Chapter 367: Happy Leader
Chapter Three Hundred-Sixty-Seven – Happy Leader
The clothes Mira and Marino wore were so cute that Laurel couldn’t help but keep them hostage in her room while rubbing their faces and dancing with them.
It was the day for Sigma’s birthday and Zeldris searched for the twins hectically. Where did they disappear to after he wore them their clothes?
He hadn’t even taken them to the Princess to show her their clothes. What if they soiled it before they leave?
He spotted Quincy watering the flowers around the hall and out of pity for his exhaustion, Quincy told the Knight how the princess had kidnapped the children.
Zeldris stomped to the Princess’s room and knocked on the door. Why did she kidnap her own children thereby making them late for the celebration?
"Princess Laurel, can I come in to take them?" he asked.
He heard no response so knocked loudly before opening and keeping his head down in case she threw something at him. "Princess Laurel, can I take them now?"
He got no response so raised his head and found her fast asleep on Little Marino’s small laps. Little Mira seemed to be massaging her neck.
Zeldris smiled, closing the door and sitting on the bed. The Princess could be clingy and adorable sometimes.
"Do you want to stay back?" He asked Marino because the boy didn’t seem like he wanted the Princess to leave his laps. He shook his head nevertheless.
He had to see pretty hall and pretty decorations as the Princess said, with his sister. He also wanted to bring a pretty gift back for the Princess.
Mira slapped Zeldris’s hand when he tried to reach for the Princess’s face. "No, no touchy. She’s sleeping."
Zeldris felt bad but appreciated the call to reality, he inhaled deeply and exhaled. He’d to protect the princess, not be one of her problems.
He grabbed Mira and took her out of the bed. "We should start moving out, soldiers." He carefully carried Marino from Laurel’s side and snuck out of the room.
Many things could make her tired but it’s compulsory that she didn’t sleep unhappy. A happy leader would make a happy pack and that’s all they aspired at this point.
The carriage taking them to High Mountains arrived late and Zeldris returned to his sour mood. Why did everyone suddenly forget the plan and did as they like?
He carried the twins into the carriage and received the gifts Bebe arranged. They had made sure that it wouldn’t be the young Beta arranging the gifts for safety purposes.
The young Beta had said he’d arrive late as he had other things to do and Bebe had assured Zeldris that she’d make sure he attended, even if she had to come along.
The carriage set off and the twins got busy trying to undue the other’s hair and remaking it. Zeldris left them and planned to remake it when they got close.
He sighted the pack and frowned, who kept a decorative bow on the border gate. Prince Sorren could be a bit too much. "Green Valleys’ Representative, and kids."
He told the guards while braiding Mira’s hair quickly. The lycan warriors barely heard him and smiled at the little girl and let their carriage in.
Zeldris shrugged and went to Marino’s hair. If he’d be able to get many ladies attention with the kids, it’d be good but they’d a big mouth and could tell the Princess.
They weren’t the type of beautiful children he could use to garner attention. He stepped down from the carriage in a red three pieced attire that gave him a regal aura.
He held the twins in his arms and inspected their braids carefully. It wasn’t as neat as before but it could work. He walked into the grand hall that had more bows.
Someone ran towards him but stopped before they bumped into him. Zeldris frowned at the lady but his expression released when he took in her form.
This was still Lady Cara, the Beta’s younger sister, wasn’t it? She looked so pretty now that he couldn’t make his usual snide remarks at her.
Her eyes moved from Marino to Mira and he had to clear his throat to get her attention. "Could you excuse—"
"I heard that two officials from Green Valleys’ will be attending, both male. Why are you here?" Lady Cara frowned when her eyes landed on him.
She had made extra effort to look resistible so she could speak to the Delta of Green Valleys.
Yet he didn’t show up, and the kids she thought he had with the Princess were with another man?!
Zeldris had a conflicted expression while staring at the Lady. Wasn’t he an official of Green Valleys and also a male? Why did she sound like something went wrong?
His eyes changed and he couldn’t see her pretty face anymore but an obnoxious horn on her head. So she wanted to annoy him as payback for his remarks?
"The Beta of my pack will be attending as well. If you want to speak to him, make sure you kowtow properly." He said with a heavy tone of disdain.
Lady Cara felt slapped in the face. She didn’t kowtow to greet her own Alpha, so why should she do it to a Beta who’s still a child? "You must be drunk already. Who do you think I am?"
Zeldris smirked. "I know your eyesight is getting bad but I just dropped down the carriage so I haven’t gotten time to get drunk yet." He brushed past her. "Tasteless bitch."
Lady Cara’s face heat up in embarrassment. She looked like a whole meal yet that fool dared to call her tasteless. "Princess Laurel spoils her officials too much!"
She realized that she didn’t get to speak to the children and groaned. That Knight will get his payback soon.
Prince Sorren and Dylan had been at a distance watching the interaction and they were awfully astonished at Zeldris’s remark to their Beta’s sister.
