Chapter 112: Secret Affair

Chapter 112: Secret Affair

’My sister is still alive...’

Enzo’s mind could only absorb her last statement. Among her revelations, knowing Sabrina was still alive was the most important thing to him.

Though he couldn’t remember his memories with his sister, his heart rejoiced when he heard that.

"My sister is still alive... I’m not alone. I still have her. Where is she right now, Lanny? I want to see her. How is she doing?" Enzo bombarded Lanny with so many questions regarding Sabrina. However, Lanny couldn’t disclose Sabrina’s whereabouts for now.

"Yes. She is alive. But don’t worry, Sabrina is in good hands. You have to regain your memory first before you can see her." Lanny gave him this condition to motivate him to regain his lost memories.

Enzo could only bob his head, determination could be seen in his eyes. "I will... I have to reunite with my sister."

"Our own relatives betrayed us... and my brother-in-law hurt my sister. I’m glad that her current whereabouts are hidden from them. I won’t let them hurt my sister again. I don’t care about the company. I just want her to live happily and peacefully."

To make him feel at ease, Lanny told him that Sabrina was currently living in Country M, trying to move forward from her painful past... mending her broken heart.

"How about my case? Why did Melody accuse of being a murderer?" Enzo asked her with puzzlement. He didn’t know the reason for that.

Meanwhile, Lanny took a deep breath before revealing the story behind it. "Five years ago, after sending Sabrina abroad, you faced Dominique Smith and your Uncle who were celebrating their success."

"You barged into the Williams Mansion and shot Dominique. You tried to kill him to punish him for what he did to your sister. But you failed to kill him. You escaped. While fleeing, that must be the time you got into an accident and you lost your memory."

Enzo fell silent when he heard that. "Then who helped my sister? Did she search for me?"

Lanny smiled at him and nodded, "Yes. She is so worried about you. That’s why she sent me here to find you. I helped her settle down abroad. Don’t worry about her. For now, we need to keep this from the Williams Family and her ex-husband. They shouldn’t know that your sister is alive."

"Yes. I won’t let them," Enzo swore to Lanny. "But I can’t understand. Why didn’t Dominique press charges against me?"

Lanny shook her head, also clueless about Dominique’s motive. "Maybe he somehow felt guilty... since you already lost your family, including your sister."

"I have to see him!" Enzo clenched his fists. After hearing the story in the past, his resentment toward Dominique resurfaced.

"Okay. I won’t stop you from confronting Dominique. But what can you say to him? You can’t remember anything. You lost your memory. Are you going to let them know your weakness?"

Enzo could only sigh in defeat. Lanny was right. It was disadvantageous for him since he couldn’t remember anything. He was grateful that Lanny shared this information with him. At least, he knew whom to trust. His relatives and former brother-in-law were his enemies.

"I will lie low and will try to avoid them." He promised her.

Lanny felt glad upon hearing his statement. Fortunately, Enzo was reasonable. He wasn’t stubborn, unlike her brother.

"Don’t break your promise. If you do better, I will let you contact Sabrina soon. For now, we have to keep this a secret for her safety, including yours. We didn’t know who caused your accident five years ago. It might be an order from Dominique or one of the Williams Family." Lanny shared her speculation with him.

Enzo nodded in understanding. "Thank you, Lanny. I’m so glad that I have a friend like you." He pulled her into a hug after saying that.

Lanny was caught off guard by that sudden hug. Her heart skipped a beat at the feeling of his warmth. From a distance, Athena smiled at her teasingly. They met each other’s gaze and she was happy to see Lanny and Enzo together.

Lanny immediately pushed Enzo, breaking the hug. She was a bit embarrassed since Vladimir’s employees could also see them from a distance. To avoid issues, she had to distance herself from Enzo as she didn’t want other employees to think there was special treatment when it came to Enzo.

But little did she know, Vladimir had already briefed his employees to treat Enzo better. He even asked them not to give Enzo a heavy workload in the Cafe. He needed to take good care of Athena’s brother.

"Enzo, I think we should eat lunch together with Athena." Lanny changed the topic.

"Does Athena know about my past and my sister’s story?" Enzo asked Lanny curiously. He wondered if Athena was also Sabrina’s close friend.

"Yes. She knows everything," Lanny simply replied.

Enzo smiled faintly, feeling grateful. "I don’t know what I would do without the support from both of you. Thank you so much, Lanny. I owe you and Athena a lot. I’ll promise to return the favor for everything you’ve done for me and my sister."

Lanny just fell silent. In the back of her mind, she was thinking about the deal she had with Enzo. Until now, he hadn’t fulfilled it yet– giving her a son.

"Enzo, five years ago... you made a promise to me... in exchange for my help." Lanny opened it up to him.

Enzo’s eyebrows furrowed into a deep frown. "I’m sorry. I’ve forgotten about me. Can you tell me what is it? I want to know. I still want to fulfill it..."

But Lanny promptly shook her head, refusing to disclose it. "I can’t. I want you to remember it yourself." She patted his shoulder while eyeing him meaningfully. "You must remember it if you truly want to fulfill it."

Enzo exhaled deeply. He was dying to know but Lanny was tight-lipped about it. ’Sigh. I wonder if Athena knows about it. Should I ask her?’

Enzo was still trying to figure it out when Lanny finally stood up. "Come. Let’s join Athena."

With that, Lanny ended their discussion. Enzo had mixed emotions right now. He had a lot of things running in his mind. But one thing was for sure– he wanted to regain his memory at all costs.

"Lanny..." Enzo grabbed her elbow, stopping her for a moment. "Please help me remember everything. I can only rely on you and Athena..." he pleaded.

Lanny gave him a meaningful smile. "Of course. I will help you."

*1:00 pm at Goddess Elixirs Cafe...*

Timothy arrived on time, excited to meet Athena.

"Please come in, sir," Enzo welcomed him.

"Reservation of Miss Lanny and Athena," Timothy informed Enzo.

"This way, sir. Follow me." Enzo guided Timothy to the private booth on the second floor where Athena was waiting for him.

His eyes sparkled with excitement when he saw a glimpse of Athena’s figure sitting inside the booth. As usual, she was still wearing her laced mask to conceal the upper part of her face.

"Miss Athena," Timothy murmured, his voice soft as he extended his right hand towards her. Gently, he clasped her hand and brought it to his face, pressing a tender kiss to the back of her palm.

Before Timothy’s arrival, Lanny had already warned Athena about Timothy’s reputation with women. He was known as a playboy who loved fooling around with different beautiful women. He hated commitment and he didn’t have a serious relationship with women. It was always casual flirting and fling.

Though she didn’t avoid his kiss, Athena retreated her hand right away.

"Mr. Wilson, please sit down." Athena offered him the opposite chair.

With a wide smile, Timothy sat down in front of her, his eyes still admiring her allure.

"It’s my pleasure to finally meet you like this in private. Where is Miss Lanny?" Timothy asked her. It was unusual for Athena to talk to him without her manager.

’Why do I feel so lucky today? I am having a conversation with Athena alone.’ Timothy couldn’t contain his joy. He was smiling broadly.

"She’s busy. I’m here to negotiate with you directly." Athena informed him. Little did he know, Lanny was also there, watching them through the CCTV camera.

Timothy felt glad. He immediately talked about his offer– the great amount he could offer her and the projects for her album. He expressed his interest in signing her as an exclusive artist of his company. He promised her that he would help her do more concerts and release more songs and albums.

"Miss Athena, I assure you. You won’t regret signing with my company. I will take good care of you. I will support your career here in York City. Just tell me your demands, and I will do my best to fulfill them."

"Thank you, Mr. Wilson. I love your offers. But there is something I am more curious about. If you answer me truthfully, I might reconsider accepting your offer."

Timothy blinked in puzzlement. "Okay. What is it, Miss Athena?"

Athena flashed her charming smile before she continued, "Do you have a secret affair with Sasha Smith?"

Timothy: "..."
