Chapter Four Hundred-Fourteen – Revealed

Bebe rushed out of the room while Thales was lost in his thoughts. She bumped into someone just outside and gasped. Jessika looked up at her with redness in her eyes. Thales floated out of the room with a small smirk. "You’ve been listening, haven’t you?" Bebe turned to him. Had she? Then why didn’t he say anything? Bebe’s hands flew to her mouth.

Did she also hear that the Princess’s mate was Alpha Stefan? Before she could ask, Jessika picked her up and flung her to her bed.

Bebe panicked and was about begging when Jessika pounced in her, pulling her ears and cheeks.

Thales chuckled, and left the two to keep at it. Slowly, the whole pack would know and despite their first aggression and annoyance, they’d learn to accept it, because it was their Princess’ happiness, at stake.

He began walking when he left the Lead Hunter’s Quarters. There was a lot to do around there but also nothing to do. That was how he felt at Damancas sometimes. That was how to feel in an organised pack. The things go do would only be bettering the place because they was no problem to start with.

"Mr. Thales! Mr. Thales! Over here!"

Thales smiled at the young female traders calling him. He didn’t even know when he became popular amongst the ladies. Maybe when he smiled more and didn’t act like his heart was exclusively for Lady Zara.

He waved to them and got closer. Perhaps it was a better ending for him as well. He might be able to find someone that didn’t belong to another person.

(Silent River)

Darren read through the letter Laurel sent with a hint of disbelief in his eyes. The Lycan King had really stopped his rampage oh werewolf kind and wanted peace.

He had also asked Green Valleys to be his ally? That felt like a dream and just to good to be true. He didn’t know that Lady Zara that was mentioned should be but he felt grateful to her. He also planned to commend Thales highly before the King and Queen since he greatly influenced this. Ella noticed his happy face and began jumping. "Good news?" Darren smiled at her and nodded. "Great news. Now I would be sure that they wouldn’t be unnecessary Lycans visits at my place." The only necessary one would be from that Prince Sorren who he hasn’t really shaken off. Even in the Princess letter, she said that Sorren still suspects him of something and his older brother was being cautious. If that pack became conscious of him, it’d be really bad since he’s reveling under their protection to not to be harmed by werewolves and lycans alike. Damancas was a good length away from them and might not respond as quickly as Black Claws would. He patted Ella’s head. "Our true happiness is near. Fret not."

It had been quite a journey they’ve made together from the first time they learnt about their pack’s destruction and getting Silent River back.

He carried Ella in his arms as he reminisced. Thankfully all of Silent River wasn’t gone and High Mountains still survived. "Do you think we could regrow Silent River to what it was before, Ella?" he asked.

After many officials dying and many being stricken by sorrow, Silent River hadn’t really grown to be like the Silent River of old.

Green Valleys had to grow faster or they’d be trampled but Darren decided to leg Silent River gently overcome its sorrows before on a growth process.

Ella put her hands on her jaw, acting like an adult while thinking. She tilted her head and said. "Yes. We are Silent River pack, yayy!"

That made Darren chuckled and he joined her. "Yayy! We are Silent River pack! We will survive!"

(Green Valleys Pack)

Laurel couldn’t tell why she was seating in the forest with Stefan, on a mat, while he’s trying to carve something for her.

It felt too friendly for what she had in mind. "Friendly?" Elma tsked. "Romantic is the word here, honey. The curse doesn’t affect you guys anymore so you can be together now!"

A smile unconsciously came to Laurel’s face. She was without an excuse this time. Speaking about the curse will just not be feasible anymore.

"What are you making?" she laid on her stomach next to him. He quickly glanced at her and then back at what he was crafting.

"Guess?"

Laurel raised a brow and got closer to see what he did. Stefan paused as her scent filled his nose and suddenly, it became hard to concentrate. He glanced at her and she had an impressive look. "My wolf? You’re carving Elma?"

Stefan wondered if it was his ears or if she actually sounded disappointed. "She’s quite a force to reckon with when she’s mad. I haven’t seen other parts of her so that part quite interests me." He slowly painted the object with blue hue.

Elma danced around in Laurel’s consciousness and Laurel could only roll her eyes. At least, her wolf wouldn’t go about saying that her form wasn’t beautiful.

Stefan dropped the object and shifted besides her. "Are you annoyed?"

Laurel snapped her head to him. "About what?" Did he really mark her as a jealous girl? Jealous over a carving?

Elma snickered in her head and Laurel wished she could physically hit her. "Why would I be? I can always have anything I wanted carved. Zeldris is great at carving.’

She looked away and wondered why he’d even think he’d have such effect on her when they were just ’hanging out together’. It wasn’t anything deep.

Stefan hummed and looked at the remaining wood he had. Carving an image of her wouldn’t be easy and if it didn’t look like her that’d be another problem.

He sighed and he remembered what Sorren used to tell him about how picky ladies could be. He never experienced that with Jade and it’s probably because she was too complacent. There wasn’t much fun in that.

"How about I make a drawing of you instead?" He leaned towards her and turned her face towards him. "I am not very good at drawing, but your beauty would shine through."

He noticed she rolled her eyes again but he had learnt that was her easiest response when she disagreed. He had learnt not to let it affect him.

Since she had an abusive father, silent resistance must’ve been her go-to. "What, you don’t think I’d do a good job? Or you don’t think your beauty would shine through?"

Laurel tried to pull her face away from his hold but he held it firmly, making her face redden. "Do it first. I’d be the judge."

Stefan smirked and released her. "That’s the challenge them. I’d finish it as soon as I can and gift it to you on your next birthday. Good enough?"

Laurel counted the days left to her birthday. It was close. She looked back at the kingdom and felt sober. So everything that had happened had only taken a year.

The pain, sorrow, freedom, excitement and responsibility.... had all happened within a couple of months. It was almost hard to believe.

"Laurel?"

I looked back at Stefan and smiled. "Yeah, sure. It should be on top of the mountain of gifts you’d give me."

Mountain? Stefan nodded slowly. He didn’t even have so many gifts ideas for ladies. That’s where Sorren would come to play again. "Do you have anything in mind?"

"I like surprises." Laurel nodded at her words.

That didn’t help Stefan do he made up his mind to get any pretty things he could find within their kingdom. "On your birthday, Green Valleys Pack would be officially independent. Do you really want High Moon to be an ally?"

Laurel leaned on his shoulder as she thought. That King actually forced that decision on her and since he changed a bit, it’d be safe to assume that it would only be beneficial to them.

"Yes. I would because...." She realized where shoulders on and tried to get up with a flustered face.

"It’s fine." Stefan stopped her. "I like it."

Her remaining words stuck in her throat and she just hummed. Stefan smiled and kept on working on the carving while making a mental image of what picture of her he’d draw.

"Probably the first time I met her." He mumbled to himself. Despite all that happened afterwards, meeting her that day had been the happiest he’d been in a long time, and he could never forget it.

All he had to do now was make more happy memories with her forever.

THE END.
