and Kimmy arrived at the playground.

"Bro, is it true? We are going back to Country Z?" She asked him excitedly.

"Yes. But we should keep this from our mother and Uncle Vlad. Grandpa wants to surprise them." Aaron warned Kimmy.

Kimmy immediately zipped her mouth and gave him an ’Okay’ sign.

"Are you excited to go back?" Kimmy gazed at him with her innocent eyes.

Aaron nodded. "Yes. I missed Mom and Aunt Athena. I also want to see my friend, Mr. Smith. He promised that he would teach me how to play the guitar once I returned. I can’t wait to see him again."

Kimmy blinked in puzzlement. "The guy you met in the mall? I thought Aunt Athena warned you not to contact that guy again. She asked you to avoid him, right?"

The excitement in Aaron’s eyes disappeared instantly when he heard that.

"Yes. Aunt Athena told me to avoid him, that’s why I never contacted him. I still have his phone number with me."

"Oh. So why are you planning to meet him again?"

Kimmy lifted her eyebrow, folding her small arms over her chest.

Aaron fell silent for a moment.

"I don’t know. I just want to see him again. I feel at ease in his presence. I love listening to his music. I feel like we are connected through music. I don’t think he is a bad guy," Aaron admitted.

"Hmm. Are you going to disobey Aunt Athena? If you do... this will be the first time you will go against her." Kimmy assessed Aaron.

Aaron just put on a pitiful face. "Sigh. I don’t know... How I wish Aunt Athena would also like him."
