Chapter 103: What are these? (5)

As soon as they heard this voice, they couldn’t stop the chill that ran down their spines.

That was because this was a voice that was cold to the point where it could be considered freezing. But that wasn’t the only thing that was special about this voice.

It seemed like this voice was completely devoid of any emotions, as if it didn’t come from something that was human.

Even though the words that it said really seemed like it was teasing them.

When they looked up, they found that there was another dark cloaked figure that was standing at the bar doors of their cell. Only they didn’t feel the same thing that they felt from the previous dark cloaked figure.

As soon as they saw this dark cloaked figure, all of them couldn’t help giving a gulp and taking another step back.

It wasn’t as if there was anything shocking about the dark cloaked figure itself, they were wearing a very normal black cloak.

It was just that there was something intangible that seemed to be around this person.

It was almost as if there was this visible aura that was coming from them that made them think of...

"We’re going to die."

After a long moment of silence, the leader of the group asked, "Who are you? Why did you capture us?"

"Ha, ha, ha, I don’t think you’re in any position to ask questions." The dark cloaked figure said while laughing.

The laughter that came out was like nails grating on a chalkboard that irritated their ears when they heard it. It really was a sound that didn’t seem to belong to this world...

"Now, I think that you can guess what I am based on what is in front of you." The dark cloaked figure said after it suddenly stopped laughing.

All of the bandits couldn’t help knitting their brows as they looked at the pieces of that person on the floor that were still moving.

"A necromancer? But what is a necromancer doing so far out from the center of the wilderness?" The leader asked with a sharp breath.

The dark cloaked figure suddenly started to clap when it heard this.

When it clapped, they could see the hands that were nothing more than bones that came out of the dark cloaked.

"You’re not just any necromancer, you’re actually a lich!" The leader said in a shocked voice.

When he said this, the rest of his group looked at him with shock and disbelief as if they couldn’t understand what he had just said.

But the dark cloaked figure gave another clap before saying, "Not bad, not bad, it seems like you know quite a bit. It’s no wonder you were sent here as the leader of this scouting group."

A grim look appeared on the face of the leader when he heard this.

Everything that this lich said...it was clear that it knew exactly who they were and it had been targeting them the entire time.

But the one thing that the leader couldn’t understand was why?

Why did this lich seem to have a grudge against them like this?

"I won’t say much else since there’s no point. Tell me everything that you know about your boss and I’ll give you a painless death. If not, I’ll just pull it out of you the hard way."

"What? Why do you want to know about our boss? What grudge do you have against our Iron Fist Gang?"

Though the leader said this, his eyes kept darting around the room as if he was looking for anything that he could to escape this place with.

The others in his group also seemed to be doing the same as they realized the danger that they were in.

It was just that they didn’t get the chance to do anything.

"I don’t think that you understand the situation that you’re in. You’re not allowed to ask questions, you’re not allowed to do anything. The only thing that you’re allowed to do is answer the questions that I have for you. That will decide on whether I make this painful or not for you."

A chill ran down their spine when they heard this, but then fear really filled them when they saw the skeletal hands come out of the ground.

Even if they wanted to run, there was no place for them to go.

"Just who are you?" The leader asked in a trembling voice.

Only there was no answer that followed.

...

When it was over, the door opened and I walked in.

Taking the cloak off my head, I revealed the skull that was my face.

"Tch, they really should have just given up, it would have saved me from creating this mess."

Shaking my head, I reached my hand down towards the ripped apart bodies on the ground and started gathering these blue wisps in my skeletal hand. After a while, there was this blue ball of light that was condensed from those blue wisps.

I brought this up and looked closely into it, seeing the memories of these people.

"It was a waste of time, they were nothing more than low level thugs that didn’t know much." I said with a sigh after I finished looking through these memories.

With another wave of my hand, it didn’t take long for those torn apart pieces of their corpses to come together to form zombies just like the one that I had created to mess with them.

After I finished creating these zombies, I said, "Clean this place up."

Without even waiting to see if they would do it or not, I walked out of the room.

"It’s all that idiot barbarian’s fault. If he didn’t rush things, then I wouldn’t have had to come all the way out here."

Then after a pause, I added, "Though I have to admit that this place really is a good place for my experiments and a great place to get materials."

The one that was speaking was Faust, the necromancer lich.
