Chapter Fifty-Three – Tame Him

The latest was a masterpiece. It totally took more than eighty percent of the human nature of a werewolf, making them tap deeper into their primal nature.

Asher spun around, cackling. "Ah, it’s such a shame that I have no werewolf to try this on, but I definitely love the turn of events."

He carefully placed the drug on a rack, and stared at it affectionately. "Hmm, the victim could end up killing other werewolves. This is really good."

If he could infect a really powerful werewolf, then that werewolf would help him kill a lot more. It was an attractive drug in many ways, suitable for those werewolves who caught and experimented on Lycans in the past.

His mind went back to his last memory of his mother. A young brown haired lady, looking down at him with fear.

"If the werewolves catch you, the King’s heir, they’d drug you and turn you to their dog." She forced a smile. "So your father and I have decided, I’d go for you. We don’t need to fight, and I don’t want them drugging my baby."

Asher’s claws dug into his palm as he clenched his fists. How dare those lowly creatures try to drug him? Then further drugged his mother, a queen to the Lycans?

And his father accepted all that because he didn’t want more casualties in the pack. Asher tried not to hate father and rather, diverted the hatred to the werewolves.

His eyes darkened on the other drugs he had created. "That specie will always be my dog. That’s all their kind can ever amount to."

The door to his lab was knocked on harshly. It made Slime, who was asleep, jolt but he went back to sleep.

"Nene, keep it down! Last I checked, I own this mountain!" Asher raised his voice, immediately knowing who it was.

Nene slapped the door opened. "Okay then, Mr. Mountain owner, why is there blood trailing from the foot of the mountain to your lab...? Slime!" she rushed to him.

Asher frowned, walking out of the lab to check what she said. There was indeed a trail of blood from his lab, down to the stairs. "It’s almost dried though."

He snapped his head at Slime. Could it be his blood? He rushed to him, pushing Nene away. "Slime? Slime..."

There were cuts and deep wounds on his back. It must’ve been the attack by the Lycan Alpha.

The Prince sighed. Slime probably didn’t realize how much damage he sustained after taking the experimented wolfsbane, because it numbed his pain.

Nene frowned. "You used your creepy experiments on him, didn’t you? Shouldn’t it only be on werewolves..."

"He wanted it. And no werewolf would have survived that one." Asher interrupted her, while searching his box for an antidote. He tried injecting it on him but Nene held him.

"Are you sure it’d work? What if it’s..."

She staggered, falling back, as Asher slapped her across the face. "If it doesn’t work then he dies." He replied coldly.

Nene’s breathing became heavy. "But, that’s not fair..!"

Slime might be an illegitimate son and abandoned by his father, the Delta, but he still had royal blood. She couldn’t stand him being treated like an animal.

But then, Asher began cackling. "You underestimate me. Everything I create have 75% accuracy so it would work."

Was that supposed to console her? Nene looked away as he injected it into Slime. What’s that drug supposed to do? To her, everything the Prince made killed it’s victim.

"Ah, all done." Asher moved away from Slime. Nene came closer to inspect the wounds. They still looked the same. She glared at Asher. "The wounds are still there..."

"Well, these things have a gradual process, moron. It won’t magically heal. But, look again."

Her eyes went back to it. There were slowly reducing. It was like Slime’s healing had quickened. "You enhanced his healing, didn’t you?"

"Not me. The drug did." Asher smirked. "You can actually be a good lab help if you understood that at first glance."

Nene frowned at the compliment. "No, thank you."

She gently carried Slime. "I’d keep him in one of the rooms till he had recovered his stamina. I actually came to tell you, Delta Zara is here to see you. It seems important."

Asher’s mood dropped. That bitch again?

The last time she came, she killed the last werewolf he was trying a drug on. He hadn’t even notice till she was gone then he saw that the werewolf stopped moving.

She always tried to shorten the pain of his experiments, which was contrary to his desires. He wanted them to feel every pain he dished out till the bodies collapsed under it.

"Prince Asher."

He was snapped out of his thought, and found himself at the entrance of his lab. He sighed. "Zara."

"I’ve been waiting here for you...."

He appeared close to her face. "You wanted to see me." There was only a hair’s length between them. Seeing their lips close, Zara raised a paper to separate them. "You caused trouble again."

Asher snatched the paper and backed away to read it. It wasn’t professionally handwritten so it must not be an official letter, yet he saw the stamp. Black Claws Pack.

"Eh? Is this some kind of love letter?" he looked around the letter to see something else but there was nothing. His shoulders slumped.

"My first letter from that Alpha and he’s telling me not to send Lycans to take werewolves from his pack." He said quickly, like he was reporting to Zara.

She shut her eyes tiredly, before opening them. At the stage she was in life, she only needed wealth and peace, not to be running after a psychopathic teenage Prince.

"That was actually written by his younger brother but it’s not the point. Why did you send warriors to attack a pack under our own kingdom?"

"I didn’t." Asher replied.

Zara frowned, knowing the kind of games he liked to play. "Didn’t what? Because someone attacked their Pack."

"Well, I didn’t send warriors there. That’d be like taking over the pack which is just plain rude. I sent Slime."

She felt like hitting him. "You’d stop doing that then." Zara warned. "The Alpha is injured but they’re letting it go."

Asher leaned on the wall, a serious expression came to his face. "Slime got badly beaten up too. I won’t let it go."
